The City of Madison is now in the grocery business! Sweetened the pot with another $1 million. On top of $4.6 million to purchase ground-floor grocery space on S. Park Street in 2021 and another $2.9 million for improvements last year. Because south Madison is a food desert. No one asks why is it a food desert? And we wonder how the City dug itself into a $27 million hole! Even the Metcalfs got out and their store is across from toney Shorewood Hills but the City can make it work!

Attention ‘Fair Maps’ people: Howard Marklein lives in Spring Green, in Sauk County. After the (spell it with me) Protasiewicz court forced Democrats’ “fair maps” on the legislator, the state senator says he can see his former district from his house. Democrats saddled him with seven towns in SW Dane County, from the village of Blue Mounds to the village of Oregon. Purely accidental, right?
