Why is Brandi Grayson getting paid more than the governor of Wisconsin?

Are there no city audits?

Paul Soglin, mayor of Madison for 22 years over three non-consecutive terms, has become the face of opposition to the City of Madison’s referendum seeking to blow past state-mandated revenue limits by $22 million. Soglin exposes the lavish executive pay the City awards its so-called non-profit service contractors. Soglin cites three examples:

Non-profits funded by the City show lead staff receiving compensation of $290,242; $320,000; and $545,038. There is no accountability or explanation as to why the public is funding organizations with such extraordinary compensation.

Blaska Policy Werkes fills in the blanks:

Defund the Police and reparations advocate Brandi Grayson, CEO of Urban Triage, is the one making $290,242/year, according to links to IRS Form 990. That’s almost double the governor’s salary of $152,756; almost double the mayor’s pay, too. In one year, Grayson’s compensation more than doubled from the $123,976 her organization reported in federal filings for 2022. For an organization with a $10.5 million budget. The organization’s website says it combats “taste [sic] violence, mass incarceration, housing shortages, police brutality … equity, and social justice.” (Might “taste violence” be a misspelling for “state violence.”)

Michael Johnson at Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County pulls down $355,542 for his $9.5 million operation (up from $307,596 in 2022).

M. Adams took the gold with a $545,038 salary in 2021 at Freedom Inc., with a budget of $7.8 million. (Its budget is now down to $4.2 million — an encouraging trend!) The woman left the organization the next year. Her social justice warriors disrupted school board meetings, harassed speakers, vandalized the MMSD administration building, and F-bombed the personal residence of the school board president in its successful effort to expel school resource police officers (but not disruptive students).

 ‘Unconsciously weaponizing whiteness’

Brandi Grayson

Commuters may remember how Brandi Grayson shut down rush-hour traffic on E. Washington Avenue in 2015 to “protest” the shooting of Tony Robinson Jr. And five years later, protesting George Floyd’s demise, Urban Triage and Freedom Inc. organized …

Protesters [who] shut down the Beltline, John Nolen Drive and other major streets throughout Madison. They showed up outside the houses of elected officials, including Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne and School Board President Gloria Reyes. … “It’s a lot of work,” Grayson said with a laugh. — WI State Journal

She’s still at it. After news media reported her books showed a $100,000 discrepancy, the well paid CEO took to the publication Madison 365 in September to accuse Madison leaders of “misogyny and anti-blackness.”

Sadly, most of the harm I’ve experienced in the last six months has come from individuals who claim to be allies. They have used their position and proximity to whiteness to unconsciously weaponize it against us, with no sense of obligation to support one of the only black organizations dedicated to housing, education, agriculture, and entrepreneurship in the way that we do.

→ Brandi Grayson just loves what she calls “f-ing white people … in the hell hole of Madison WI.” (Read & Weep)

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Have any of the city-contracted organizations been audited?

Why is there no ceiling on CEO compensation?

Brandi Grayson made $290,242 as top dog for Urban Triage, Inc.? It better be true, as it’s considered poor form to lie to the IRS.

Side note: Her outfit’s organizational mission is EMPOWER BLACK FAMILIES. Brandi has excelled at empowering Brandi Grayson.

Do tell! Urban Triage finds itself $100 G’s over budget.

Grayson could kick ALL THAT back and STILL be pulling down WELL MORE than both Evers & SRC.

You think these people give a toss about any Appearance Of Impropriety?

      Same here.

“ ‘f-ing white people … in the hell hole of Madison WI.‘ ”

H/T for one of many egregious episodes of the talented Ms. Grayson’s well-documented virulent RAYcism, an approach which pays well; in the 77 Square Miles Surrounded By Sea Of Reality, leastways.

Have any of the city-contracted organizations been audited?

Funniest thing; former FreeDUMB Inc. community organizer/storefront glass breaker/riot provoker/firestarter/private property destroyer…I mean…co-executive director M. Adams BOLTED ~ 28 months ago.

Funniest thing, 2.0; you have to dig pretty deep to discover her last year’s salary was $540 large….deeper still for her (?) benefit package.

At the time, a Werkes commenter suggested that that abrupt departure was just ahead of an audit, but nothing since; that’d be SO Madison to let that slide, am I right?

Anywho, Urban Triage and FreeDUMB Inc. are a piker’s bLack LIES Matter: Nothing more than a street hustle which deftly, and with aplomb, targets an incredibly vulnerable demographic; White Guilt Saturated Lefties.

“Blaska’s Bottom Line: Have any of the city-contracted organizations been audited?”

Last summer at one of the pep rallies for the mayor’s referendum, we asked that exact question of Chief of staff Sam Munger.
After some hemming and hawing, he said he didn’t think so.

Thanks to our intrepid platinum subscribers, it appears we have the answers to the gifted grifters:
Brandi Grayson $290,242; Michael Johnson $355,542; M. Adams $545,038. None dare call it Madison reparations!

Doesn’t Urban Triage also get money from Dane County? I think I saw an ad on TV for Urban Triage. They must need more money.

Yer DAMNED SKIPPY they do; eight (8) figure range!

I think I saw an ad on TV for Urban Triage.

You probably did, they’ve been running during the 05:00 to 06:00 local news.

      They must need more money.

Mo’ Money is definitely the pitch, but factoring in Grayson’s body of work and The Gotch’s cynical nature, he suspects it’s a more of a WANT than it is a NEED.

CCAP the potty-mouthed Ms. Grayson sometime; she’s no stranger to Circuit Court proceedings and a serial DEADBEAT, as well.

  8. […] Supv. Weigand is calling for an audit of Brandi Grayson’s Urban Triage. The liberal super-majority says Urban Triage is doing its job. Might be. But shouldn’t our elected officials look at the exorbitant salaries human service contractors are making off the poor? Like Brandi Grayson’s $292,242? (Read & Weep)  […]
