We dared put up an Eric Olson yard sign!
We took a pass on witnessing “Cackles” (as a conservative acquaintance calls the sitting vice president). But reports say Kamala Harris packed the Alliant Energy Coliseum to its almost 11,000 capacity Friday night 09-20-24. Sounds about right.
If you see one Trump/Vance yard sign in town, say a little prayer for his safety! We’re following up a New York Times story that reports Democrats have opened a 15th — a fifteenth — campaign office in Dane County. That they have 23 “action teams” knocking on doors to identity voters.
In 2016, Hillary Clinton won about 148,000 more votes in Madison and its surrounding communities than Mr. Trump did, but not enough to overcome his 171,000-vote advantage in the rest of the state. In 2020, the fortunes reversed: Mr. Trump ran up a 163,000-vote margin around the rest of Wisconsin, while President Biden won Madison and its suburbs by more than 183,000 votes, winning the state. — “Madison WI and its blossoming suburbs are drawing newcomers for tech and health care jobs. With a swing state in the balance, Democrats see promise.” NY Times.
Home made yard signs in the Monroe Dudgeon neighborhood on Madison’s near west side

- Dane County is lopsided Democrat. In last year’s state Supreme Court race, Dan Kelly managed only 18% of our vote here; down even from the anemic 21% that the Republican candidate for governor managed in November 2022. Only 24 years ago, George W. Bush managed 33% of Dane County’s vote.
- No one votes like Dane County! Voter participation is off the charts. 62.3% of Dane County’s eligible voters went to the polls in the supposedly nonpartisan state Supreme Court race last year! Statewide, only 39% of voters turned out statewide — and that’s with Dane County factored in!
- In the 2020 Presidential race, 89% of registered voters in the county cast ballots.
- Dane County is the fastest growing county in Wisconsin and, therefore, carries more weight. Metro Madison added 75,000 residents between 2010 and 2020 and now accounts for a full 20% of the state’s total vote.
- Dane County has a total of ONE conservative among its 37 elected county supervisors.
Blaska’s Bottom Line: Hellz bellz, Tommy Thompson actually won Dane County in the Republican’s race for governor in 1994. The Times attributes the increased Democratic clout to the rise of high-tech start-ups like Epic, Exact Sciences, and Promega hiring young, well paid college graduates in addition to tenured faculty at the state university and organized state & local government employees. There is also, we would add, the heavy hand of peer pressure and a fair amount of self-selection. We know at least one couple who fled small town Wisconsin to be with like-minded partisans.
BTW: Eric Olson is the Republican candidate for Congress opposing Mark Pocan, who is a member of AOC’s anti-Israel Squad.

If satan ran for office on the democrat ticket, he’d win in Dane county. Sad…

Any…um…reports on how many had their transportation…er…arranged?
Kacklin’ Kamala©™® has even flip-flopped on BUSSING…she was (heh!) AGAINST before she was FOR it.

Satan’s a HE? Experience suggests otherwise…

Pasco: Please refer to Satan using a capital “H” when using the appropriate pronoun.
Additionally, Satan could also be a Them or an It or a Her.
“Satan could also be a Them or an It or a Her.”
Just three (3) other possibilities? Jeepers…there’s way the heck MORE than that.

Come on man. They all were bussed in on those new electric busses. Just think of how much carbon they didn’t add to the atmosphere.
Bob: The definition of “busses” is multiple kisses. You mean “buses”. And “bused” in is the correct spelling also.
And Vance said that the Springfield immigrants come from Hiasia.
I’ve seen one Trump sign in my travels around the Madison area, located in the Seminole Forest subdivision in Fitchburg. Sadly, even Fitchburg votes solidly blue lately. My wife has been commenting that it may be time to move, which would only make the problem of one party politics worse. Thankfully we still have the Squire and his blog for comfort, his pledge to sit this election out notwithstanding.
Did anyone see the recent story on one of the local news programs (Channel 27, I think) about some woman whose Harris lawn signs had been vandalized not once, but twice!? The reporter treated it like the crime of the century; we were even shown a doorbell camera’s recording of the act of sacrilege itself. I wonder what the coverage would have been had it been a Trump sign (assuming such an artefact could be unearthed in Madison). As for KH’s star turn at the Coliseum, she could have spent the entire time reading from the phone book and the herd of sheep in attendance would still have wet themselves on cue. The reason Madison voters go overwhelmingly for Democrats is that they can afford to. Open borders and rampant inflation mean nothing to the upper-middle class elites who make up most of this city’s population. They’re protected by their unions and their cushy tenured jobs with the city, state, and university–and lately the booming tech industry. None of those illegal aliens can afford to live here, and a few extra dollars at the grocery story is chump change to them. It’s also why they’ll happily bail the city out of its $22 million budget hole: a couple hundred dollars more a year in taxes is beneath their notice.
You are spot on. Then they move to Waunakee because of Lefty flight from crime and poor schools. The problem is that they bring all their ideology with them and soon turn a nice little town into a collective. The rainbow flag flies from Village Hall. Surprised the Palestinian flag isn’t flying right now. They shell out a million for their home and feel righteous as they travel past the Northport Dr. slums on their way to their tenured jobs. They won’t admit it but it’s whitey flight but with a Lefty spin. The recent SC race there was won by the baby killer 58-42%. Identical to nearby Deforest. It’s an incurable cancer that is growing everyday. The cure unfortunately is the total radiation of Dane County.
Must have been a slow newsday in flyover country, Gary.
Have you ever seen the local news programs in Madison? A typical lead story is the opening of a craft brewery or a 10-K run to “cure” some obscure disease.
You think someone would be that dump to put a Tramp sign out? Look at what happened to this Patriot. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/atv-driver-found-dead-elderly-man-struck-putting-trump-sign-rcna163364
that story appeared on 7/23. Likke Anon said; “a slow news day.”
There is a line in Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” that says
“Hell is empty
And all the devils are here.”
Find that glacial boulder that they hauled off, and place a plaque with those words upon it.
Careful not to rankle Kacklin’ Kamala…she’s STRAPPED and reportedly has an itchy trigger finger!

Sign I want to see:
We stand with Dick Cheney!
Harris/Walz ‘24
Never go full gangsta.
A spectacularly accurate observation, positively dripping with (heh!) Freudian Slip Irony, cluelessly uttered by Tampon Timmy AWOLz:
“We Can’t Afford Four More Years Of THIS”
Couldn’t (heh! 2.0) agree more!
