He’s cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs!
Our Facebook feed is full of photographs from MAGA nation proving — proving, mind you — that Democrats are photoshopping Kamala/Walz crowd sizes. Never mind that this canard is easily debunked; after all, there were eyewitnesses — many of them with cameras and smart phones, including news media of many stripes.
But the oracle of Mar-a-Lago says it is so and several million Pavlovian dogs ask for refills of the Kool Aid. What is this preoccupation with crowd size! How manly manly! Going back to the man’s inauguration in January 2017. When he revved up his Proud Boys 01-06-21, bigger crowd than M.L. King Jr. Having a Dream on the Ellipse! As if that mattered. Why obsess on something so easily disprovable — and completely irrelevant?! Why this matters is that it doesn’t. The man is obsessive.
The 2020 election was stolen? Courts state and federal issued 61 decisions saying not so. His own attorney general. The Republican governors of two states he lost. Polls of likely voters all through the campaign showed Biden was winning. But the My Pillow guy has proof? Jewish space lasers? Got to be the most sweeping and successful conspiracy since the faked moon landing. The man is delusional.
Brian Kemp is still his enemy? The Republican governor of electoral-rich Georgia — who says he’ll vote for you, anyway? The man is paranoid.

“Trump is looking like a loser again,”
a former Wall Street Journal editor observes. Gerard Baker writes that he watched the Republican nominee’s press conference at Mar-a-Lago last week, then “perhaps hoping that the written version might yield hidden intelligence not evident to the ear, [I] read the transcript. … Houston, we have a problem.”
By my calculation, about one-third of [his] remarks fell into three categories: false, obtuse, or lunatic. … We need to be clear about the problem. It isn’t, as some have suggested, that Mr. Trump has been wrong-footed by the Democrats’ switch from Biden to Harris. … The Trump of the past few weeks has looked and sounded … like the Trump of nine years ago. …
Why did he win in 2016? Because he was new and up agains the most tediously familiar and disliked politician in America. Even then, he only squeaked past Hillary Clinton by fewer than 90000 votes in three decisive states. — Gerard Baker

Erick-Woods Erickson asks:
If Donald Trump loses in November and your first thought is that it was stolen, ask yourself why it was a good idea to re-nominate a man who had it stolen from him even while he was the sitting President in charge of the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security and FBI with Republican Governors in Arizona and Georgia. Now, in 2024, Joe Biden is in charge at the federal level, Democrats control Arizona, and Brian Kemp and Brad Raffensperger are still in charge in Georgia. Really, a genius plan.
Then ask yourself if maybe instead of it being stolen it was because 100 days before the election he decided to attack Kamala Harris’s race instead of her positions.
→ A poll released 08-10-24 from The New York Times/Siena College gave Harris 4-point leads in three decisive states: Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.
No, Blaska is not voting for Kamala/Walz either. The woman is a political prostitute. (Forgive us for recycling the knee pad jokes.) Changed her positions on fracking. Suddenly this San Francisco Democrat is a crime-busting prosecutor. No longer supports Medicare for all — yet Bernie still supports her! The failed border czar promises to hire more border patrol! Whether you believe this election eve conversion or not, at least she’s not stupid.
Blaska’s Bottom Line: An interlocutor asks if Blaska thought the 45th President did a good job in his single term in office. So much so, Blaska answered, that he voted for his re-election. But cheap gas does not compensate for trashing the Constitution. Nancy Pelosi did not sic the Proud Boys on Mike Pence. That’s just cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs!
“The better option for evangelicals and conservatives is to show up and vote and leave that line blank,” Erickson counsels. That will force change while our Republican party goes into shock therapy.

Geesh, here we go again. David, although I respect your position, I do not agree with you. You should spend less time bashing Trump and instead divert your wrath towards the progressives. Trump, with all his bluster and warts, is still way better than the leftists he’s running against– you are indirectly helping their cause.
I appreciate your response but I seriously question whether the USA can survive a crazy man that is only getting crazier.
I would argue he’s less crazy than the Harris-Walz agenda. There is no perfect candidate; just “who’s worse”?
David, So are you saying you do not support Trump/Vance in 2024? Lol.
Fix your damn Facebook feed ya whiner.
Ghost of Reagan 2024!
If you believe the obvious–that Trump has gone over the edge–then not voting for Harris is pure performative politics. You can signal to your tribe that YOU have not gone over the edge, but also increase the likelihood that the man you see as untethered from reality, in fact, will become president. I hate it when the left engages in performative politics, it’s no prettier on the right. Show the courage of your convictions.
Mr. Squire, you are too wise and seasoned to believe a third party will win. It will be The Orange Monster or the Queen Bee.
Which candidate gives our country a better chance of surviving (as founded) to the 2028 election?
Due to the radical left’s gradual, and now sudden takeover of our country’s institutions, we’re viewed by the world’s Bad Guys as “almost” ready to be conquered. It’s easy ro envision that scenario, yes?
Why waste your vote, when you may be casting your last vote as a free man?
My last vote as a free man? Do you have information on my criminal activities? Otherwise, it’s Trump who says we need only have one more election, that being this November. You could look it up.
Dave, your points are spot on. However, 2 reasons to vote for Trump; judicial appointments and is do you want to hear her (awful sounding) voice for 4+ years? I AM SERIOUS. (I guess that is an advantage of her not giving pressers)
Both referendums got crushed. I guess the average citizen doesn’t want those fools in the capital putting their grubby meat hooks on any more of our money. 600k for Gabelman turned into 2 million and got them nothing. Good job Vos. Now Hovde is filling lawsuits because the media hurt his feelings. Trump and Musk just insulted the UAW. AGAIN. I guess they don’t need any workers voting for Donny. Carry on all you stable geniuses.
