Hounding the President’s attorneys!
Rather than reward an insurrectionist, the RINO Blaska voted Libertarian for President but Republican down ballot. January 6 was a disgraceful assault on the Constitution. Election denialism is for sore losers. But the greatest jury in the world re-elected Donald Trump, a stinging rebuke to the out-of-touch vacuity of the Democrat(ic) alternative.
Can we agree that Trump was as entitled to work the courts in 2020 as much as Al Gore? In so doing, he was represented in some of those cases by James Troupis of Middleton WI, for which Wisconsin’s Democrat(ic) attorney general wants some score settling. With precedent dating back to 1960 (when Hawaii’s alternative JFK electors were recognized), Jim assembled an alternative slate of electors for Trump in case the candidate’s appeals succeeded in court.
Argue his contention that an alternate slate should be recognized, there is no evidence that Troupis encouraged the January 6 insurrection. He presented an alternative, which Vice President Pence was wise to reject.
Just the same, Josh Kaul, Wisconsin’s Democrat(ic) attorney general, has filed 10 criminal felony cases four years after the fact, one for each Wisconsin elector, alleging forgery at 943.38(2). Josh Kaul, should anyone doubt, is running for governor to succeed Mr. Excitement, Tony Evers. He needs a head on his trophy wall.
“[Josh Kaul] will be Wisconsin’s Alvin Bragg.” — Vicki McKenna

It’s a classic case of lawfare, where the unlimited power of government can be brought to bear against a lone individual. Jim says he’s spent a half million dollars to defend himself in the last four years; that they’ve come after his family; that they’re trying to pull his law license.
“They’ve attempted to bankrupt me; they go after every lawyer who has attempted to represent me. … Every single day my wife … fears they’re going to break down our front door in the middle of the night. I thought when the civil case ended, it’s going to be over. I was wrong.” — Jim Troupis on Vicki McKenna’s radio program
Blaska’s Bottom Line: A bunch of us are going to stand up for Jim Troupis at 10:30 a.m. Thursday 12-12-24 in Courtroom 1A, Dane County Courthouse, 215 S Hamilton St, Madison WI.

Dave, I’ve pointed out to you the last time you made this claim that there is a unambiguous well understood legal basis to distinguish the Hawaii example, and what was orchestrated by Eastman, Chesbro, Guilliani and, in Wisconsin, Troupis for Trump in 2020. This critical distinction became blatantly obvious in the Pennsylvania case in 2020. That is, in one legitimate case, where the unauthorized alternate slate expressly stated that the slate only exists pending the final disposition of a successful claim in the final appeal. Trump’s cabal urged them not to insert that, and to leave the claim for an alternative slate even when all appeals had been rejected, so Vice President Pence could arbitrarily reject the one authorized slate. There is no — none — legitimate case where there is no such caveat in the claim for the alternate slate in Wisconsin which deliberately omitted the critical caveat.
If you want to knock Democrats on elections, there are valid places to attack, such as the retired security officials who claimed that the Hunter laptop was a Russian ploy.
But Dave, has Trump so horrifically debased truth that even good decent Republicans — what — have to prove their conservative bona fides by running with half of the Trump total utter nonsense. The distinction is critical, Troupis is not an sloppy idiot and could not not know what he was doing by refusing to put in the caveat that Pennsylvania Republicans insisted upon to be lawful. I feel similarly trapped from the other direction trying to defend crazy woke dogma like men who have expressed female gender must be allowed to play on women’s competitive teams.
Can we not both shed the remnants of our sides palpable demonstrable nonsense so we can finally as a nation move forward on the basis of truth?
Sorry, but your “unambiguous” example seems rather ambiguous….
Check out 1876 and a few others.
“there is no evidence that Troupis encouraged the January 6 insurrection.”
Insurrection?
Per HoR Barry Loudermilk (GA-11) Chairman-Committee on House Administration’s Subcommittee on Oversight
(bolds/caps/italics mine throughout)
MONEY QUOTE: President Trump Ordered Pentagon Leaders To MAKE SURE IT WAS SAFE‘, A Directive Which They Ignored.”
It gets worse.
“My Subcommittee worked with the DOD IG in good faith throughout our investigation to provide multiple opportunities for the DOD IG to produce corroborating materials or evidence to support their conclusions, unfortunately, the DOD IG CONTINUES TO PROMOTE AN INACCURATE NARRATIVE that protects senior Pentagon officials and ATTEMPTS TO CAST FAULT ON THE D.C. NATIONAL GUARD, who were ready and waiting less than 2 miles from the Capitol but unable to respond on January 6 due to lack of communication from the Secretary of the Army.
“My Subcommittee released transcripts that show that not only were POLITICAL CONCERNS OF ‘OPTICS’ at play, but that DOD OFFICIALS CONTINUED TO DELAY AS THE RIOT AT THE CAPITOL WORSENED. THE EVIDENCE IS CONCLUSIVE: DOD OFFICIALS MISLED CONGRESS INTO BELIEVING THAT ‘HELP WAS ON THE WAY’ WITH FULL KNOWLEDGE THAT IT WASN’T.”
One more thing.
MSDNC (sic) says they’re EVIL Righties, ergo, there’s Nothing To It…so…never mind.
The Gotch
No one said Troupis encouraged the insurrection. They are saying he faked the electors that were sent from Wisconsin.
The fake electors broke the law. They want to end this; simple, admit what you did was wrong. Why do we always need to go through this crap about “they are coming for me”, “my family is hurting”, “the money”. It’s been over 4 years; end it. I don’t see any of you standing up for people like Cheney who is under constant threat from tRump to been sent to prison. Gableman made a fortune off this mess. Tell him to give back all that taxpayer money.
Must be a slow Blog Day– “insurrection”?
They are all busy grieving over Kari Lake not getting the job in Mexico and binge watching the Grinch movies.
Dave, seriously, you actually used the quote, “fears they’re going to break down our front door in the middle of the night”. No more needs to be said.
