Cab, please!

Sitting for his portrait, King George III asked what would George Washington do after winning independence. Would he make himself king? The American painter reported that Washington was returning to his farm. “If he does that,” the incredulous monarch said, “he will be the greatest man in the world.” The second greatest act in American history was John Adams catching a horse-drawn hansom cab for home from the White House after his defeat for a second term.

Some of our friends (for they ARE our friends) were quick to say that anyone expressing criticism of Donald Trump is guilty of treason. They cannot believe anyone would vote against Dear Leader and will justify any retribution in His Name. These people scare us.

Elected with a minority of the national vote four years ago, little attempt was made to woo Trump critics. Instead, they must be rendered as non-persons. Trump’s true believers rewrote history to declare (for one example) Vietnam hero John McCain had been a traitor almost since birth. And we wonder why Trump lost Arizona, which elected McCain eight times.

Insane conspiracies

Many who cheered Trump’s principled roll back of oppressive administrative rules now call for martial law! In so doing, they take their cue from newly pardoned general Mike Flynn. Do we replace the Twelve Days of Christmas with Seven Days in May December?

“The idea that the U.S. military would oversee a new nationwide presidential election — ordered under martial law by President Donald Trump — is “insane in a year that we didn’t think could get any more insane,” a defense official tells Military Times.”

In such anti-democratic fever swamps bloom Sidney Powell’s poisonous claim that Hugo Chavez jiggered Dominion voting machines. Have we become Branch Dividians?

Martial law

We get that there were irregularities in elections in many states — ever-changing, last-minute, loosie-goosie rules implemented by Democrats under cover of Covid 19. We understand that declaring “indefinite confinement” as an excuse for casting an absentee ballot skirts the law. It must be fixed. But the vote was real. Is the cure — negating those votes — worse than the disease? Do such votes rise to the level of corruption of, say, voting the dead? Do we punish the mother or the abortionist?

Death threats have consequences

Justice Brian Hagedorn of the Wisconsin Supreme Court honored his campaign vow to apply the law as written, not as he may wish it to be. (More here.) Over at RightWisconsin, James Wigderson writes:

The Wisconsin Supreme Court decided 4-3 that the campaign of President Donald Trump has to start their lawsuit at the circuit court level rather than directly in front of our state’s highest court. … Hagedorn noted … that the law clearly states that election cases must begin at the circuit court level. The statute itself reads:

“Within 5 business days after completion of the recount … any candidate, or any elector when for a referendum, aggrieved by the recount may appeal to circuit court.

The Supreme Court does have the option to take original jurisdiction, so perhaps Hagedorn is reading the law too literally. We are up against a tight timeline. But some of our friends have suggested that the justice “DESERVES TO BE SHOT.”

Blaska has been on the receiving end of that kind of incitement to violence for opposing the social justice warriors degrading the public square and Capitol Square — to the point of summoning the police. We argue that the exhortations of Freedom Inc. provided cover for the crazies who destroyed Downtown Madison.

Blaska’s Bottom Line — That kind of irresponsible logorrhea does not sit well with us, no matter the politics. There are worse fates than Joe Biden (which would be compounded by losing the Senate in Georgia).

Apparently he got out and found all three wackos, Alan.

Perhaps David can REFUTE Powell’s remark about Chavez and Dominion, rather than simply say ‘it is poisonous’? Proof would be nice.

Perhaps David can explain how Hagedorn, who campaigned on his adherence to THE CONSTITUTION, could flat-out ignore THE CONSTITUTION in favor of subordinate suggestions (called statutes)? Outside of Hagedorn’s apparent love for Gummint, no matter how badly Gummint behaves?

Perhaps David will explain his rather blase dismissal of Election Commission disregard for–and flat-out disobedience of–the laws pertaining to elections? And perhaps David can ‘splain how, when 20,000 votes is the margin, we should simply walk away from the whole thing, sulfur smells and all, because “comity!!!!”, when 50,000 or perhaps 200,000 votes are flat-out illicit?

Is an illicit President the price the entire country has to pay for “loosie-goosie”, David?

I think Alan is right. The Madison hot-house has affected your thinking, friend.

I do not think Trump is sinless in his administration of the USA, nor do I think the DP is a remedy for voting for Biden. On the other hand, those who would make the interests of the US subordinate to the interests of other countries (or themselves *cough* PRC *cough* Ukraine *cough*) should not be considered fit for the Presidency.

That’s the way it is. Don’t like that? Go to work at the UN.

