Blaska Policy Werkes

David Blaska, going out of his way to provoke progressives in Madison WI to make America safe for democracy!

Our tax dollars financed ban on cops from Madison Gay Shame Parade

‘Simply pathetic’

Still waiting for that first elected official to denounce the cop hate

The City of Madison, Dane County, and the State of Wisconsin are major funders of Outreach, the organization that caved to the International Socialist Organization and Freedom Inc. to ban police from Sunday’s Gay Pride Shame parade (08-19-18).

The Blaska Policy Werkes will endeavor to determine the exact amount of taxpayer dollars each governmental unit wastes to support bias, hatred, and division. In addition, these local businesses support Outreach.  They include Alliant Energy, American Family Insurance, Dane County Credit Union, Goodman’s Jewelers, Gordon Flesch, SSM Health St. Mary’s, UW Credit Union, and MG&E.

Outreach parade

We quote ismthus resident and Out gay man Greg Humphrey at Caffeinated Politics:

It irritates me to read that taxpayers, through the city, county, and state, are major contributors to Outreach! And then OutReach turns on our local police and sheriff departments, along with UW-Madison officers.   Read who OutReach has for corporate sponsors, too.  This is YOUR money being used to allow OutReach to cozy up with the International Socialist Organization, who has as its mission, the undermining of faith in our local law enforcement.

The Gay Shame parade went beyond the mere absence of police in the parade into outright, full-throated police bashing. Again, Greg Humphrey:

Today OutReach allowed anti-law enforcement banners and chants in the parade. And, they allowed on stage for their rally, T Banks who spewed all kinds of hateful rhetoric against law enforcement and many of their allies, including our fire department. T Banks is rude and far afield when it comes to understanding our history. OutReach has proven they will get on their knees for anyone. Simply Pathetic!

[ This T. Banks, btw, is described as a community organizer, mental wellness advocate, poet, and playwright … Black Trans, Queer person with a disability, T.  who  “believes the movement for Black Lives must be intersectional and deeply connected to the struggle to end Patriarchy, specifically as it manifest as violence against Black Trans folks.”]

Community Shame

Since last year’s parade, two “activists” hosted monthly forums hosted by OutReach. The International Socialist Organization crows about its success:

madison-pride.png

After last year’s Pride, [activist Shawna] Lutzow says the forum “was all about if cops should be allowed to march in Pride. …

The ongoing anti-racist work within the Madison queer community, the Black Lives Matter movement and the dominance of people seeking solidarity since Trump’s election all contributed to OutReach working on keeping a police contingent out of Pride.

Initially, OutReach compromised with police, planning on the contingent being limited to plainclothes cops, still carrying their sidearms, marching without squad cars. Knowing that this was not enough, activists — including Lutzow, … members of the International Socialist Organization and others — came together to discuss organizing an alternative “Community Pride.”

Our man Gary Kriewald was on the parade route Sunday:

Just got back from the Pride Parade. I couldn’t locate David Clarenbach. No one I spoke to even seemed aware that he was one of the official emcees. I’m wondering if maybe he decided to bow out quietly as a way of protesting the ban on cops.

However, I did have a swell time shouting epithets (e.g., “Your True Colors Are Hate”) at OutReach and a contingent carrying a banner that identified them as being behind the ban on cops. My first encounter with them was on State Street while they were waiting for the parade to start. The looks on their faces were priceless; it was clear that no one had EVER dared to call them haters or probably to call out their bigotry in any way. I then followed along the route and did the same thing two more times.

The final time was on the Square where there happened to be three cops guarding the intersection at W. Wash. After t finished shouting, I said to them, “You should have called in sick today instead of guarding a bunch of bigoted assholes.”

They just laughed and shook their heads. They were talking to two (young!) people decked out in rainbow garb, who, it turned out, were letting the cops know that they condemned the whole cop-hating theme. A small but encouraging sign.

The other encouraging sign was that a couple people in the crowd came up to me wanting to engage in a serious, civilized discussion of the issue. I’m not sure I changed anyone’s mind, but they both thanked me for sharing my views. My main regret is not locating anyone from the local media. All three channels, I’m sure, were covering the event. It was quite a spectacle to see all those “Love Is Love” banners at an event that excludes a group based on employment status. The hypocrisy was so thick you could cut it with a knife — in other words, tailor made for Madison.

