Learning all the wrong lessons

in all the wrong places.

Let’s not get carried away. Democrats won three Democrat strongholds Tuesday night 11-4-25: New Jersey, Virginia, and New York City. Let the church bells ring! The current Real Clear average of national polling still shows the party 26 percentage points under water — double the unfavorability of Republicans. Thanks to Zohran Mamdani in New York City, the Bernie Sanders/John Nichols wing has its Finland Station moment.

Mamdani has the potential to transform not just a city but the politics of a nation. — John Nichols and Katrina Vanden Heuvel in The Nation

Francesca Hong, D-Madison

Already, The Capital Times is cheerleading Francesca Hong, Madison’s Mamdani, for governor. Thanks her for “rallying activists on behalf of economic, social, and racial justice.” Them’s progressive code words for socialism, victimhood, and reparations. “Activists”? So much for voters at the dinner table.

How Woke thou art!

Can we please be done with identity politics? CNN reports these “historic firsts:”

Mamdani will be New York City’s first Muslim mayor and the first South Asian to hold the office. Spanberger will become Virginia’s first female governor and Sherrill will become New Jersey’s first female Democratic governor. Democrat Ghazala Hashmi, projected to be Virginia’s lieutenant governor, will become the first Muslim woman elected statewide.

Blaska Policy Werkes repeats its call to dump racial classifications in the next U.S. Census. “Trump’s campaign against DEI has so far spared the Census Bureau’s insidious racial classifications,” the Wall Street Journal reports. “The Biden administration specified 6,676 detailed racial categories within the seven major races.”

A ban on racial score keeping would do wonders for public schools across the nation. Madison schools would no longer have to lower standards in order to make the disparity numbers work. (As much as they try, they still can’t!) It would deliver on Chief Justice John Roberts’ prescription that “the way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discriminating on the basis of race.”

Not the affordability party

Zohran Mamdani and the Democrats in NJ and VA won by stressing affordability, we are told. If you think food costs too much now, wait ’til government runs your HyVee! PETA will picket the hamburger counter. The “paper or plastic” baggers will be SEIU unionized and paid a minimum wage of $30/hour. By government ukase, the shelves will carry only that which is locally sourced, sustainably grown, union-harvested and processed. If those shelves aren’t empty. Affordability? Democrats want to ban fossil fuels and freeze rents while promising More Free Stuff! And less public safety.

Government healthcare premiums under ObamaCare are set to increase 26% — and that doesn’t factor in the expiration of the enhanced premium subsidies, should Democrats fail in their Mexican standoff.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Exit polls say 40% of voters in the two state elections voted against Donald Trump’s Republican party. That’s what comes from punishing enemies instead of winning converts. His gold gilt and Marie Antoinette ballroom may be symbolism, but symbols absorb voter bandwidth.

While we’re at it: Winsome Sears was never a good candidate. Sorry to say it, but the lady is just scary looking.

A full-on socialist in Congress is one thing but as chief executive of a city of 8.5 million?

Has Big Gummint ever made anything affordable?

Franchesca Hong can be the first ever female Asian liberal to call her opponent a c**t and then defend it. Gosh, I remember when being falsely accused of saying that word could cost you an election! But she has now “reclaimed” the slur. Maybe it’s like the blacks who use the N word constantly to each other. but are oh so offended if a non-black person says it. She is a c**t, so she can say it all she wants.

Yep, but Madison leftists will falsely accuse their enemies of saying it and engage in manufactured pearl-clutching, as they did with Paul Skidmore. They’ll manipulate the English language in whatever way suits their purpose.

I hope Francesca Hong gets the Democratic nomination for governor. She’s a blatant illustration at how far off the deep end Madison progressives are. The rest of the state will reject her like a brat with ketchup.

I hear his office will be in the lower basement of a children’s hospital.

Ha! And his staff will occupy the subway (underground tunnel, get it?).

Maybe the rest of us who have common sense can sit back and, put our feet up & eat popcorn to watch the conditions in NYC , New Jersey & Virginia go down the tubes. All that free stuff probably isn’t going to happen. Voters in those areas are going to get history lessons they never wanted. Should be fun!

You would need a truck load of popcorn while watching the sub sandwich trial. The big complaint by the ICE guy??? Mustard on his uniform and the other cops laughing at him and onion smell. They have TWO gov’t lawyers there. Your tax money at work. I’m waiting for a ballistic expert to testify on the impact of a ham sub on Kevlar. Get ready for an appeal. MAGA SNOWFLAKES.

Get some of that 40 billion back from Argentina and you can pay for all the stuff you want. No one talks about supporting that fascist dictator that just got your money.

Thirteen states have government owned and operated liquor stores. A government run grocery store is probably not a great idea, but it isn’t completely nuts either. I assume they want to address “food deserts” where no private operator is willing to take a chance.

Unless the grocery stores sell booze. Big mark up on that.

Mamdani is socialist, Islamist, and progressive. The suckers who bought his con job will get what they desperately deserve.

Democrats will now have to fight both Republicans and these DSA nutjobs because they abandoned their traditional values and voters. They’ll go the way of the Whigs if they don’t get their sh!t together soon.

I think it’s hilarious: not only did the Democrats not learn from the last presidential election but they’ve doubled down on their crazy policies. Sure, they’ll win some elections in Blue State strongholds but are quickly becoming irrelevant.

Mamdani, what a wonder gift to the GOP, a gift that will keep on giving.
