Defund the Police mob doesn’t want details.
Should have known better. The Head Groundskeeper asked our favorite morning Madison newspaper to commend the mayor for shutting down the lawless Corey Ruiz Autonomous Zone. Still waiting.
Instead, newspaper editor Kelly Lecker almost revels in her editorial cowardice, bragging that her newspaper refused to even publish photographs of the fires set by the social justice warriors.

Reminds us of that infamous CNN chyron set against the burning Kenosha skyline, the one that claimed the protests were “mostly peaceful.” But then, so is the weather, except for the occasional tornado, wildfire, and tsnunami. Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.
To the contrary, protestors used fire to escalate their campaign of harassment and intimidation. It was not happenstance that the (so-called) independent police monitor vowed to “F-ing burn this city down!“
Too much to ask that you editorialize that this largely irresponsible troublemaker be (excuse the term) FIRED?
‘Largely stupid’
The newspaper editor vows to “keep pushing for details” on the shooting of Corey Ruiz while the career criminal was violently resisting arrest. (For the record, the descriptors “career criminal” and “violently resisting arrest” are ours, alone.) The newspaper, for its part, dares not offend the mob, given its proclivity for largely peaceful harassment. If they’re willing to start fires, they’re willing to boycott your newspaper and harass your advertisers.
Elsewhere, the Sunday paper faults Sheriff Kalvin Barrett for confining prisoners in the old jail as if it were his fault Dane County’s elected officials spent $207 million to reduce jail capacity despite a booming metro population. (“The sheriff may have a point …”)
The point, Madame Editor, is the State Journal should have pounded its tambourine for a lock-up big enough to accommodate population growth and not endorsed supervisors (along with the Democrat party) who defunded police by other means, namely, a too-small jail.
Details don’t matter
Ms. Lecker is pushing for details of the Remarkable Mr. Ruiz’ shooting. The WI Department of Criminal Investigation will detail the events of July 22 to infinity and beyond. Until then, can we agree that the officer did not go hunting for a black man to kill? Can we agree that incident was chaotic and police were under duress on a hot day on hard pavement? Struggling with a man slashing at them with a large knife? Can we agree that the second-guessers have weeks while responders had seconds?
Defund the Police Incorporated, highly organized and coordinated, don’t want no stinkin’ details. Within hours, the Democrats’ likely nominee for governor called it “an execution.” Does anyone doubt Madison’s ill begotten independent police monitor will convict the police of institutional racism? Because there’s nothing independent about the position. The City of Madison decreed that only social justice warriors could serve on its oversight board; they selected one of their own in turn. You could call for abolishing the position, Ms. Lecker, but that would incur their wrath.
Blaska’s Bottom Line: The militant Defund the Police mob does not want details, Madame editor, they largely want revolution.

Juneteenth in Chicago was celebrated by 39 shootings and nine dead. But those black lives don’t matter. Madison cops know they’ll be vilified, screamed at attacked and prejudged by their monitor Aeromatique Glass. They also know that tax payers money, laundered through Freedom Inc. will bail out everyone they arrest.
Because… Madison.

Regarding Aromatic Glass and her call to “[effing] burn this city down”: We’re not stupid. We believed you the first time. You meant it. Was it a metaphor? Sounds like someone learned a new word.
We’ll see how many Democrats want Chairwoman Hong to lead Wisconsin tomorrow.
Hard to take the crazy out of CRAZ
Does anyone seriously think that any of the “activists” (aka the anarchical unemployed) who took over and trashed city streets read the WI State Journal? I doubt they read anything apart from “Marxism for Dummies.” Today’s WSJ is nothing but Cap Times Lite, which means that Madison liberals can rest assured they will never hear a peep of dissent from the sort of toxic ideology so eloquently expressed by Frannie H.