A good many of the contingents were sponsored by local businesses, including American Family Insurance. I plan to write them tomorrow cancelling my policies and explaining that I’m not in the habit of patronizing businesses that engage in blatant displays of bigotry. Never realized that protesting could be so therapeutic!

An alternate universe

This is socialist dogma: “The Cops and the Klan go hand in hand.”

This is reality:Madison police adopt policy on treatment of transgender, gender non-conforming people.”

Madison’s policy codifies practices such as using preferred pronouns and names, even if they are not legally recognized, to address an individual and when writing reports. It also defines terms such as cisgender, gender expression and identity, sexual orientation and sex assigned at birth.

Meanwhile, in socialist Venezuela, “Crisis escalates.”

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Gary Kriewald is right: Protesting IS therapeutic! Support the police one week from today, Monday, August 27, by attending the Madison Board of Education meeting. Starts at 6 p.m. at the MMSD administration building, 545 W. Dayton Street.

I’m regularly out-n-about on foot, (running in Midvale Heights/Summit Woods, and walking my Good Golden Girl while picking up trash along Odana Hills Golf Course) and I see LE fairly.

I wave when they drive by and make it a point to walk up and thank them for their service if they’re parked.

A deliciously ironic Turnabout Is Fair Play episode took place last week.

COPS TAKE A KNEE THEN WALK OUT ON REDSKINS LEAVING THEM STRANDED IN THEIR LOCKER ROOM OVERNIGHT

It’s tough being a career Lefty at any time, living with such monumental cognitive slippage while completely ignoring the beneficial lessons a fact-based Universe offers, but watch them helplessly twirl in confused ideological circles with smoke coming out of their flummoxed little ears on this one.

Why? Football is de facto Toxic Masculinity and the Washington NFL Team mascot is raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacist!!!

Ah Lefty; so MUCH hypocrisy, so little time!

According to the Wall Street Journal article on the situation in Venezuela, Mr. Maduro, the dictator there, never was trained in economics.

Dave helpfully provided a list of local businesses that marched in the Gay Shame parade yesterday. I plan to write letters to 3 of them explaining my reason for cancelling my policies/accounts with them and urging family and friends to do the same. Businesses that endorse blatant displays of hate and bigotry need to know there’ll be a price to pay.

What’s missing here are the dollar amounts. How much city, county, state money? Some business tossing them 50 bucks isn’t going to bring down society. Are you going to cancel your utility service; doubtful, but you could go solar.

Typical Qotch; long on blab short on facts. Read my post. I asked HOW MUCH MONEY??? Got it? Understand the question now? It’s your own twisted thinking that made the leap from my question to flopping a burger down in front of Sanders. Somewhere someone knows how much taxpayer money is being spent. That would be a good thing to know. Am I right? Since your a tight-a$$ republican wouldn’t YOU like to know? I would love to know how much money your totally gop controlled state gov’t is giving them. It sounds like your afraid to find out. What a great headline it would make; “Walker and GOP supporting Outreach with $xxxxxxxxx amt of taxpayers money. That would be hilarious. Am I right?

Then do some research and find out yerself instead of offloading it to others, youse lazy pup!

“I would love to know how much money your totally gop controlled state gov’t is giving them.”

We may now add “the difference between state, county, and municipal funding to the ever-expanding list of subjects about which youse know less-than-nothing yet inexplicably still feel compelled to slobber about unintelligently.

          “That would be hilarious.”

Trust me, I get all the hilarity I can handle, and then some, scanning what you seem to think is critical thinking.

Where was Kevin Spacey? None of them ever pray upon kids. It is all fake news.
No, it is not true the parade refused to allow NAMBLA. They encouraged their animal-loving friends to participate, too. Crowd was smaller than anticipated. Too many were waiting in line to see “Billionaire Boys Club.” Rumor was, great photography and a genuine learning experience.

    What a waste of time.

Good question, Expat. Outreach can host a pride parade and it’s their choice who they want in it, but I think they’re wrong to exclude any prestigious/credible group that wants to march in support of them. It’s been a strong sign of mainstream acceptance that first responders (which have many gays in their ranks in Madison) march with them. Unfortunately, a noisy minority carried the day. Cops marching wth gays helps them way more than it hurts them – it was a short sighted decision.
All due respect to the professor, but organizing or being part of a group, carrying signs expressing a point of view at a public event; that’s a protest. A single individual, a lone wolf, shouting insults from the sidelines; that’s a crank.

