For four years, Joe Biden’s tight inner circle or “politburo,” as some call it, restricted access to and stage managed a stumbling, cognitively impaired cipher in order to trick voters into another term in the world’s most powerful office. Was a greater political scam ever perpetrated on the American people?
Especially startling when we see, up close and almost every day, Donald Trump engaged with sharp cookies like Zelensky of Ukraine and Macron of France, even sparring with them. I.E., like a real President! Joe Biden went 11 months without a cabinet meeting until finally presiding over one in late October 2024 — with scheming wife Jill seated next to him! And they called Nancy Reagan a dragon lady!

Chief among the malefactors is Mike Donilon, informal leader of “the Politburo” and a figure who blends the ethics of Bob Haldeman with the avarice of Bob Menendez. …Next is Steve Richetti, Biden’s first chief of staff Ron Klain, Anita Dunn, Hunter and Jill Biden (“or ‘Lady MacBiden’ as Alexandra Pelosi referred to her”), Anthony Bernal, her chief of staff, who exerted more power than perhaps any other chief of staff to a first lady.
Rounding out this rogues’ gallery are senior communications staffers TJ Ducklo and Andrew Bates, “who behaved like the mooks in a third-rate mob movie.” Don’t know why he doesn’t indict Jen Psaki (now on MSNBC) and Karine Jean-Pierre, Biden’s spokespeople. Or Biden’s personal doctor, Kevin O’Connor. Politico’s Kirchick makes a point that we made a good week ago: none of the Biden books just out “are interested in the essential role that the media played in the cover-up … because it interfered with a higher priority: saving the country from Donald Trump.”

At least with Trump, what you see is what you get (including his periodic gyrations to the strains of “YMCA”). When he meets with world leaders, he’s not mumbling through a script held in his trembling hand while his aides stand by fervently praying he can manage even that much. Remember the line “Let Reagan be Reagan”? Nobody needs to say that about Trump.
