Let’s find the root cause of progressivism

Blaska Policy Werkes is a nanoparticle, isonogenic protein-based blog proven 99 percent effective at entertaining readers in Phase III trials and 89 percent effective against critical race theorists, overly Woke progressives, and militant social justice warriors. Use only as directed. Report any unusual swelling or discharge on social media.

The gray lab coats at the Werkes are compiling a list of progressive buzz words that should, upon hearing, cause John and Jane Q. Citizen to howl like werewolves of London. (Ah-WOO!)

•   When a Prog says “Unmet needs,” he’s talking about shoveling more free stuff at the punks stealing your cars. Maybe a neighborhood pickle ball court will set the young warlords straight.

•   “Invest in” translates to “hold onto your wallets; we’re buying more gummint.”

•   “Nuanced” means you wouldn’t understand it, you knuckle-dragging Deplorable.

More nefarious is “Root Causes.”

Ankle bracelet

Somewhere, over the rainbow

Like the fabled Seven Cities of Cibola, the Left is always trying to find Root Causes. Which is why police from four jurisdictions finally caught up with a 17-year-old and two 15-year-old boys on Turbot Drive, Fitchburg WI. The three are believed responsible for a string of home burglaries and automobile thefts, as well as pistol-whipping a 14-year-old girl. (Progressives: Kids these days!) Found two handguns, one of them a 9 mm semi-automatic. (Progressives: Damn the NRA!) One of the younger boys was wearing a GPS ankle bracelet. In other words, this was not his first rodeo. (Progressives: Police Out of Schools!)

Because Dane County’s district attorney and Juvenile Court Judge Everett Mitchell are all about finding Root Causes. (A good bet is they trace them to 1619.) Until they do, young Marquon Webb and his playmates (you can be certain) will be equipped with new ankle jewelry, free to break into a garage near you.

(This is as good a place as any to renew our quest to charge the custodial adults of these whipper snappers with the same crimes — in adult court.)

I got yer Root Causes right here!

Which brings us to Kamala Harris. (As all things must.) The vice president will not go to the southern border for one essential rule of smart politics: avoid bad optics. A record 180,034 migrants besieged the border last month alone — eight times the numbers in the terrible awful days of that mean Mr. Mustard president. No, instead, our Kamala must travel to Guatemala in search of Root Causes. The essential Holman Jenkins gets down and pithy

Root Causes … is what you say when you know that what you’re doing isn’t going to work, the implication being that it really can’t be fixed at all.

The President of Guatamala (one pictures sandbags, fixed bayonets, and 24/7 firing squads outside his presidential palace) did his own précis on Joe Biden’s Day One de-Trumpificiation of immigration policy:

“The message changed to: ‘We are going to reunite families and we are going to reunite children.’ The very next day the coyotes here were organizing groups of children to take them to the United States.”

Blaska’s Bottom Line: In other words: Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the root cause of the assault on the border. By the same token, progressivism is the root cause of the upswing of crime in Madison and throughout the nation. Because they vilify personal responsibility! Until scientists find the Root Causes of progressivism, we must head it off at the border.

What are YOU doing to stop progressivism?

Great piece Dave, one of your best!

root cause: lack of fathers in black households. And the government has created a strong incentive to make sure it continues to happen. And the voters support the government year after year.

  3. Good Dog, Happy Man says:

If Commie Harris is looing for root causes, she should look closer to home, …
he’s usually social distance sitting 6′ next to her.

Rising crime rates are scary, but holding hundreds of Americans in solitary confinement for 5 months without charging them, with no bail and no representation is even scarier. This scares me to death, and I ain’t afraid of nuthin’. These so-called “insurrectionists” may be guilty of misdemeanor criminal trespass, but they’re being held as American political prisoners.

Putin is using the 1/6 protest against us, asking if Biden gave the order to shoot Ashli Babbitt. Given Biden’s pathetic performance at the G7, this quote by H.L. Mencken seems appropriate: “On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

That day has arrived but was very likely NOT by the people’s hearts’ desire. Biden is a mere usefool tool of the radical Left. He is the witting or unwitting architect of the invasion occurring on the southern border; he has handed complete control of it to the cartels that are raking in millions of dollars in drug and human-trafficking money. He’s allowing hundreds of law-abiding Americans to rot in jail for the ‘crime’ of supporting President Trump. Mencken again: “The kind of man who wants the government to adopt and enforce his ideas is always the kind of man whose ideas are idiotic.” (H/T: McCarthy).

Those moderates who say, “it can’t happen here”, are whistling past the graveyard.
Wake up and smell the coffee. It has. And it continues.

It’s high time to join and channel my inner Kriewald, “Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.” — H.L. Mencken.

      Ditto that, GDHM

Feel free to channel me any time, GDHM. Once again, Mr. Menken hits the bull’s eye. My biggest regret (though far from my only one) about the events of Jan. 6th is that they didn’t end with some choice throats slit (and some choice heads blown off). And that the proceedings didn’t shift from the Capitol to whatever basement Joe Biden was hiding in at the time. Instead we can look forward to a time in the not-too-distant future when the only question we’ll be asking ourselves is whether the blood in the streets will be running ankle deep or knee deep.

Really Gary, you seem to be a victim of arrested development, fixated on blood. Are you perchance, a vampire?

        • Batman says:

Do not pretend that you have not countenanced similar thoughts and feelings Voice.

Gary just happens to have the guts to openly declare what a bazillion others think and feel after years of being shit on by demonrats while suffering virtually no penalty along with understanding that being polite is interpreted by the radical Left as an invitation for more abuse including murder.

Just finished reading this blog post. You wasted not ONE word, and tied all into a nice, neat UN-arguable package. Thus far be it from me to comment further. The only item I might underline is the pundits’ recent focus on KaMaMa’s inexorable laugh, both in context and in it’s curiousness. She’s a very odd duck indeed.

  5. Gary L. Kriewald says:

Another item for the list of progressive buzz words: “domestic terrorist,” meaning anyone who voted or thought of voting for Trump. Antonym: “social justice warrior,” meaning anyone who burned, vandalized, or looted a business, tore down a statue, or attacked a cop.

Really Gary, You seem to be a victim of arrested development, fixated on blood. Are you by chance a vampire?

Batman: You do not know my thoughts and feelings. You appear to be projecting your silly insecurities. They do not stick to me.

    Have fun with them.

    • A Voice in the Wilderness says:

On second thought, “notions” is a better word choice than “insecurities”. And no Batman, I have never “countenanced” thoughts of killing my fellow citizens until their blood runs in the streets.

      Have you?