By the way, we have the DP for the CHILD of a rapist, David. Let’s not run “moralizing” questions which are irrelevant.

Right?? I had to check the byline to be sure this post is a Blaska original and not something he lifted from Jennifer Rubin. I’ve posted before and I’ll post it again- Blaska really needs to stick to analysis of local and state issues. His analysis of Trump, Trump supporters, and the response to this horrendously bungled election is anemic and uninspired. For example, Trump insulted McCain prior to the 2016 election and still managed to win that state that year. What changed? Did AZ voters really decide to white knight for the late McCain five years after the fact? I kinda doubt it.

And to address his claim that “there are worse fates than Joe Biden”: The SJW nonsense happening here in our fair burg as decried by Blaska will be bolstered and validated by a Biden administration on a federal level. This alone is a valid and important reason to insist a full investigation into election “irregularities” whether or not it offends the delicate sensibilities of the RINO and Never Trump crowds. Calls to violence aren’t acceptable no matter who instigates them, but the frustration and anger felt by Trump’s most vocal supporters is understandable. I’d expect Blaska to recognize this fact rather than throw his “friends” under the bus to protect his own dignity.

        Agree with the comments here.

Conspiracy theorists & extremists aside, I’m not certain how anyone can look at the evidence for fraud and contend that these are just irregularities. Have you even watched the live hearings and seen the statistical improbabilities?

Your words are an insult to the hundreds of patriots (including a Dominion employee) who’ve given sworn testimonies & signed sworn affidavits saying that they witnessed fraud. Stories abound of carts of ballots favoring Biden appearing, USB drives missing, suitcases of ballots hidden then taken out after everyone left & counting was done for the day. Or Trump’s margin of defeat occurring at the same as the data dumps.

Are all these people lying? Are these statistical improbabilities all mere coincidences?

It’s also an insult to attempt to classify the millions of us with legitimate concerns in with the handful of whackjobs.

Biden is nice? Have you seen the tapes of how he’s belittled people who don’t agree with him, including military veterans? And let’s not forget comments like “You ain’t Black.” and “Obama was the first clean-cut AA”. It’s not just not nice, but exposes how he really feels about Black people.

Biden is moderate? Creating legislation that was responsible for incarcerating thousands of non-violent Black Americans to give people a false sense of security along with that phony war on drugs.

Then doing an about-face when he’s campaigning by saying racism pervades policing & the criminal justice system, regularly saying that Black parents are right to worry about their kids being shot by cops.

Let’s see: Refusing to disavow groups like Antifa or calling out the multitude of attacks on Trump supporters. Assigning lobbyists & globalists to his cabinet. You don’t name a DuPont insider to your cabinet if you claim to love the environment. More like a corrupt DC politician.

You’re entitled to your own opinion, but I expected more from you.

I am NOT a conspiracy theorist, always a skeptic. BUT, as I posted 2 days ago, the Progressive wing of Liberalism truly believe that they are intellectually superior to the general population, and are destined to rule this country. Hollywood “stars”, Ilhan Omar, AOC, et al, (all of who’s I.Q. tests consistently come back negative), would cheerfully dictate our lives, if given the chance. In a sane universe, these people would never be given such import. My list of things that they would “never do” grows shorter by the day. Do I believe law abiding liberals would break laws to change an election, because “someone” told them to “help the team” and “save the dream”? This week I watched as ONE MAN dictated what would be reported as the news of the day, to a world-wide news network, so nothing is outside the realm of possibilities. I fear that “run of the mill” Democrats, minority activists, and liberal SJWs are all being “used”,(not everyone can be a ruler, after all). They will ultimately just have to fall in line and suffer the same fate as the rest of us, in our journey to “Utopia”. —– as Sir Thomas More, (the originator of the term), correctly pointed out in 1516, the name Utopia translates to “Nowhere”.

    David,

I think you are missing out on what is really going on here. Look at the long game, not the short one.
Since the election, or the big steal as I should say, I have been trying to figure out the long game that the Dem’s are trying to play. In my own working man’s mind I have come up with an idea of what their long game is. Here it is:

The way I figure is that Joe gets elected but dies or is declared incompetent within the 1st or 2nd year. Kamala takes over the Presidency and is at the beck and call of those in power who rigged the election. (According to the Constitution, all he has to do is serve 2 years and 1 day and give up the office or be removed and she can finish out the rest of his term in office and then run for 2 more 4 year terms of office. At least that is the way I read it.)

