New Chicago mayor blames ‘No opportunities’ for youth riots

Have they tried socialism?

From National Review:

After hundreds of teenagers and young adults descended on the Loop in downtown Chicago over the weekend, destroying cars and brawling in the streets, mayor-elect Brandon Johnson cautioned against “demonizing” the vandals.

It “is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities,” Johnson said in a statement released on Sunday.

In Milwaukee, City officials planned tighter security for fans who gather in the Deer District to watch the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Playoffs. Officials are trying to prevent a repeat of the gun violence the downtown area saw last year during the playoffs.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Is it okay if we demonize progressive, teachers union-owned mayors like Brandon Johnson and Milwaukee’s Cavalier Johnson?

What opportunities would YOU offer these young folks?

Tangentially, don’t it escape attention that the regional and national media appears to have spiked news of the escalating insurrection in Chicago. Good luck finding news of the weekend festivities on the internet. It’s almost as if Hunter Biden was in Chicago, not Ireland with The Big Guy, such is the information blackout.

I’m disappointed by the lack of diversity in these mobs.

The new Mayor needs to make this priority #1!

“Starved of opportunities”? Really mayor-elect? If this is the case, it is the result of you and your teachers union not actually teachers these “youths” any valuable life skills in the public schools such as reading and math. In order to take advantage of “opportunities”, these youths need to be functionally literate, which they are not. These youths also need to be reined in but since that hasn’t happened at home or in the public schools, they know there are no limits.

You’re kidding, right? Surely that can’t be the case.

C’mon, they regularly hold their pudgy li’l hands back and genuinely beg to get pasted; it would be poor manners were someone not to oblige…
