We were brought up in the middle class

drinking beer, not wine!

The head groundskeeper stuck his snoot into several bottles of wine earlier this month while visiting relatives in another state, with the difference being not the volume vanquished but corks instead of screw tops. Swear this interloper from the sticks used proper technique but the cork crumbled into the bottle despite his best efforts. To clear the little bits of cork, some of the wine needed to be poured into the sink. Honest!

While consuming the dark red liquid, the faded label caught our eye. It read: “Chateau Haut Brion 1985.” As Otis Day and the Knights sang, “WAI-AI-AIT a minute!” That’s one of Bordeaux’s five “first growth” Premier Cru Classé wines, if we are not mistaken.

And we were not. A frenzied consult with Mr. Google advised that the 39-year-old vintage disappearing down our gullets fetched $2,559 per bottle. This caused the rate of consumption to slow from slurp to sip to savor. Swirling of glassware occurred; smacking of lips could be heard. It was, indeed, vin trés bien! Yet, our high school economics invoked the law of diminishing returns — probably kicking in sometime around the first hundred dollars. Augmented by a little middle class prudery. It can’t be THAT good!

 Kamala class!

Which may be why one of the presidential candidates answers every question by claiming to be a daughter of the middle class. (Which refutes the notion that the ABC debate moderators fed her the questions. If they did, she forgot the answers.) It’s become a meme to every question. “I grew up in the middle class.”

But like everything out of the woman’s mouth, it is a lie, right? Our social media feed helpfully explains that her father was a professor at Stanford University and her mother a biomedical scientist at UC Berkeley.

“She never worried about where her next meal was coming from, or if she was going to have a working car or place to live,” argues Facebook friend Dianne Buss-Jubeck. “She has no concept of what many Americans go through.”

Help us out here. Kamala Harris can’t relate to our economic situation but Donald Trump can?

 Make wealth, not war?

By most reckonings, Trump has been our wealthiest President, supplanting our first President, George Washington. This list puts JFK second. TitleMax puts JFK way down the list at Number 23, probably because the man never took possession of his wealth; it was held in trust. Nixon made more money, albeit after leaving office. Thomas Jefferson ranks in the top five in every list we’ve seen. In 1787, Jefferson took home from his visit to Bordeaux six cases of Chateau Haut Brion. The man had taste — expensive tastes.

Harry Truman is the poor man on the presidential totem pole, which seems about right, inasmuch as he once went bankrupt as a Kansas City haberdasher. His wife owned their home in Independence MO. Abe Lincoln was the eighth least wealthy President. We don’t say poor, because the man made a good living as a corporate railroad attorney. None of these guys worried about the next meal. Most of them grew their food!

We get it: professors at prestige universities like Kamala’s parents make good money; although her father fled the coop early on. But not Chateau Haut Brion 1985 wealthy.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: We cannot correlate successful presidencies with personal wealth. Progressives go scrounging under freeway overpasses to find planning committee members. We Republicans tend to put our faith in people who have succeeded somewhere outside of politics — whether in business, war, or sports. Eric Hovde should be celebrated for his success, not disparaged. Maybe, even, elected! (We’re waiting for The Capital Times to call Tammy Baldwin a career politician.) Failure, and damaged corks, we can do for ourselves.

Is wealth an attribute or a demerit?

Dean Phillips who was stopped in his tracks by the Democrat Oligarchy, is also a billionaire and claimed to be independent because of it.

Makes sense. Certainly easier to buy off an ex-bartender as we’ve seen.

Also, helping you out: Trump never claimed to be middle class.

My wine of choice is Prairie Fume (pronounced foo-may, don’tcha know) bottled and corked by Wollersheim Winery in good old Prairie du Sac. $10.00 a bottle, on average.

Yikes! The only time I tasted Prairie Fume I thought I’d grabbed a bottle of Listerine by mistake. Never went near anything bearing the Wollersheim label since. My vin ordinaire is Charles Shaw (aka two-buck Chuck’s though nowadays it’s twice that) available at Trader Joe’s. They did a blind taste test with wines costing over a hundred dollars a bottle and Chuck’s brand came out first.

I’ll give the Charles Shaw vino a try. It might be time to expand my horizons.

Nothing like expanding one’s horizons–especially when it’s easy on the pocketbook!

“Progressives go scrounging under freeway overpasses to find planning committee members.”

Jeepers Blaska…to paraphrase Corporal ‘Stitch’ Jones (Mario Van Peebles in Heartbreak Ridge): “You Been Freeze Dried Or Doing Hard Time? Lefty Hasn’t Scrounged Under Freeway Overpasses To Find Planning Committee Members For Centuries.”

Nowadays, they obsequiously sift through academia and the talentless political class to find otherwise useless, box-checkin’ melanin positive Didn’t Earn Its, which they then meekly offer up to the Congressional bLack Caucus for approval.

Thanks for unmasking Harris’s ludicrous tale of having sprung from the middle class (as tiresome as hearing Biden rambling on about his supposed working class roots). Of course, the facts are there for anyone who cares to see them–as opposed to those who, like 90% of Madisonians, would believe her if she claimed to have been spawned somewhere in the Crab Nebula. If there’s such a thing as the upper-upper-upper middle class, Kamala’s parents qualify for membership.

Yeah, she is on her way to making up stories about her life like Joe did. Waiting to learn if she ever plagiarized something…

Kacklin’ Kamala’s KaKa stories are legion, just to name a few: Her Fake Holiday Kwanzaa made-up horse$#!t, and she did plagiarize (an exclusive despicable Lefty province!) MLK, Jr. with her epically inane FWEEDOM pilferage.

Thing is, White Lefty Guilt inundated despicable Lefties eat this $#!t up, and beg for more!

Kamala Harris Was Not A PROGRESSIVE PROSECUTOR

And the devastatingly searing: On Kamala Harris

Kamala or McDonald’s will not answer the question if she worked at McDonald’s or not. Politifact: “No, McDonald’s didn’t say there’s ‘no record’ Kamala Harris worked at the fast food chain.” As far as I know, McDonald’s has said nothing at all, so Nor did McDonald’s say there is a record of her working there? Where’s the Capital Times who constantly laid into Scott Walker for working at McDonald’s as a teen. He has the pictures and the proof at least which is more than Madame Word Salad.

Kacklin’ Kamala is decidedly STOOPID (sic) and won’t do any unscripted interviews/pressers for fear this will become painfully clear to her base, who, as fate would have it, are decidedly STOOPID themselves.

    (bolds/caps/italics mine throughout)
“STUPIDITY IS A MORE DANGEROUS ENEMY OF THE GOOD THAN MALICE. One may protest against evil; it can be exposed and, if need be, prevented by use of force. Evil always carries within itself the germ of its own subversion in that it leaves behind in human beings at least a sense of unease. AGAINST STUPIDITY WE ARE DEFENSELESS. Neither protests nor use of force accomplish anything here; REASONS FALL OFF DEAF EARS; FACTS THAT CONTRADICT ONE’S PREJUDGEMENT SIMPLY NEED NOT BE BELIEVED. For that reason, GREATER CAUTION IS CALLED FOR WHEN DEALING WITH A STUPID PERSON THAN A MALICIOUS ONE.” – Dietrich Bonhoeffer

*The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a key inflation index, hit an OVER 40-years high. The CPI increased 8.5%, the highest increase rate since December 1981
    *Food Bank/Pantry usage skyrocketing
    *Personal savings ↓
    *Foreclosures ↑ 11%
*Personal and Business bankruptcies ↑ 16%
    *REITs ↓ >11%