25 years in the legislature will do that to you’s…

@AnonyBob is convinced that’s the way he’s supposed to think. How could it be any other way: Lefty says ”S#!T,” and @AnonyBob, et al, says ”where-n-what-color?”

Anywho, this is the NEW LEFT!

*Nurtured with heavy doses of Cultural Marxism,
          *Indoctrinated instead of Educated,
*Bolstered by a completely perverted sense of self-esteem that has devolved to mean never hearing the word NO.
*Molded by a compliant, lickspittle press that has foresaken its sacred responsibility to report-n-inform,
*Played by protected class/privileged VICTIMHOODIE groups like a Stradivarius,
*Only hanging with ideological peers & thus immune to, nay terrified of, the Founding Principle of Dissent,
*Convinced BIG GUBMINT is the answer…the ONLY answer,
*Believing that POS groups like Antifa, BLM, FreeDUMB Inc, Derail the Jail, et al, are legitimate organizations espousing fair-minded ideas, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseum, ad infinitum.

They’re led glassy-eyin’ lock-steppin’ & unquestionin’ by their handlers like so many ovine ungulates so freakin’ easily it’s funny, if pathetically so.

Couple that with a suffocating sense of entitlement, staggering White Lefty Guilt, and the stark realization that they embrace an ideology that’s been an EPIC FAIL at everything (but population control) everywhere it’s been tried, and getting their @$$e$ handed to them in elections; it’s a recipe for existential, psychological, emotional, metaphysical, & philosophical disaster.

People have put their feet down and said ENOUGH!!!!!!!!

Funniest thing; CNN’s Chris “America Was Never Great” Cuomo thinks that the gutless POS pukes known as Antifa are on the right side of providence with their…um…behavior, which includes, but isn’t limited to, “yelling in the street.”

Yet presumably you approve of restaurant patrons yelling like nuts at Sara Sanders? My purpose was to let the haters/hypocrites know that not everyone in Madison condones their blatant bigotry. I did notice that most of the spectators who cheered for other contingents in the parade were silent as the cop-haters strolled by. I chose to express my displeasure actively rather than passively. Sorry if you have a problem with that.

“Unfortunately, a noisy minority carried the day,” Says ABob. How true. Just like a noisy minority smeared the reputations of two good and decent men (Porter Butts & Fredric March). It’s happening too often in this town, which is why I raised my voice (literally) in protest. I too wish there had been more voices than mine, but to say that a protest is invalid because the number of protestors failed to meet your personal quota is specious at best. Most protest movements began with a lone voice crying in the wilderness. Maybe next year, if Outreach is stupid enough to repeat this year’s fiasco, there will be time to organize a protest large enough to meet your exacting standards. The real question here is why Madison liberals can do nothing but bend over and spread their cheeks whenever an aggrieved minority demands it. McCarthyist tactics and outright discrimination against a group based on their employment status are apparently all right as long as minorities are guaranteed their God-given right to go through every day, hour, and minute of their lives without being offend or made to feel “unsafe” in any way whatsoever. (Even with all the advantages conferred by my white privilege, I’ve never been able to realize that experience.)

I listened to T Banks spewing her agenda and I was proudly holding up my 2×3 foot Thin Blue Line / Police Lives Matter flag that I also had anchored to the back of my motorcycle during the parade as I rode behind the Woofs crew. Ms Banks was not capable of speaking a sentence that did not include why we should F[u]ck Madison Police. She apparently failed to realize that she was speaking to a Family oriented crowd with many kids in the Audience. I saw numerous parents leading their kids away. One of her main arguing points for her views was the police brutality against gays at the Stonewall Inn. She clearly must not realize that Stonewall occurred in 1969, 49 years ago, and that our world has changed considerably since then. If she has not been paying attention, Gays are protected groups and we have legal rights, including marriage now, and our status as a protected class includes Gender Identity in Dane County. There are numerous openly gay, lesbian, black gay and black lesbian, and even transgender police officers serving in Madison and Dane County. Do really want to listen to a person who thinks we should make policy and sociopolitical decisions on events from 50 years ago that do not reflect today’s culture? My question for Ms Banks is, “You want to be treated with respect, but what have you done to earn it”? Clearly, your fowl mouth and snowflake mentality shows me that the answer is….. nothing.
