So deep their hatred, ends justified the means
At some point, the New York Times will send its readers to chiropractors complaining of whiplash. The newspaper of record will execute a 180-degree U-turn. They will call it “The 2017-19 Project” — a serial apologia detailing the scam on the American people perpetrated by Adam Schiff, James Comey, his FBI, and the entire Obama Justice Department — quite possibly leading to the former President himself.
It will detail how deep-state holdovers from the Obama administration used the levers of government and weaponized the Trump Resistance media to flog Russian disinformation paid for by Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee to undermine an elected President.
Obama’s director of national intelligence (and paid CNN talking head) James Clapper acknowledges, in papers released only in the last week: “I never saw any direct empirical evidence that the Trump campaign or someone in it was plotting/conspiring with the Russians to meddle with the election.” (The transcript here.)
Which is what former House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes maintained all along.
“The abuse of power by the CIA, the FBI, and the NSA… is a vastly more serious scandal than ‘Russiagate’ ever could dream of being.” — law prof Glen Greenwald. (H/T law prof Ann of Althouse)
Liars and their lies
It was James Comey, of course, who leaked the memo that led to the Mueller Investigation, a two-year, taxpayer-paid wild goose chase designed to undermine what they viewed as a usurper. That investigation was, itself, a cover up (as we wrote here) to camouflage the collusion hoax by bringing unrelated criminal charges to as many minor players as possible. (Roger Stone, anyone?) None of the Americans charged had anything to do with Russian collusion in the 2016 election, the ostensible purpose of the whole shebang.
Or take former Obama administration defense official Evelyn Farkas whom, The Federalist reports, “lied during an MSNBC interview when she claimed to have evidence of alleged collusion,” a newly declassified congressional transcript of her testimony shows.
‘Grand impresario of collusion’
Farkas is small potatoes, as Hyman Roth would say. From the New York Post which is shaming the NY Times):
As the grand impresario of collusion, Adam Schiff has filled print and broadcast media since January 2017 claiming that he has seen “more than circumstantial evidence” of a Trump-Putin conspiracy. Obviously there was none in the transcripts, or he’d have pulled back the curtain years ago. But Schiff didn’t want to hand control of the narrative to one of Trump’s most effective deputies, so on Thursday they finally went live.
The New York Post goes on to say: They show exactly what you’d expect them to show: None of the former Obama administration officials who took to the airwaves immediately after Trump’s election to claim collusion had any evidence of it.
Then why did Flynn plead guilty?
Mr. Flynn’s interrogator (Peter Strzok) and FBI chief James Comey never thought he lied about his conversation with the Russian ambassador. The FBI never recommended criminal charges. It was the Robert Mueller task force that ginned up a case and used threats against Mr. Flynn’s son to extort Mr. Flynn’s guilty plea.
… Holman Jenkins reports today. Indeed, “Flynn was innocent all along: He was pressured to plead guilty,” civil libertarian Alan Dershowitz concludes. (Where, indeed, are the other civil libertarians?)
The cruel reality is that If a defendant pleads not guilty and is found guilty, the sentence will be far greater than if he had pled guilty —perhaps even 10 times greater. Moreover, in this case, it is alleged that the government threatened, if Flynn did not plead guilty, to indict his son.
Why else would Schiff — he the white knight in Democrat(ic) armor — hide transcripts of 53 witnesses deposed in his secret, Capitol basement hearings, until the much maligned acting director of National Intelligence, Richard Grenell, forced his hand.
Blaska’s Bottom Line: The irony is that Comey, Schiff & Co., posing as clean government avatars, used selective leaks and outright lies to further the work of Russian disinformation agents to sow distrust in their elected government. Special prosecutor John Durham and Sen. Lindsay Graham have their work cut out for them.
More irony: Fox News and Hannity were right all along!

Dave wrote, “Trump’s deep state resisters knew it was a scam”
When it comes to ousting President Trump, it’s clear that anti-Trumpers are fine with the ends justify the means.
The anti-Trumpers have proven that they’ve flushed their ethics.

The Liberal press couldn’t post enuff about this over those years; ad nauseum until it was barely discernible exactly what the issue/isssues was/were. But NOW is now, and so all those news (so-called) sources “got some ‘splainin’ to do….” P’raps they will, or p’raps they’ll attempt to weasel-word their way ’round it. I’m guessin’ the latter….

I think it somewhat under states things to attribute it to “deep-state holdovers from the Obama administration”. If there is one take away from the 2016 election, it’s that elections are intended to give us the illusion of choice. The candidates we are presented with have already been groomed and vetted by our betters. The elites and their clingers on are assured whichever candidates wins, their interests will be protected.
The Democrats shanked Bernie (and he dutifully bent the knee and kissed the ring). The Republicans tried with Trump, but years of screwing their base and being generally useless bit them in the ass. So we wound up with a President that had not demonstrated his fealty to Washington and it’s denizens. This angered and frightened them in equal parts. They were frightened an outsider might upset their grift. They were angered etiquette was not followed and deference was not show to their interests.
This is not simply a few partisan actors in the bureaucracy. This is an imperial city rallying against a threat from the provinces.

Exactly. Well-said!
Wait ’til it happens to Madistan. In my lifetime, the only odd-duck Gov we’ve had was Dreyfus, but he was merely odd, not an outsider by ANY stretch of the imagination.

Yah, there are dozens of auto-manufacturing plants available for sale……IIRC the Chevy Cruze plant has been spoken for although the occupant seems to have problems. Both Kenosha and Milwaukee AMC plants are torn down. There MAY be an old FoMoCo plant in New Jersey, but who the Hell wants to go there?
Musk’s free ride on tax credits sold to other auto manufacturers is almost over with; I think the merry-go-round stops at the end of this year, or maybe ’21. He’ll need an excuse for exiting the business, and this may be it.

Musk’s lavishly slobbering sucklefest at the public teat is the stuff of legend, yet he maintains the Lefty Pass.
Anywho, Lefty turning on/devouring their own? Were The Gotch a better man, he wouldn’t relish looking on so much.
