Jill Stein and Cornel West will appear on Wisconsin ballots, despite the best efforts of Democrats to defend democracy by clearing the ballot for Kamala and Coach Tim.

Now that Bobby Junior’s brain worm has burrowed into Donald Trump, Jill Stein, in particular, returns to her role as the Great Pretender/Big Spoiler. In 2016, Jill poached enough votes from the Hildabeast here in Wisconsin to elect Donald Trump President of the U.S.A. Jill’s big issues are “income inequality” and a “Green New Deal.” Is also pro-Gaza. Should do well here in Madison WI.

At least, Green Party Jill is not faking a move to the middle, unlike the Democrats’ ticket. Chicago conventioneers last week went all 4-F: flag, faith, football, and family. Kamala stayed on script, not allowing the words “diversity,” “equity,” or “inclusion” to scorch her lips. Even promised “the strongest, most lethal fighting force in the world.” (Recalls John Candy’s “lean, mean, fighting machine” in Stripes.) Only briefly mentioned race — her mother was “a brilliant, 5-foot-tall brown woman with an accent.” But pretty much kept identity politics at arm’s length. Wink wink!

 Dane County is oppressed?

Madison WI may be on political Newfoundland time — six months behind Columbia University, a year behind Berkeley CA, and an hour and a half from Milwaukee. Either that, or Dana Pellebon didn’t get the DNC memo. The candidate for county executive hereabouts does not embrace identity politics so much as she makes love to it on the pizza table. The candidate boasts she checks three boxes:

• the second black female county executive in the nation
• the first black female county executive in Wisconsin
• the first queer female county executive in the nation.

But did her mother have an accent? (Or identify as a woman?) Dana Pellebon’s campaign is DEI or Die! Reverse discrimination in overdrive! Our Dana for Dane County is also a board member of Freedom Inc., the bullies who shut down school board meetings and drove school resource police officers out of our public schools. Serves as a director of Urban Triage — Brandi Grayson’s outfit. (“Brandi just loves f* * *-ing white people.”)

Candidates who fight oppression give us the willies. Identity politics is Ms. Pellebon’s hail Mary throw into the end zone. She  emerged from the four-way primary election a poor second with 17.2% to State Rep. Melissa Agard’s 57%. (Yet another ballot line Blaska is leaving empty.) So why not guilt trip (verb, transitive) Madison’s self-flagellating progressives?

Blaska’s Bottom Line: The indentured servants underfoot here at the Manor long for a candidate with the guts to say that poverty, illiteracy, and crime are the foreseeable consequences of bad personal choices. Bad Mr. White Man did not force you to skip class and break into parked cars. Our campaign brochure would say gummint can hire teachers but cannot cure stupidity! That “oppression” is — in most cases — self-inflicted. Come to think, we did say that. We lost.
