Shady uses ‘social justice’ for racist ends!
That Shadayra Kilfoy-Flores holds a governmental position of authority over Madison police is reason enough to vote NO on the city’s appeal for $22 million in additional spending on November 5.
Good for the police union for filing an ethics complaint against the chairman of the redundant, profligate, do-nothing Police Civilian Oversight Board. Kilfoy-Flores tried to use her privilege of power to intimidate the police officer called to investigate her daughter’s possible battery and disorderly conduct. Chris Rickert reports: “I’m going to call Chief (Shon) Barnes right now and explain to him how this was handled.”
“I’m the chair of Madison’s Police Civilian Oversight Board. You will be thoroughly investigated to make sure any of your arrests involving young black women will be thoroughly investigated. … Your discrimination tonight is obvious.”
Her 26-year old daughter was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct after people came to retrieve the automobile they had loaned, charges later dropped.
‘Angry white supremacists’
A year ago, the woman her friends call “Shady” claimed that “angry white supremacists” shot out her car windows on Willy Street. “I can’t help but be slightly paranoid thinking to possibly shut me up. I am after all the chair of Madison’s Police Civilian Oversight Board and have been a target for a number of angry white supremacists.” Police concluded that she got in the crossfire of some hoodies shooting at each other.
Along with the Grieven’ Grandma, the shady lady brought charges against Chief Mike Koval to the Police & Fire Commission, alleging that the chief was disrespectful. A charge to which Blaska pleads guilty.
The Independent Monitor and Shadayra’s Police Civilian Oversight Board is a $509,000 a year operation that since its formation four years ago has yet to draw up so much as a complaint form, much less receive a complaint, even less process one. No complaints about the police in four years? Who voted for this boondoggle? (Shiva Bidar-Sielaff, for one. The former alder now runs the DEI shop at the UW Medical school at a very nice salary.)
Blaska’s Bottom Line: If she were a Republican obstructing justice, The Capital Times would demand her immediate removal from office. Because Shady enjoys minority status — indeed, uses it to intimidate her enemies (of whom she seems to have hordes, real and imagined) — we will hear only crickets. Progressives need to America to believe it is fundamentally racist. With the likes of Shadayra Kilfoy-Flores operating the levers of social justice, it well may be — in reverse.

If she files a complaint with the oversight committee wouldn’t she have to recuse herself because of the conflict of interests?

Once again I recount the fact that two African, Muslim exchange students spent a school year at our house in York, SC; population 10,000 and 35% AA. When they left I asked if they ever encountered racism. They answered no.
