If there are only five progressives in your town,
four of them will serve on the school board.
Parents in communities across the nation are waking up to the Woke social justice warriors indoctrinating and face-masking their children.
Parents in Oconomowoc WI organized a recall effort last fall. It failed then but they recently managed to force three school board members to quit. “The [school] board has now been dragged into partisan culture wars,” the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The members blamed “toxic behavior and a hyper-partisan environment.”
Even though the three created that environment. One of them gave away the game when she admitted, “”Any opportunity to think creatively, to offer solutions to approach education differently, is totally shut down.” “Approaching education differently” is code for critical race theory (CRT).
Parents in Mequon and Thiensville north of Milwaukee are trying to recall their school board. As quoted in The Federalist, “An Hispanic-American mother … complains that “school districts are not forthright about philosophies like critical race theory being taught in the classroom.”

‘Why were white people invented?’
Guilty as charged
Parents just north of Madison in Lodi WI took notice after a high school teacher posted on his personal social media page that straight, white male Christians are the most persecuted minority. According to e-mails, high school principal Mike Pisani recommended the teacher take a “Beyond Diversity” course. Like those promoted by Tony Evers’ old shop at WI Public Instruction and “The Network.” (“Each member of our team is committed to racial and social justice.” ) Courses like:
- “Examining Race, Racism and Whiteness in Education,”
- “The Roots of Whiteness,” and
- “Recognizing Racist Microaggressions.”
According to public records, parent Scott Pierquet and other parents are urging the school board to, basically, adhere to Assembly Bill 411 that would prohibit teaching that (among other points):
- One race or sex is inherently superior to another race or sex.
- An individual, solely by virtue of his or her race or sex, is inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously.
- An individual should be discriminated against or receive adverse treatment solely or partly because of his or her race or sex.
Lodi schools superintendent Vince Breunig e-mailed thanking Pierquet, but concluded: “I don’t foresee the district taking those steps right now.”
“Parents feel discouraged….many are downright mad,” Pierquet said subsequently. “We have been gaslighted too long. Lodi IS pushing critical race theory.”
Run for school board!
Which is why social critic Roger Simon exhorts: To Save America, Run for School Board:
Forget Congress, the Senate, or whatever glamorous position you ever fantasized about or not, even president of the United States, if you want to have a serious impact from your work, if, as they say, you want to make a difference, to change this country for the good in the short and long term, run for your local school board.
Blaska’s Bottom Line: Do it before your schools wind up like those in Madison, whose website proclaims “Welcome to the Movement” next to the image of a raised fist; where four minority-race school-resource police officers are expelled from our troubled high schools; where a white “positive behavior coach” is fired for trying to defuse a black girl’s classroom tantrum.
“Lodi IS pushing critical race theory.”
It was only a matter of time. No offense, but did people really think this stuff wouldn’t spread? People who think the rot is contained in Madison and other Progressive utopias and that they’ll be fine if they just move away, are misinformed or in denial. I’ve said this all along, but people were smug and got complacent.
“Why won’t YOU run?”
Good question! This is really something parents should be leading instead of letting others do the heavy lifting. While we will ALL suffer from educational indoctrination, these are ultimately THEIR kids.
I wouldn’t discourage people from running for other offices and contributing positively in other ways, though. Reigning in schools is critical, yes, but that is only one part of the equation.

I can testify to the tendency of Madison-style lunacy to spread like an especially virulent strain of Covid-19. When I taught at UW-Platteville, administrators would periodically come up with proposals to indoctrinate freshmen–most of whom hailed from rural towns in SW Wisconsin–in the latest “cultural sensitivity” training techniques, all of which were already in place at UW-Madison. The administrators’ mindset clearly reflected a desire to emulate the flagship school no matter how ludicrous and/or divisive its programs were.

Not sure when you retired, but I suspect “periodically” has been replaced with “more consistently.”
I get why people want to move away (we’ll be doing the same), but if they remain complacent in their new locations, they’ll eventually face more of the same. Like viruses, leftist lunacy isn’t contained.

“Approaching education differently” is NOT CRT. There are states all over the country putting their politics in our schools. Don’t agree with some dim-witted governor he’ll cut off your funding. Put a mask on and your wages are with-held. It’s just another gop shell-game. Every time they want to get their politics into schools it starts with; “hey look over there it’s woke or CRT” Just like that fool running Florida yapping about the Afgans while his state burns with Covid. Hey; look over there!!

