Be not afraid, Madison

“They shudda stopped them at Munich; they was just askin’ for trouble.” — Clemenza

The .20 gauge pump-action shotgun lay on my office desk, fully loaded. Freedom Inc. and kindred social justice warriors were F-bombing the personal homes of the school board president, the head of the P&FC, and even the sheriff in their bid to defund school police. They did it again this summer to Mayor Satya after she reclaimed city streets from the mob.

Told the police officer summoned to the Stately Manor that night that if the mob attacked our residence (where my wife sleeps and my children play with their toys!) that the Head Groundskeeper would pump the first round into the sky while the Lovely Lisa dialed 911.

Blaska was being doxxed that Spring of 2019 because he dared run for Madison school board. Dancing on our iMac were social media GIFs of Blaska being guillotined, red blood effusing. Was played the race card for supporting discipline in our under-performing high schools. Became a candidate after the Missus said she did not feel safe attending school board meetings. Not State Street after dark. Not the East high school cafeteria. School Board meetings!

The mob actually shut down the previous annual budget meeting. Despite my entreaties, face to face, District Attorney Ozanne would not prosecute the instigators. (“A choreographed and orchestrated show of force. It is daunting, it is meant to intimidate, it is meant to marginalize,” Police Chief Koval said then.)

”How can any Mayor be effective when a difference of opinion is cast as unforgivable betrayal that justifies threats of violence?”— Mayor Satya Rhodes Conway 10-23-26

I have seen large and passionate crowds in the council chambers before, but nothing like what we saw [10-20/21-26]. The anger in that room was palpable and frankly frightening. There were chants throughout the night calling me and other alders racist and evil. There were completely baseless accusations of corruption … The few in the room who spoke in favor of the resolution were not allowed to speak and made to feel unsafe …. Some protesters, egged on by a jeering crowd, made statements that were hard not to read as personal threats … [Some alders] had to be escorted out by police for their own safety. — Ald. Noah Lieberman

Madison takes a knee

Madison took a knee

So we don’t blame Satya Rhodes Conway for calling it quits. Well, actually, we do! Instead of confronting intolerance head on, the mayor, the Common Council, and Madison civic leaders have bended their collective knee to the bullhorn bullies for too long. Now they had come for their due.

When did it start? The rot was well underway when Dean Loumos, chairing a school resource police officer study committee, apologized to the mob for letting Blaska speak on a government issue seven years ago. It continued when the current sheriff referred to inmates of the county jail as “residents.” When the city arts department paid for murals depicting police as blood-thirsty pigs. When Satya herself demanded the immediate release of a downtown shakedown artist who weaponized race in demanding restaurateurs “Venmo Me the Money.” (“Free Yeshua!”)

It continued when the mayor and council did not give Chief Mike Koval and his officers their full support. When Madison shrugged at the removal of a 42-ton glacial boulder from the university campus after the inanimate object was accused of racism. When council progressives railroaded Ald. Paul Skidmore despite forensic evidence proving that the police supporter never uttered the C-word. When Satya herself thanked police for enduring the long hours, the verbal and physical abuse at which the statue of a Civil War abolitionist was decapitated and city hall itself was fire-bombed. Then, mau maued by the mob — she took it down! When city leaders created a superfluous and powerless police monitor as a ransom payment to the very mob that drove her off the ballot.

No sergeant at arms?

The mayor at the last council meeting 10-20/21-26 yielded the floor — literally — to a woman Mike Koval aptly described as “a raging lunatic” to prowl the Common Council floor, in session, and stick her contorted face inches from that of Ald. Verveer and City Attorney Haas. You get more of what you subsidize. There is no negotiating with social justice warriors — many of whom are subsidized by the taxpayer.

Fret all you want about Trump’s Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, this is the kind of pro-Hamas, Defund-the-Police, Woke progressivism that burned Kenosha, sprayed swastikas on the Goodman Brothers jewelry store, and torches France this day.

Too much of Madison, especially in what passes for “leadership,” cowers in fear of the Race Card. Ald. Sabrina Madison’s call to retire the promiscuous use of the race card should be required reading. Excusing Corey Ruiz’s criminal resistance to arrest is the worst form of racism.

It ain’t me, Babe

A few years back, a neighbor here in Orchard Ridge was convinced that Antifa was out to get him. Eventually, he realized that Blaska spoke out at public meetings, published a blog, fulminated on AM radio, and ran for government office. Aren’t you afraid? he asked.

When we sued the teachers union for not complying with Act 10, Blaska announced on radio that the union boss knows where I live and I know where he lives and I have friends.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Vigilant? Yes. Afraid? NO!

What are YOU afraid of?

Wow, I didn’t know you had been doxxed David. And keeping a loaded shotgun handy! All this stuff is a bridge way too far, people! As much as I dislike Satya’s mayoring, I fear about the next person Madistan will elect.

I do agree with David’s comment about Sabrina Madison and her appeal to tone down the racial warfare going on. I emailed her to thank her for her brave stand (hope she is not doxxed) and just got a nice reply today.

No, no, no, it ain’t me babe…..

I agree with much of what you say. Dave, though I would not accept people who oppose freedom of speech and support of violence as being labeled as the left. What they are is fascists

One thing I want to suggest if I may is that The last thing we need is opposing views, like yours which I share much of, by reacting by ramping up the talk of violence further. Why don’t we think about bringing out some hot coffee and a willingness to talk together to those d our houses instead of shotguns.

I’d like to think that even Madison has at long last reached its limit when it comes to kissing the collective arse of the fanatics, lunatics and professional “activists” (formerly known as the unemployed) who come out of the woodwork and launch into a rampage every time a worthless POS like George Floyd or Corey Ruiz meets his well-deserved end at the hands of the police. Time will tell. I felt a physical revulsion welling up in my nether regions when viewing that photo of Madison law enforcement prostrating themselves before the embodiment of mob rule.

I’d also like to urge Citizen Dave to run for mayor, but after reading of the harrowing treatment he endured at the hands of the perpetually aggrieved, I understand his reluctance to subject himself to such behavior a second time.
