‘Voters reject party of scolds’

🎶 Where have all their voters gone? 🎵

Anyone else think Democrats might have won the presidency had they nominated Joe Manchin? But they’re not that kind of party. They were once. The party of Truman and JFK? 🎵 Gone to graveyards, every one. 🎶

Kamala Harris ran a fairly decent campaign, given what she had to work with. Better than John Kerry or John McCain, as we recall. Those who say Kammy should have bared her soul on Joe Rogan’s podcast miss the point. That would be like booking Elton John for the Sturgis motorcycle rally instead of Kid Rock (which happened). So we say to our Democrat(ic) … acquaintances: don’t blame the salesman, blame the product!

Not even Phil Woodman (“¡Ay, caramba!”) could sell DEI, The 1619 Project, sex changes for criminals, boys in the girls room, a porous border, defunding police, truck drivers paying off college loans, unrestricted abortion, bans on fracking, gas stove bans, the price of groceries, packing the Supreme Court, demonizing straight men — all pitched with insufferable condescension to the rabble.

“The party of prigs and pontificators suffers a humiliating defeat,” crows one survivor.

 Blaming the customers

“Voters reject the party of scolds,” says another. Problem is, the loudest voices in the party of prigs and pontificators are still scolding.

“The Confederacy won; Why Donald Trump’s re-election is a win for white supremacy, xenophobia & hate.”

Democracy Now! is only saying out loud what the average Democrats whispers. Over at The Nation, Jeet Heer indicts “the general bigotry of the American public.” Paul Fanlund, publisher of The Capital Times here in Madison WI, mocks widening his party’s appeal:

We need to better understand these non-college white Trump voters and start to better position Democratic candidates to speak to their issues and concerns. Speak to what? Speak to their racism, their sexism or their selfishness? You tell me.

We will tell you, Paul! Trump doubled his black support in Wisconsin and actually won Hispanic men by 10 points. Because of scolds like you.

Voters to elites: Do you see me now?
There will be some on the left who will say Trump won because of the inherent racism, sexism and authoritarianism of the American people. Apparently, those people love losing and want to do it again and again and again. — David Brooks in The NY Times (!!!)

Kammy and Joe will go peacefully

We’re not so partisan that we can’t acknowledge Kamala Harris performed a true public service: she graciously conceded — dare we say, “peacefully and patriotically.” But …

Maybe this time around progressives won’t promote Trump’s impeachment on Inauguration Day! Maybe various CIA and FBI operatives (past and present) won’t peddle partisan dossiers from foreign spooks. Maybe just one of the light-night TV hosts could be a little more Johnny Carson than Jimmy Fallon. Democrats might even try to widen their appeal beyond Hollywood and the college campus, if Mark Pocan and AOC will permit. As for liberal lawfare, the greatest jury in the world has spoken — the American voter. Even us RINOs must respect that.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Democrats should come to grips that they lost to the January 6 insurrectionist, Donald Trump. They can blame the salesperson but this time, not even Barack Obama and Bubba Clinton could sell this product. (We know because they tried.). So who are Democrats even now bruiting about as their next white knight savior? Gavin Newsom of California!

🎵 When will they ever learn? 🎶

“Governor Newsom convenes a special session of the Legislature to protect California values” – Governor Newsom’s official site today. https://www.gov.ca.gov/2024/11/07/special-session-ca-values/
Glad to see he’s begun his 2028 presidential campaign by refuting the sensibilities of the rest of the country.

Your next WisACT meeting is gonna be… awkward.

    Or has it folded already?

Why? We supported civil discourse and trust in honest elections. Problem with that?

Civil discourse. Your boy Haynes has already retweeted Garry Kasparov comparing Trump to, you guessed it … Hitler.

        Good luck with your “discourse”.

Being part of WisACT does not mean you can’t have opinions and share them. Either read and understand what they are about or you’ll continue to publicly express your ignorance.

Steve doesn’t seem very civilly discoursive to me to keep bringing up Hitler and end of Democracy but YMMV.

If it’s all just opinions the civil discourse on Blaska’s blog is unmatched!

Look at the election by county map to realize that we are not a country divided 50/50 between Dems and Reps. If it boiled down to one thing it was almost every county versus the Uniparty in Washington.
The pundits, the pollsters, the media were all wrong again. Frequently wrong but never in doubt is their motto.
I say this to the Uniparty in Washington, “We’ll forgive and forget… but we remember.”
The rotten to the core FBI, CIA, DIA, NSA, the FISA Courts, the lawfare inquisitors, the Soros DA’s and yes, the PNut and Fred assassins.
The legacy media has committed suicide which was apparently preferable to death by derision.
Oh the joy of knowing the fear and loathing of the DEI hires in Washington; the Pentagon, FEMA, Secret Service, the BS non profits and NGO’s feeding at the government tit and our expense. These orcs will be driven from their caves and into the sunlight.
The first lady, the Uber Democrat, Jill Biden strode smiling from the voting booth clad in a bright red pants suit because SHE VOTED FOR TRUMP. See Squire? She made up your vote.
So, remembering that fifty percent of good writing is hiding your sources, I again pilfer a statement from an Althouse commenter, “My schadenboner is harder than Chinese arithmetic.”
    TRUMP! You magnificent bastard!

And on a more patriotic note. The best thing about the election, besides the unforeseen margin, was that it was the “Just Folks” election.
For all the intersectional umbrage pounded into us, all the millions of dollars spent to remind us that we are different tribes that should be at each others’ political throats, that we have two national anthems according to Roger Goodell of the NFL, despite all this, it turns out that we have much more in common than not.
We are Americans, we tolerate, hell, we embrace each other. We reject tribalism. We are all “just folks.”
      And now more than ever.
      God bless America.

As long as California money has flowed into Wisconsin elections unchecked, much to the detriment of us citizens who have to live with Supreme Court Justices, a lefty Governor, and other assorted collectivist authoritarians, it’s only fair that we join in the fun.

Actually i believe that Tulsi would have been a landslide victor. Manchin, please he may have saved the republic by saving the fillibuster but then turned around and stabs his coal country constituents in back with the watermelon new deal. Green on outside all marxist red on the inside. Tulsi has my utmost respect and I actually believe she would make an excellent executive branch leader.

I respectfully disagree. Trump has many able wingmen and women but only he is tailor made to take the flak first then let his sqadron mates accomplish their many missions.

In 6 months it will be a daily battle for (not that kind of) Dr. Jill to convince him he’s no longer POTUS.

She’s better off just building a replica Oval Office and hiring actors to keep him busy. Maybe she could get that Josh Lyman actor. I doubt he has anything else going.

What will Kamala do? Let’s recap her skills:

Paul Fanlund (and his progressive ilk) can continue to stick his chrome dome in the sand about everything that average voters care about. He would apparently rather sell sh!#@y newspaper subscriptions than win big elections. And as history shows, he’s a miserable failure at both.
