Old Joe Biden is finished

What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.

Mr. Ecclesiastes got it wrong. What precedent is there for politics in America today? We are riding a fast-moving mudslide, sticky and unpredictable, destroying everything in its way, leading to an election no one wants.

This morning we do know one thing: Joe Biden is finished. The quiet part was said out loud. In an official document, written by a government watchdog. Joe Biden is cognitively impaired. Too old for his shoes. A doddering old fool.

“A well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” who can’t remember when he was vice president and too soon, one suspects, won’t know if he is President.

Scott Jennings, CNN’s token Republican, said last night it would be better if Biden had been indicted — charged for stashing Top Secret papers in his garage, next to the golf clubs and what looks like a discarded Saris Cycle Ops exercise machine (made here in town). Instead, special prosecutor Robert K. Hur said a jury would never convict the man for knowingly mishandling sensitive documents because a prosecutor could never prove Biden did so … knowingly.

Now would be a good time to panic

His advisers (that’s right, Joe, blame “staff” for your garage stash) pushed him in front of a ravenous press corps baying for blood. The groundlings at the Stately Manor caught it right away: mixing Mexico for Egypt in a discussion of Gaza. The President suggested he was distracted when he talked to investigators because he was dealing with the Hamas atrocities at the time  And why would any world leader sit for five hours of interrogation during a crisis over what (really, in the scheme of things) is a minor matter?

The indentured servants also noticed Uncle Joe attempting to remember the name of the church that bestowed the rosary after son Beau’s death … “Our Lady of … … …,” then lost the trail. The President of the United States also meets with dead people like Helmut Kohl, who died in 2017, not Angela Merkel. (Are they lookalikes?). He trips over sand bags. He wanders.

What do ya mean, the White House doesn’t qualify?

“Every red flag about Biden is now suddenly up at once.”

Erick Woods Erickson

Is the President ‘spry’?

We thought Ronald Reagan was old when he left the presidency at age 77. Joe Biden would be (note the conditional tense) 86 IF he finishes a second term. Which is why Kamala Harris is past tense, too. Vivek Ramaswamy, late-night miracle junk pitchman though he be, predicted during his final presidential debate that Biden will NOT be Democrats’ nominee. We thought then he was correct. Today, we know it.

RITOs (Republicans In Trump Only) base their deluded case, in part, on questioning how Sleepy Joe could defeat the One, True, Catholic, Holy and Apostolic Trump by hiding in the basement. (The 2020 election was held during Covid.) The Policy Werkes answers: That was the only way the poor man could win! Democrats let Trump punch himself silly like Muhammed Ali rope-a-doped George Forman in the Rumble in the Jungle. They’re hoping Trump purges his way to a more convincing defeat in this year’s rematch.

Validates the decision to withhold the President from the traditional Super Bowl half-time interview. But there is no hiding from Father Time.

Thursday night 02-08-24 gained Dean Phillips some air time. He is the wealthy Minnesota back bencher who has been daring to “say the quiet part out loud.” (“I’m sad to see the decline.“) He might be to Biden what Gene McCarthy was to LBJ in 1968 — the bench player who paves the way for a first-teamer like Bobby Kennedy.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: The U.S. Supreme Court looks like it will reinstate the old insurrectionist on the Colorado ballot. That forestalls a volley of tit for tats, with red states returning service to bar whatever Democrat receives the holy chrism. It won’t be Trump v. Biden. Maybe Steve Beshear, the Democrat(ic) governor of red-state Kentucky. Joe Manchin is available. Gretchen Whitmer, unkidnapped? The fewer tracks in the snow the better.

So, Trump’s the only candidate that democrat(ically) unsound, ostensibly Pro-Choice Lefty wants to keep off’n the ballot?

    Not exactly.

This is a disaster in my mind. There’s no way Biden would have been reelected. Even my Progressive acquaintances have acknowledged his decline and were ambivalent about voting for him. If he is not the nominee then the Democrats will put in somebody that is far more electable than Biden and they will win simply because he won’t be Trump. I don’t think I could handle four more years of democrat-inspired chaos and stupidity

I don’t want four more years of Democrat-inspired chaos or stupidity, either. Democrats are cold-blooded; they will cut Biden/Cameltoes loose while we are burdened with a MAGA-only criminal.

There’s 13 counts of racketeering against Trump related to the Georgia election probe consisting of: election subversion for trying to overturn the 2020 Georgia election.

On 8/14/23 the Fulton Co. Grand Jury indicted Trump for soliciting a public official to violate their oath.

Also conspiracy to commit forgery using fake electors.

Let us not forget mishandling of classified information, obstruction of justice, falsifying business records.

With each passing day, the titanic Democratic Party gets closer and closer to the iceberg of the Democratic National Convention. The longer they delay the unpersoning of Biden, the more likely the violent collision. At the convention. In Chicago. Does this sound familiar to anyone? To quote Todd Gitlin, “If you’re going to Chicago, be sure to wear some armor in your hair”.

In 1968, when Johnson dropped out during the primary season, Vice President Hubert Humphrey inherited the delegates previously pledged to the President. In 2024, “Hubert Humphrey” is pronounced “Cackling Word Salad”.

Summer travel tip: Best to avoid the front of the Conrad Hilton hotel this year from August 19 to 22, it may get all higgledy-piggledy and contusiony. On the other hand, maybe Biden can talk to Mayor Daley, Hoffman, and Rubin to defuse the tension and the need for Bactine and bandages.

Gotch, the only thing I’m reasonably sure about is that we serve a great Old Fashioned at the Bar, I need to lose 15 pounds before water ski season (Oxford comma!), and history. Back in 2020, with Biden at the top of the ticket, 13 incumbent Democrats were ousted and no Republican incumbent was defeated in the House. If the Dems strike the iceberg and Biden remains at the top of the ticket, an increasingly big “if”, I’m confident the Republicans hold the House.

