We’re extra crabby this Monday!
The Badgers, Packers and Brewers lost over the weekend. Yes, we live our lives vicariously. Missing two makable field goals in a 31 – 29 loss to the Vikings? At home! Here’s hoping the Brewers can at least survive the first round this year.
Drop this in your drop box: We’re voting No on Madison’s city and school referenda on November 5 (or sooner, if we get around to it).

Excerpts from “More answers to your questions [on the] $507 million capital & $100 million operating referenda” for Madison’s public schools:
“Filling budget holes left by expiring federal pandemic aid …”
“The school board has approved substantial wage increases for staff …”
“The district has not significantly reduced expenses to minimize the cost of the referenda.”
“The district has not provided information about the cost of each of these items, or exactly what kind of programs would be expanded or added.”
“Attendance areas … were last updated around 2008.”
“Madison has not put a school referendum on the ballot since 2020.”
Her home didn’t move, the district did!
Speaking of the WI State Journal, it made 12 endorsements for state legislature Sunday. See if you can find the lone Republican. Tom Still, Don Anderson, and Murph Wolman, we turn our lonely eyes to you. If Republicans gerrymandered, Democrats returned the favor. This endorsement shows how Democrats diluted conservative rural Wisconsin with a dollop of progressive Madison:
Sarah Keyeski of Lodi is making a spirited bid for this highly competitive Senate seat stretching from Madison’s airport north into Columbia, Sauk, Richland, and parts of Adams and Juneau Counties. … Sen. Joan Ballweg, R-Markesan … is technically the District 14 incumbent but her home is no longer in the district. So she has to move if she wins.
A case where ‘people don’t claim harm’
Sez here that Trump will beat Letitia James’ New York civil fraud case on appeals. The appellate judges made statements like “What’s being described sounds an awful lot like a potential commercial dispute between private actors.” and this: “You’ve got two really sophisticated parties in which no one lost any money.” Yeah, New York banks are not exactly George Bailey’s savings & loan. Nobody conned anyone.
• Imagine the uncommitted independent voter weighing his choice for President. Then he hears the Republican candidate calling the Democrat(ic) candidate “stupid,” “weak,” “lazy” and “dumb as a rock.” My sixth-grade school yard bully was more eloquent (and better humored).
• Did you catch TV of Kamala walking along the border in Douglas AZ (a town we have visited) late last week? (Pancho Villa rode his horse up the steps of the old hotel; the damage its horseshoes did to the marble still visible.) Couldn’t someone have asked Ms. Harris “Who built that wall we’re walking along? Sorry you tore down some of it?”
Blaska’s Bottom Line: We’ve said before: if voters don’t trust the system it’s because they have reason. The discretionary power of criminal prosecutors is immense. Not difficult to believe the feds are after Eric Adams because he embarrassed Biden/Harris over crime and immigration.

“stupid,” “weak,” “lazy” and “dumb as a rock.”
Rocks are going to take offense.
Did you hear President Dementia’s latest?
REPORTER: “Any comment on the strikes in Yemen, Mr. President!?”
BIDEN (or whatever’s left of him): “I’ve spoken to both sides. They gotta settle the strike. I’m supporting the collective bargaining effort. I think they’ll settle the strike.”
Will he make it to Inauguration day?
“Did you hear President Dementia’s latest?”
According to despicable Lefty, DementiaJoKe was doing 12 dimensional chess and solving a Rubik’s Cube…in the dark while bouncing on one foot backwards; that perception changed on June 27th.
Kacklin’ “Do Nuthin” Kamala went from THE least popular VP EVAH to EXCITING-n-FASCINATING in three (3) short weeks.
A possible explanation for both?
“The media’s the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because they control the minds of the masses”. Malcolm X
The Gotch
In the city of Madison, vote no, no, and no.
As an (arguably) star Junior O-lineman, The Gotch recalls not pinching down and allowing a blocked FG which led to a loss. Coach “Johnny O” Olson’s desert dry delivery in the following week’s film room left little to the imagination: “There’s one way we could have won that game.”
One less pick, Alexander not being a pu$$y, locking down ‘Queens receivers, and Kraft not coughing it up are ways the 13 Time World Champion Green Bay Packers could’ve have won theirs.
Anywho, it’s a fact of life that specialists, particularly FG kickers, get the YIPS time-n-again. Heck, everyone gets in a slump on occasion, the only thing you can do is hit or kick your way out of it.
Mason Crosby had weak patches, 2012 was THE WORST; as fate would have it, the following year was his best.
Anyone notice how both former 1st round QB picks Mitch Trubisky and Justin Fields have resurrected their careers? Think (heh!) getting away from the catastrophically ruinous scourge that is the Bi-Polar bares might’ve had something to do with it…?
The Gotch
When MMSD says they need money because they are not getting any Covid money from the Feds, what did they do before Covid? It’s like when I was working and I would get occasional overtime. When I didn’t get overtime I didn’t cry that my employer they had to give me more money because I didn’t get my overtime money. How many schools are under utilized? How many people work at MMSD other than teachers and what are their job titles? Are the student test scores getting better or not with all the money being spent? MMSD gets a new superintendent and the first thing he wants is $607m more from the tax payers with no plan to get student test scores up.
Trump is really trying to lose this election. His cocmments about Kamala are just childish. Ctiricize what she has or has not done, not her intellegince. She is not dumb, but she is (to quote liberal nice talk) misguided.
Non intellegince.
