UW-Eau Claire suspended a professor for flipping over a lit table the College Republicans set up on election day in April. Must sit out a whole year, without pay. Won’t be promoted to full professor. The perp, José Felipe Alvergue, chaired its English department! In a sense, the prof fell victim to progressive entitlement syndrome.
We know of no conservative professors flipping over Planned Parenthood or Young Socialists lit tables. Mainly because there are so few conservative professors admitted to the ideological monocultures of American higher education. Also, we like to think, learned conservatives are not so arrogant as to substitute Gestapo tactics for reasoned discourse.
Conservatives aren’t shouting down disfavored speakers, defacing monuments, or enforcing Jewish exclusion zones. They’re not exiling a 42-ton glacial boulder from campus after BLM accuses it of racism! Signs of a diseased culture!
Universities no longer demand (under duress) loyalty oaths to diversity, equity, and inclusion. (But they still teach grievance studies.)
So, kudos from this dues-paying RINO to Donald Trump for dropping bunker busters on our culture’s privileged-only zones.

Billions in research grants to anti-semitic Harvard are frozen. CBS paid up for creatively editing a taped Kamala Harris interview to make her appear coherent. Trump urges Washington’s NFL team to quit playing P.C. with its name. Late-night TV is still exclusively progressive but after next year, there will be one fewer.
Trump ordered the Smithsonian Institutions to quit bad-mouthing America. He won’t confiscate your gas kitchen range. It’s even O.K. to be a man these days!
Woke is reeling, if not dead. Radio talker Dan O’Donnell fires the first salvo in the race for Wisconsin governor. He reveals that likely candidate Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez co-authored with other Democrats Assembly Bill 484, which “recognizes that a transgender person may become pregnant and give birth to a child.”

Blaska’s Bottom Line: The President — being Trump — could well go too far. But Wall Street Journal opinion polling shows Democrats 33 points more disliked than admired. Republicans were also underwater — but only by 11 points, and Trump by only 7 points.
Democrats earned their unpopularity by pandering to coastal elites and critical race theorists in the English Department. Trump didn’t start the Bud Light boycott, remember — it was a bottoms-up groundswell from real-life beer drinkers. Voters in Wisconsin and the nation said no to Trump’s Woke opponent.
Ending government subsidies for biased public radio is not the wedge issue Democrats are looking for. Neither are government-run grocery stores.

If you have the stomach for it, go visit this bozo’s website and ask yourself what the f**k he’s doing teaching English or any other subject in the UW System. His CV reads like a parody of everything you’ve ever imagined about a left-wing ideologue. He claims to be a victim of racism and anti-immigrant hatred and a champion of the poor and oppressed while raking in a salary that places him squarely in the ranks of the haute-bourgeoise. I agree that Trump’s upending of academic privilege for specimens like this deserves praise, but it should be looked at at the opening salvo in a long, bloody war. The next battle ought to be the abolishing of grievance studies departments, the swamp that provides an ideal habitat for leeches like Jose.
