Governing in a democracy means compromising and working incrementally towards ultimate policy goals. Clearly, even after we’re finally past Trump, Rs will still insist on their way 100% or nothing. This is a juvenile and unproductive stance.
Senator Lankford was told point blank by conservative power players “I do not want you to solve this during the presidential election”. This tells you everything you need to know about Cons’ approach to governing.

Border security is in the latter, as huge numbers of the electorate are screaming ever louder about.