Those in power will use the press, which they own, to make the call for a direct democracy. They will push and push to see that this idea is firmly implanted in the minds of most Americans. (All one has to do is see how successful the idea of Donald Trump colluding with Russia, the Ukraine, China was to know how well this can work.)

Once we give away our form of a representative republic as our government and change it to a direct democracy we are done. Those in power will then own the press and the voting machines, both of which can and will be easily manipulated to make sure what those in power want, is the law of the land. (At this point it does not matter who we elect, only the powerful will select those who they want in power.)

Want to change the 1st Amendment to put conditions on the freedom of speech? No problem, put it as a vote before the people and make sure that the machines say that the people want conditions on the freedom of speech! When you own the press and the voting machines you can change any law or amendment you want.

With direct democracy, rigged elections, and whatever boogeyman they want to use to scare us, they will in a very short time be able to take control of every aspect of American life.

In short they will be the oligarchy that controls us.

    A communist Oligarchy at that.

The entire main stream media is now engaged in peddling a narrative, and suppressing facts that contradict that narrative. Ask your self this question: Can CNN explian why Texas is suing Pennsylvania in the US Supreme Court, and why other states have joined the suit, can they even answer?

What does it mean when CNN or FOX or any other news org literally cannot explain current events?

    NO!

Read the following for yourselves and ask yourself, why hasn’t the press given us this side of the story on the covid-19 scare?
    https://gbdeclaration.org/

This declaration has been written and signed by three people that are way, way smarter than I am or ever will be. The co-signers are also way, way smarter then I ever will be. All these people are tops in the field of medicine.

Why haven’t we been told about this by the main stream press?

You should know about this. The press has been lying to you and I by not telling us about this side of the story. Just like they keep lying to us about “No voter fraud” when we have mounds of evidence that there was.

Whatsa matter, AW, never lost an election before? “But” nothing. You are in sympathy with violence as a means to an end. No president in recent history, save for Obama, has inspired such passionate grassroots support. It’s Trump’s willingness to talk honestly & fearlessly, against the swamp and status quo, that’s part of his appeal. Except of course, to conservatives who are more concerned with style over substance.

I would argue that the onus is not on Trump as much as it is on a manipulative media and a tech industry that censors and manipulates algorithms.

If Trump really lost, that’s one thing. But to deny the evidence for fraud (and I’m talking conspiracy theory here) is dishonest.

As our country is being sold to China, as Progressives try to socialize us, as the Legislature (both sides) allows Big Tech to continue to censor Americans, as schools brainwash young people about the “evil white race”, and Biden is assembling a cabinet of lobbyists & globalists, by all means, let’s worry about our Ps & Qs.

You speak as the congenial but congenital loser Republicans that have been subsumed by the Washington Party.
Bushes, Clintons, McCain, Obama, Romney have given us endless, pointless wars, Omnibus spending bills, deficits as far as the eye can see, the monetization of high appointed posts like the Clinton Foundation and Hunter Biden. The dictators of China, Russia the Ukraine et al rent some big family names in Washington and voila! the USA picks up the defense tab for the more highly evolved globalists and defers to them when we negotiate trade deals.
China has gone from the most murderous regime holding more people in grinding poverty to our largest competitor since it gained Most Favored Nation under Bill Clinton and we became Less Favored Nation ever since.
That the hopelessly corrupt VP Biden is more “decent” than Trump and will do some for the “soul” of our country is silly and worse, stupid.
That the Washington Party (looking at you Barack and Joe) tried to overthrow President Trump by illegal means during the last transition is obvious but still hard to believe.
That all our elites have shoveled more lies, hysteria and agitprop for 4.5 years non stop, now demand we believe them about our house arrest, the mandatory shut down of our economy and a corrupted election because…… why? They said so, that’s why.
But Trump said a bad thing about McCain and unmasked him as a liar.
But Trump tweets mean things. But but but…..
We need a strong leader. We are not contesting a Glee Club presidency here.

Now for some schadenfreude and a deserved accusation of sour grapes.

Here comes the Bourbon Restoration after Napoleon’s first exile. Maybe you remember the folks who learned nothing and forgot nothing. The Democratic Party, if it gets in, will come apart like a cheap suit in a hard rain. Neera Tanden as first pick at OMB is a shot at Bernie/AOC. Hell hath no fury like the greedy in fighting we may see between the Clintonistas and the Obamanauts. Between the Woke Progressives and the geriatric Joe, Pelosi, and Hillary.
The linch pin of the Washington Party has fallen out. Hate has trumped Trump and when the “Orange man bad club looks around and asks itself “Now What?” It will have no answer but “Where’s Mine?”