Richard,
You do know that Louisiana has been experiencing worse COVID rates and casualties than Florida, right? Why do you suppose corporate leftist media isn’t focusing on Louisiana? Hmmmm, let me see . . . .oh, yes, the governor of LA is a Democrat.

And the idiots in the Democratic party are focused on pronouns as American citizens remain stranded in Afghanistan under Taliban rule.
What was it the government told Americans? We can’t be held responsible for your security. Major fail!

If you think that democrats are focused on pronouns, you are confused as to their agenda.

I’m not confused about the Democrats’ agenda.
Defunding the police. At the VERY LEAST, blaming society’s ills on them and making it difficult for them to do their jobs.
De-criminalizing crime and handholding criminals via installing bleeding heart judges and prosecutors.
Free stuff for immigrants.
No vetting of immigrants. A Republican congresswoman proposed a bill that would have required COVID testing for migrants entering the southern border, and every single Democrat voted against it even being discussed in the House.
Promoting racial unrest and embracing CRT.
Canceling or harassing people who don’t agree with them
Wokeness of the military
Tolerating and excusing leftist riots that devastated cities across the country
Creating situations where wokeness is preferred as a job requirement over competence. Hence why thousands of Americans are stranded in Afghanistan under Taliban rule.
Shall I continue?

RMS,
I used to be a moderate Democrat before the party turned utterly insane. They are in no way, shape, or form the same party I once knew.
In their smugness, Democrats think they’re the only ones who care about the environment and people. No, they’re virtue signalers who take the most illogical steps to “solve” problems, and corporatorists who want to spend trillions of dollars we don’t have on mis-named projects. The Infrastructure Bill, ie. has more to do with social services and pet projects than actual infrastructure.

RMX,
I misunderstood your original statement. I used pronouns simply as one example of the idiocy.
“When the party achieves power, all of the ideology will be discarded and a new ideology will replace it. A strict ideology. For example, in the Soviet Union, left handed persons were discriminated against. Everyone must toe the party lines, always.”
Yes, I’m well aware of the motivations of the Progressives and totalitarians. It’s warped and we should all be on alert.
If you have a chance, I recommend Mark Levin’s book “American Socialism.” He discuses what you just touched on, including the attempts being made to change the foundation of our nation. Scary times.

Liberty,
You are an outstanding writer. We agree on most everything.
Prior to when I met my Western Ukrainian wife, I did not know a lot about communism. She was born in 1987 (end of the CCCP), her father was forced into the Soviet army in the early 1980’s.
When I learned about Holodomor and the tactics used by the “party”, it woke me up. I believe much of the ideology we are witnessing today is a front to gather minimized groups to foment communal mistrust, which is necessary to achieve party goals.
When the party achieves power, all of the ideology will be discarded and a new ideology will replace it. A strict ideology. For example, in the Soviet Union, left handed persons were discriminated against. Everyone must toe the party lines, always.
My wife’s grandfather was a member of UPA (Ukrayins’ka Povstans’ka Armiya) and spent years after WWII fighting the communist menace in the fields of the “bread basket of Europe”).
I fought in Afghanistan against Taliban rule and will always fight for liberty and justice for all. I earned the Combat Action Badge for my efforts in Sharana and Orgun, Afghanistan.
Government schools focus on the Holocaust, but they intentionally remove Holodomor. Please read about Lazar Kaganovich and Leon Trotsky. These two men’s history will enlighten many about what we are up against today and what our future looks like tomorrow.
I would bet you did not know that these two communists murdered thousands of Black Sea Germans (German speaking) and millions of Ukrainians less than 10 years before WWII.
I enjoy your writing and have high regard for Mr. Blaska and his courage here. David Blaska is a noble and courageous man; a true American patriot.

I think a case could be made for charging radical/progressive school boards with child abuse. What else do you call a teacher publicly shaming white kids by telling them they’re inherently racist? How come no enterprising lawyer–a right wing Avenatti–has tried this?

When progressives use phrases like “think creatively” and “re-imagine,” what they’re really saying is tear down and re-build according to Marxist/CR theory. Double-speak is what they do best–an outstanding local example: inmates are now “residents.” (Come to think of it, “inmate” is another progressive euphemism. The correct term is prisoner or jailbird.) Their proficiency in navigating this linguistic hall of mirrors would probably make George Orwell green with envy–or perhaps swell with pride at how accurately he predicted this particular feature of the leftist/totalitarian mind.
