A jury of 12 men and women true just found the Verona WI high school security officer Not Guilty of roughing up a chronic troublemaker who progressives accord victim status. In liberal Dane County with a jury pool probably half Madison, that’s a miracle!

Two former mayors, Paul Soglin and Dave Cieslewicz — once the spear points of Madison’s political Left — are fighting higher taxes. They oppose lifting revenue caps at the city and schools, respectively. Cieslewicz, in particular, takes issue with progressivism as practiced by John Nichols, Bernie Sanders, MSNBC and NPR. The waters have been parted!

Even Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes Conway promises to defund the Police Monitor/Civilian Review Board, an anti-cop tribunal created as an over-reaction to the death of a drugged-up black man at the hands of a white police officer who was defending himself. The blind have been made to see!

And Madison’s black chief of police wants police officers back in our public high schools. We give it to Warden Norton:

Kamala Harris won her spot on the national ticket four years ago thanks to identity politics and a resumé as the San Francisco liberal of whom Jeanne Kirkpatrick warned us. As the reckoning of Election Day looms, the Democrat(ic) nominee has come to Jesus. Weeks before the end of voting, Joe Biden’s veep wears the cape of a crime-fighting prosecutor. One election ago, Ms. K was raising money for Antifa’s arsonists and looters! Water into wine!

To show her supposed conversion, Kamala Harris actually visited the Mexican border at a portion of the wall her administration had not torn down! (“Harris is getting Trumpy on immigration.”) Which leads the Werkes to believe:

So pronounces must-read political scientist Ruy Teixeira. As evidence, he writes:  

1. Loosening restrictions on illegal immigration was a terrible idea and voters hate it.

2. Promoting lax law enforcement and tolerance of social disorder was a terrible idea and voters hate it.

3. Insisting that everyone should look at all issues through the lens of identity politics was a terrible idea and voters hate it.

4. Telling people fossil fuels are evil and they must stop using them was a terrible idea and voters hate it.

Indeed, Minneapolis is RE-funding the police. George Soros prosecutors like Chesa Boudin in San Francisco have been recalled. In Seattle, a Republican defeated a defund-police Democrat for city attorney. Mr. Texeira could have added that black and hispanics, cultural conservatives that they are, are migrating rightward over issues like:
• Boys in girls’ locker rooms. 

• Taxing blue collar workers to pay off debt incurred by Ivy Leaguers graduating with grievance studies degrees.

• Pumping money into “shovel ready” boondoggles, thereby weakening the dollar and raising prices.

Today, Sen Tammy Baldwin released ads that feature that would-be dictator Donald Trump — “and not to bash him,” according to an Axios analysis. No, she’s actually taking credit for “working across the aisle” to get Trump to sign one of her bills. (Tammy wrote a bill?)

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Sen. Baldwin’s resort to an electoral Hail Mary, however, may be a callous concession to public opinion polls, which show the Trumpster arising from his 2020 defeat (really, he was!), like — I dunno — Lazarus? Senate Democrats running for re-election in Montana, Pennsylvania, and Ohio are said to be doing their own conversions.