In the Senate, the news is even better. There are 23 Democrats and the ilk that caucus with them up, leaving only 10 Republican seats to defend. Just off the top of my head Tester’s toast, Manchin is gone (Oxford comma!), and the 3 way race in Arizona will sink Sinema.

The Squire has done much Trump trashing here, some justified (Smoot–Hawley, a terrible idea in the 1930s and an equally terrible idea now), some not so much (Insurrection? Pure uncut TDS. Not one person in all these United States has yet to be even charged let alone convicted of insurrection.) but the one thing the RINOs and MAGAs can agree on is that President Trump made great judicial appointments. With the Senate again on the side of the angels, that bit of history will repeat. Huzzah!

Just a few of tRump’s gaffes. So let’s get real here; they both are flawed. The gop will lose the house on ethics and abortion. Plus they eat their own for no reason. Say Lankford everyone. Johnson can’t wipe his ass without someone wanting to kick him out. Boebert and Gaetz will not be elected again. The turtle is a has been. Tubberville is a commie douchbag. Greetings, Richard. I disagree with most of your conjectures, question the relevance of a few, and am unhappy with the structural coarseness of your comment.

Gaetz, if he runs, will win. Florida’s 1st congressional district is R+19 according to the Cook PVI.

I believe you are correct that Boebert will not win her current seat. Partly because the 3rd district is only R+6, she is less popular, and the Democratic challenger, Adam Frisch, is not insane and can outspend her 3 to 1, but mostly because she is not running in the 3rd this cycle. In late December, she announced she’s leaving the 3rd and will run in Colorado’s 4th congressional district (Cook PVI R+13). I believe she will lose in the primary to Colorado’s House Minority Leader Mike Lynch. Not sure how replacing one Colorado Republican with another wrests control of the House.

The abortion issue could have some bearing on the election’s outcome, but I think less than you would imagine. My reasoning is that seats vulnerable on this issue were cut from the GOP back in ’22. That, and inflation, border control, and war might trump it.

As for your “they both are flawed” conclusion, I guess you could call the abuse of the take-a-penny/leave-a-penny tray at the local dollar store and the taking over of Nakatomi Plaza to take hundreds of millions in bearer bonds as both sealing, therefor the same. I wouldn’t, but that’s just me. Such reasoning does explain how people from the party of Pelosi and Menendez think that GOP ethics is the key to victory 2024. That being said, if it rascals Captain Confusion across the finish line in August, I’m all for it. Yippee-Ki-Yay!

Richard, much of your latest screed seems to be related to ending the border catastrophe President Biden has inflicted upon us. Even if Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) is correct in his claims that President Trump had a hand in killing the Senate Amnesty Bill, there were other reasons to put down this 370 page complete sell-out. When the lead Democrat negotiator proclaims: Under this legislation, ‘the border never closes, and you are the party that wants to secure the border well…I’ll let you do the math on that.

As for the rest of 45’s policy agenda, it includes implementing anti-illegal immigrant strategies and a massive deportation operation which, oddly enough, is becoming increasingly popular in Democratic run sanctuary cities. Equally if not more important to me (and other prosperity loving people) is that many provisions in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) are scheduled to expire at the end of 2025. Trump will extend them. Biden will not, which amounts to trillions in new taxes.

For a complete listing of President Trump’s policies, see the Republican National Convention, coming to a town near you this year from July 15-18. Do you think the progressives that run Milwaukee will do as thorough a job of de-bumming the city as they did back in 2020?

Whether Trump had his hand in it or not, the border bill deserved to be thrown out like the trash it was. All it would have done was sped up the process for migrants to be here legally, and the influx of that many people is already a huge problem for the border states. There was three times as much money in the bill slated to protect Ukraine’s borders as our own. On what planet does that make any sense?

I’ve noticed the residents of the blue cities are changing their tunes on the border quick now that Texas is putting the problem on their doorsteps.

Here’s another Trump crime I’ll name: SEXUAL ASSAULT. The NY trial recently ended and his victim, E. Jean Carroll, won the case.

Really, expat, you must be either blind, attention-starved, in denial about your guy Trump, entering early senility, or you never outgrew the childishness need to be unreasonably contrary. I did not “strike out”. I stand by my words.

I am blind or attention starved,
      I don’t understand Trump.
I am senile or childish (help stamp out and abolish redundancy}.
I am unreasonably contrary. (first time you at least got the bat off your shoulder).

Trump is many unsavory things, but the sexual abuse (not assault) conviction was a complete miscarriage of justice. You’re telling me that a woman can sue a man over an alleged decades-old attack that had no witnesses or corroboration and be awarded a king’s ransom on a preponderance of evidence standard? That sort of asinine legal precedent should scare the living hell out of every successful man out there.

Small wonder that younger men are staying away from marriage. They’re smart enough to stay out of the scopes of psychotic, man-hating feminists (but I repeat myself) who have an axe to grind.

“What is the difference between sexual abuse and sexual assault?”

Obviously something legally significant or they would have convicted Trump of the latter, but irrelevant to the point I was making. Which is, that it’s ridiculous that one person’s uncorroborated testimony and absent of any physical evidence can result in a sex crime conviction.

“Can you really tell us what happened in that dressing room at Bergdorf’s department store?”

No, and no one and nothing besides Carroll can either. And if her story is to be believed, she was a fool to invite a man she just met into the dressing room if she didn’t want a sexual encounter.

“The FBI defines rape as “penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person without consent.”

Yes, I’m aware. By law, rape is a penetrating act. Which means almost no women can get convicted of it if they sexually assault a man. How convenient for them.
