Doesn’t Nashville TN make Mayor Satya Rhodes Conway look prehistoric with her slow-walking the use of police body cameras here in Madison WI?! (Answer: like a stegosaurus.)
Nashville Police responded to the mass shooting 03-27-23 at the religious school with alacrity and professionalism. Video from two officer-worn body cameras shows the officers stacking up so if one goes down, another can return fire.
A call to police came at 10:13. By 10:23, officers were inside the school. They shot the attacker at 10:25.
Waiting to confront the attacker was the mistake last year in Uvalde TX. Nineteen children and two teachers were killed. “Three minutes after the subject entered,” the director of the Texas Department of Public Safety later testified, “there was a sufficient number of armed officers wearing body armor to isolate, distract and neutralize the subject.”

Speaking of good police work: Credit the WI State Journal for reporting that the man arrested for fire bombing the pro-life headquarters last May donated money to Democratic candidates and left-leaning causes. Got him off a half-eaten sandwich! What fantastic detective work! a combination of high-tech and shoe leather. Should be an episode of cable TV’s Forensic Files (a program we highly recommend).
Blaska’s Bottom Line: Debate sexual dysphoria and AR-15 gun control all you want. The one indisputable takeaway is well trained police save lives.

A well trained AND fully staffed Madison police department, with officers wearing body cams and properly armed with guns and tasers as well as having the police stationed INSIDE the schools would seriously slow down the anarchy in the MMSD public schools and on the streets of Madison. We can’t have that, Dave! Police scare and victimize the criminals, don’t ya know! /sarc

To your point, the most RECENT HOMICIDE featured a coupla Felons In Possession Of Handguns (whose needs apparently hadn’t been sufficiently met) at the Homeless Apartments on Tree Lane, the latter no stranger to regular police…um…visits.

*How might counselors have handled it differently, and

Kentucky and Tennessee State Capitols have been stormed by Transurrectionists after yet another trans mass shooting.
Look at the videos from Tennessee’s and Kentucky’s state capitols being stormed yesterday and today and tell me it’s not worse than Jan. 6, 9/11, Pearl Harbor, the Challenger Disaster, the Hindenburg, the Holocaust AND the Civil War all put together.
Kentucky’s insurrection even had a costumed horned shaman too!

How come all those people who cheer–and demand that you cheer–over “firsts” for sexual fetishists (e.g., first trans admiral, first non-binary Sec. of Nuclear Waste) aren’t cheering over the first trans school shooter? Oh well, they’ll get to cheer each other on at the rally in D.C. called Trans Day of Vengeance (originally Trans Day of Visibility). To be held, appropriately enough, on April 1st. NOT the 1st. A trans person did a mass shooting at a school in Denver previously and there have been other trans/nonbinary mass shooters in recent years.
You can bet if they were all Trump supporters instead of Trans we would NEVER hear the end of it.

Many good, experienced and well trained cops opted out when George Floyd became a martyr to the cause. Who in hell wants to replace them? THIS is why Memphis happened.
Anyone that said, “Defund the Police” (or painted it on the damn street) is at fault.
It is as if America’s worst enemy said “First we hate on all the cops, then we delegitimize and defund them THEN we ‘decarcerate’ and divert the thugs with multiple felonies. We’ll call it disconnecting the school to prison pipeline. And if that isn’t enough we’ll install many district attorney and judges (upcoming election anyone?) who will either not prosecute or if convicted, release them soonest. Darrell Brooks comes to mind.
