Blaska Policy Werkes

David Blaska, going out of his way to provoke progressives in Madison WI to make America safe for democracy!

Like the Brewers, Blaska Policy Werkes is built for the off-season!

Once every blue moon, the Head Groundskeeper does what he says he is going to do. Posing as average citizen “David Blaska,” he sat in with eight other citizens at one of three roundtables coordinated 10-04-23 by the headhunters hired by the Madison public school district to find yet another a new superintendent.

Monica Santana Rosen, head priestess of the Chicago-based Alma Advisory Group, moderated Blaska’s table. Must say, she was equanimous — especially when one self-righteous scold tried to censor Blaska’s comment that our schools should quit with the diversity, equity & inclusion scam and teach, instead, the one skill essential to all learning: self-discipline. Too many kids are not learning it at home. Our schools teach grievance and victimhood, instead. And bad manners, judging by that table mate.

The Scold responds and is responded to.

A bit later, Blaska asked a 40-year school volunteer at our table who she thought were the last good superintendents for MMSD and why. Suffice to say, the last two — Jennifer Cheatham and Carleton Jenkins — did not make the cut. There was also agreement that teachers hate the Behavior Education Plan, which wrests control of the classroom away from teachers and concentrates it in the Doyle Administration Building.

Rosen, as quoted by The Capital Times, adequately captured the sense of our table and perhaps the two others when she observed, “People really want somebody who is dedicated to Madison, someone who’s committed to being here, that’s really important to people.”

Blaska posited that the statute requiring school district supers to possess a doctorate in educational administration should be scrapped. They’re all marinated in critical race theory. Just as Tommy Thompson guided the UW system, think of how former mayor Dave Cieslewicz would be a good fit for Madison public schools. Or Kaleem Caire. Former mayor Joe Sensenbrenner? The crossing guard outside Toki middle school? Maybe Joe Parisi (if he wasn’t more Woke than a unionized Starbucks taste tester). We hear the county exec IS available. Me, I like Mike Koval for the job.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Is the legislature less likely to throw $614 million at American Family Field now that the Brewers have collapsed (once again) in the post-season? Do you blame Jesse Winker like we do?

    Koval! Koval! Koval! Koval! Koval!

Picture Koval entering the Olympic Stadium in Paris in 2024, bearing the Olympic flame.

At first, the chant is muted….Koval! Koval! Koval!

Then, it increases to almost deafening. After all,it is Mike Koval bearing the torch!

Ummm…I don’tknow where I’m going with this. BUT, Koval would be a fine choice f for MMSD Superintendent.

    Koval! Koval! Koval! Koval! Koval!

“Who do YOU think would make a good school super?”

A Milton McPike, a Wally Schoessow (The Gotch’s former FB coach & a pal), or a female equivalent.

Were someone of their ilk to rule the roost at 545 W. Dayton St., MMSD public education would be in a FAR better place, rather than chasing parents/students away because of an emphasis on indoctrication, chaos, and failure, AKA: DIE/CRT!

Wouldn’t say no to a Luca Brasi/”Boomer” Harris roaming the halls, either…

You use that word self-discipline a lot. “Too many kids are not learning it at home.” How did you instill it?

My wife and I taught discipline in our 2 children through love and establishing authority. We sent both children to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School in Madison. (A great investment; both now have master’s degrees.) The younger son decided to join the Army. There a several books on learning discipline. Try “Discipline is Destiny” by Ryan Holiday.

    2. How did your parents instill it? “Finish your homework.” “No desert until you finish your green beans” “Help your little brother.”

How about the principal at Sennett Middle School? He got fired by MMSD administration and rehired by the School Board after the teachers, parents and students rebelled.

I’m not a scold. I’m an idiot. I foolishly thought the point of the meeting was to provide input on the hire. The question on the table was “what are your hopes for the education of the children of Madison?” it’s a dumb question but I thought it should be answered in good faith. You were smart you knew the gig, it was a grievance session. I’d rather the conversation be about something other than (insert term related to race) but you’re as obsessed with it as the liberals you castigate, so you win. I was in error and I expected better from you.

    1. The question was indeed “what are your hopes for the education of the children of Madison?” Blaska answered that he hoped the children of Madison would be taught reading, writing, and discipline — not grievance and victimhood. That it was not your answer is irrelevant. It was MY answer and you did everything possible to prevent me from conveying that answer despite the moderator’s instructions that all voices would be heard.

I might have added that my wife refuses to attend another school board function because of how she was verbally and physically harassed the last time she attended. We were supporting keeping school resource police officers in the high schools. All the while, the school board and district personnel did nothing to maintain order. Me, I’m used to it. I decided to run for school board then and there. If the school board meetings were out of control, imagine the chaos in the classroom!

You reminded me of that chaos.

I did interrupt you, it was wrong to do so and not in keeping with the ground rules of the session. I am sorry for that. I misunderstood the purpose of the session as being a chance to learn about the facts of hiring a superintendent and offer input on qualifications. My impatience to get to what I thought was supposed to happen during the session got in the way of my judgment. Learning that there’s a requirement that the candidate have a PhD was precisely the kind of useful information I’d expected to be disclosed and discussed.

I hadn’t yet seen the article you brought to the session, so didn’t realize that the gauntlet had been laid. It seems that’s all public education boils down to anymore.

I’m frustrated by the state of the district. Madison is capable of so much more and it is personal because my kids are young and will be in the district for a long time.
