Stolen car, firearms and a PD chase! Quite a haul, kids!
8:02 a.m. 08-20-19 Officers responded to N. Bedford Street for a report of a stolen vehicle. The registered owner/victim (21-year-old WM) had the keys to the vehicle and he believes the vehicle was locked at the time he parked it. Attempt to locate aired.
The stolen vehicle was later involved in a pursuit with Cottage Grove PD. The vehicle was subsequently observed/located by MPD on Nakoosa Trail. It was reported by a witness that three subjects exited the vehicle, took guns out of the trunk, hid the guns in the woods and then fled on foot.
K9 track conducted and the guns were located/recovered. Officers made contact with three juveniles in the area who were subsequently positively identified as the suspects (16-year-old AAM, 16-year-old AAM and 14-year-old WM).
The suspects were arrested and conveyed to the Juvenile Reception Center on various charges (operating a motor vehicle without consent, receiving stolen property, party to a crime, etc.). Investigation continuing.
It’s your turn, Stoughton
Two teens were arrested after shots were fired from an SUV in Stoughton early Tuesday (08-20-19) morning, with no injuries reported, police reported.
Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of South Monroe Street shortly after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday on the report of multiple shots fired from an SUV, Stoughton police said in a news release.
Two kids arrested, Madison boy age 16 and Stoughton boy age 17. Stoughton girl age 13 released.
