The Head Groundskeeper admits to an unwholesome crush on Erin Burnett. Too bad the CNN prime-time host is such a (rhymes with fore!) for the party of Biden and Schumer! Give the brunette beauty this much: she does empathy better than even cry-on-cue Anderson Cooper. The news lady emoted all over her anchor desk 02-11-25 as she interviewed the sister of Russian hostage Marc Fogel. (The man was pictured enjoying a fine scotch whisky aboard the flight to freedom, seated with Trump envoy Steve Witkoff, uncredited, of course.) Mr. Fogel’s sister announced on air that she was deep into a glass of the good stuff herself. (Now THAT is solidarity we can appreciate!)
The CNN siren visibly grimaced as the sister thanked President Trump for freeing her brother after three years in Russian prison camps. Cluelessly, said the biased news lady:
Erin Burnett: “This [hostage release] seems to have come out of the blue.”
Hostage’s sister: “My mother [age 95] went to the Trump rally [in their home town of Butler PA] and saw President Trump shortly before he was shot. He told her then if he was elected he was going to get him out and the man was true to his word.”

The progressive publisher credits “Republican efforts” for “demonizing critical race theory and diversity, equity and inclusion.” Yes, once again, Republicans have fooled the voters by choosing love. Then Fanlund reverses course like Saquon Barkley in the backfield of the same opinion essay. After extensively quoting centrists William Galston and Elaine Kamarck of the Brookings Institute on how to bring the party back from the Twilight Zone, the publisher sighs:
Alarmingly, few working-class voters think Democrats should focus more on inequality and the distribution of wealth.
“Alarmingly”? John Nichols, alert Bernie! Fanlund adds another prescriptive to returning his party to health: “Being competent at governing.” (See hostage release, above.)
