Blaska Policy Werkes

David Blaska, going out of his way to provoke progressives in Madison WI to make America safe for democracy!

Madison’s police-free school experiment begins today

Madison high school parents: be on the alert!

Sending your teens off to school today? Teach them to dial 911 because the school resource police officers — all racial minorities — were expelled from Madison’s four troubled high schools a year ago. Because of critical race theory.

Now that in-school classroom teaching resumes, neighbor and mother Bonnie Roe points out that only five police patrol all of the Midtown police district between 7 a.m. and noon. That district is home to both Memorial and West high schools and two hospitals. If police have to take an mental health detention to Winnebago, near Oshkosh, that requires almost the entire shift of two officers.

At one point, the teachers union made brave talk that they would endorse the expulsion of the four police officers IF if … if … the district hired more counselors, social workers, mental health workers, school nurses and other professionals. The district expelled the four police officers — all minorities — but did very little extra hiring.

Midtown police district

The usual Defund the Police zealots … are going all Joe Biden over the withdrawal of boots on the ground at East, Memorial, West, and La Follete high schools. Like Peter L-W, from the lily white Vilas Monroe Street neighborhood. Listen to this woke warrior parade his progressive bonafides:

The desire to have police in schools isn’t about an actual need – it’s about a desire to impose police control on a small segment of public school students. Just as in the outside world, the rich and the white will still be able to commit crimes, while poor and minority students, without the parental resources to fight the charges will be criminalized for the minor things that kids do every day.

Like whacking Jovan Freeney in that drive-by shooting August 14? A parent in the Bay Creek neighborhood counters, via NextDoor:

Occasional fights? Try more like daily fights. My son was brutally attacked while boarding the bus after school by two unknown student thugs who were later found to have randomly attacked several kids. They got a hand slap because the school said “they were good kids”. Yea, good kids who sucker punch a kid in the head and then stomp on kid’s heads and necks. These aren’t kids scuffling, these are violent crimes. You just don’t hear about these criminal acts. My kids have seen students tasing other students, chronic drug use and sexual harassment regularly in their school. Wake up people, SROs are needed at schools!

Blaska’s Bottom LinePredict the date of the first school-related shooting in Madison.

    “What do you think?”

    What do I think?

I think Madisonians better get their collective heads out of their asses, get to the ballot box, and vote these socialists and Marxists out of their positions. The city is on the verge of collapse for ever.

“Madisonians better get their collective heads out of their asses, get to the ballot box, and vote these socialists and Marxists out of their positions.”

If people really wanted change, it would have happened by now. People with good sense have either left Madison or are thinking of moving. At least the ones I know.

The left continues to think police are racists who target black people. They live in their own delusional bubbles, unable to see the crisis that’s right in front of them. How do you have normal conversations with people who think that talking about accountability, solid parenting, and crime prevention is racist or a case of fear mongering?

Even the more reasonable sounding ones won’t talk about the REAL root causes, like absent parenting and lack of personal accountability, and instead blame systemic this and that.

Last spring was the first time in a long time that I didn’t bother to vote. I always make it to the polls, but not this time. The choice for alder in my district was between someone who’s far left and another who was being hailed as a moderate, but who in my view doesn’t get it. The candidates Dave was heralding may be an improvement over the far left, but it wasn’t enough to get me to the polls this time.

We’ve been talking about “root causes” for decades. Have poured millions into social programs that may or may not work. Mentorship programs are available in large supply for people who WANT TO USE THEM and improve themselves.

The result? Rising crime, a skeleton police force, criminals who don’t fear consequences (why would they?), schools that have become war zones, and a mental health system that’s still broken but that could have been fixed if local officials actually DID THEIR JOBS.

If the left wants to hold on to their delusions, let them at it. The rest of us live in the real world and are moving on. We’ve heard it all before and we’re tired.

I also said this a few months ago, will be more than lunch money taken by these free to rob thugs. Kind of like the mess boiling in Afghanistan. Be patient, will happen in a high school near you. And, these poor babies said they felt threatened by these cops in the schools? Why, because you can’t be the masters over your victims when they had eyes on you?

And, why do I not see borded windows on Monroe st., Willy st, Atwood Ave. and Epic alley? (East Washington ave) by Festable foods.

Just looked over those NextDoor comments. Delusional, out of touch, misinformed, and oh so Progressive. Even the supposed “pro police” people appear wishy washy.

Why are people afraid to say that we wouldn’t need cops in schools if people took parenting seriously, and if we held people accountable for their misdeeds? Fewer cops + no accountability = increased crime. It’s not that hard. Really.

Dave at least had a coherent comment, that disparity isn’t the same as targeting.

We need real leadership in this city, and sad to say it’s not happening. The city is broken and the situation dire. If you’re able to, consider leaving. When you DO move to your new location, for all that’s good and holy, PAY ATTENTION. Don’t assume Madison’s insanity is contained.

Cops in schools are only a bandaid. Real change will occur when “the community” starts valuing long term gains over short term. That change in attitude and contraceptives would make for a brighter future , but it will take decades to see it.

As for your poll, the administrators will try their best to sweep incidents under the rug. We’re going to have to rely on the kids and Dylan Brogan to report things.

Change will occur when value systems change. It’s up to parents to raise their kids properly, not the government, schools, cops, or community.

A kid who has solid parents can overcome adversity and accomplish almost anything.

The “valuing of long term gains” is synonymous with the administration of more taxpayer funded social programs that nobody can measure for efficacy. It’s a way not to hold anyone accountable for their crimes and misdeeds.

Never mind assault and other crimes like and Marxist propaganda disguised as educational curriculum.

The Madison schools have bigger problems.

Check out this article which has all kinds of stupid to behold. Including anti-white women pejoratives, a/k/a acceptable racist misogyny. (Do all the virtue signaling white women of Madison know they are to blame for most of the racism today?)

Apparently there is a legitimately real Asian ethnic group called “Karen”. This article is unintentionally hilarious as the perpetually aggrieved “leaders” of our school system fall over themselves trying to address this “problem”. They can’t help themselves and end up blaming white women as usual.

White Women of Madison: do you realize you are the cause of so much misery in our community because of your entrenched power and privilege, entitled attitudes, and Vivious Racism??? LMAO

“And if you contract COVID-19, don’t expect special treatment. You were warned, and the extinction of the virus has been delayed.”

So by her logic, if someone is injured or becomes sick because of their poor life choices, like say a gangbanger who gets shot, or obese people who develop diabetes because they continue to pile crap into their faces, they should be denied care?

“If you have avoided the vaccination because liberals are promoting it, and because you don’t want to give them the credit for suppressing the virus, shame on you for being unpatriotic.”

Conservatives are promoting vaxes, too. I got mine and will get a booster shot when available. This is a decision to be made between doctor and patient, not some leftist.

How embarrassing for the author and shame on the Journal for publishing this pedestrian muck.
