A Federalist Society for teachers!

And more choices for school board!

At least our progressive … acquaintances recognize the toxicity of critical race theory because they deny teaching it (but if they did it would be O.K.)

When you fire a white “positive behavior coach” for trying to defuse a black girl’s classroom tantrum, you’re not just teaching critical race theory. You’re practicing it! (Read & weep.)

We do agree with the Wisconsin State Journal that legislating against CRT is less effective than getting control of our schools. The sometimes reasonable Ross Douthat of the New York Times quotes Samuel Goldman of George Washington U.:

“Statute books are where conservative curriculum reforms go to die.” The problem isn’t just that the new statutes are too broad or too ambiguous. “It’s that they target ideas rather than the structure and personnel of educational institutions.

18th-century-school-roomDouthat: “So long as the institutions that train and represent public education’s personnel are dominated by liberals, ideological trends within those institutions are much more important than any attempt to legislate against them.

It is axiomatic at the Werkes that if there be only five progressives in your town, four of them will sit on the school board. And the two conservative teachers will keep their heads down.

Got to get people outside the orbit of Progressive Dane and their ilk to run for school board. We’d also like to see some balance infused our schools of education. During his quixotic bid for a seat on the seven-member Madison Board of Education two years ago, Blaska did not ballyhoo the support of former governor Tommy Thompson. Tommy always understood the importance of local office and of education.

Gov. Thompson is now acting president of the University of Wisconsin System but dicker with curriculum and you get accused of censorship by the censorious, cancel culture Left. Douthat suggests the equivalent of a Federalist Society for education. We need conservative teachers to speak out. (We’re listening!)

Recall the sturm und drang accompanying the creation of the Tommy Thompson Center at UW-Madison as a kind of counterweight to the La Follette Institute? Would it be balanced, Democrats fretted?

Blaska’s Bottom Line: That’s a question never asked of liberal institutions.

What does it tell you that there was no competition for
Madison school board last election?

Tommy ain’t about to change anything. He’s clueless.

Public school education is the only system fostering “systemic racism” the pro-regressives decry. The websites @TheCollegeFix, @LegalInsurrection, and @CampusReform uncover this plainly.
    Two of my top favorite political cartoonists can be found there, too;
    Pat Cross @TheCollegeFix and A.F. Branco @LegalInsurrection.

CRT fastens slavery, Jim Crow and race inequality to everything that ever happened in our history. It does have one upside though, CRT is the fastest way for grade school kids to learn division.

The Campus Reform person probably did more in this short interaction to get these young people to actually think, than their Marxist professors do all year.

Public school teachers should be videotaped from the second they step into a classroom until the second they leave it. The videos should be freely available to every parent of every child they teach. The reason teachers have gotten away with spewing CRT and a sh*tload of other poisonous sludge into kids’ faces is because parents are largely unaware of what goes on in the classrooms their taxes pay for.

I think when kids had to learn from home because of COVID, parents finally got to see the rot their kids are being taught.

Nobody’s saying that teachers teach nothing but CRT. But schools of education in this country train them to weave it into just about every subject in the curriculum. When your mission is to indoctrinate rather than educate, no kid is too young to be targeted.

GD,HM – Thanks fer the VID. Yep, there ARE some common-sense, logical thinkers out there. Too bad the Progs hardly ever check truthful/meaningful news or website -They’re incestuous, unfortunately. Why consider anything outside yer comfort-zone when ya can just give a “reach-around” with pals… And YES again: Gary that’s so true. Except that it seems “actual parenting” has mostly gone by the wayside. It’s so easy to ignore the harm being done from age 6 thru 17 and get free babysitting by monsters from 7AM to #PM…. Drag Queens w/ fussy rainbow dildo’s and sassy wit? Much more important than Geography, Math, Reading etc. fer fragile minds. Gawd.

Their own professors probably don’t challenge them intellectually like this Campus Reform person did in a short period of time.

Agreed about poor parenting. Although I think parents who care are starting to see the truth about the toxic sludge their kids are being taught.

“Parents”? You mean those conservative fools that still think trump won, Covid is fake, shots have tracking chips in them. Those
(parents)??? The same parents who say the moon landing was faked, the earth is flat, Roger’s cares about G.B.? Those parents? The same right-wing nutballs who have kids who know they are a bunch of dip-shit morons? Those folks?
