Darn the torpedoes!

Democrats fear fighting pro-Hamas socialists for their party’s soul!

A certain former mayor of Madison once endorsed Blaska for Madison school board. Despite such apostasy, Democrat(ic) aspirants continue to seek His Former Honor’s blessing. Well, at least one of them. Mayor Dave is going with Sarah Rodriquez, the current lieutenant governor, in the August 11 gubernatorial primary election. He issues this less-than-ringing endorsement:

Rodriguez is not exciting, but she’s the safest choice. … I’ve also seen her on the stump and she does a workmanlike job. She’s competent.

If that praise was any less faint, it would be invisible. (Apparently, education reform is not all that important to Dave Cieslewicz, after all.) Give him credit: he’s trying to stave off the debacle of nominating a cop hating, anti-Israel extremist who makes the Proud Boys look like Rotarians, thereby handing the election to Tom Tiffany, a known Republican. Without going on the attack. And that is the problem.

Say this for Francesca Hong: the downtown Madison socialist has the courage of her convictions — which is more than her five competitors can say. This blog was the first to report that Hong would appear with the far-left, hate-mongering Twitch streamer Hasan Piker, who raised $57,000 for her campaign this week. By Any Means Necessary, comrade!

This is Hasan Piker in April 2026: “I’m a lesser evil voter and therefore I would vote for Hamas over Israel every single time.” For good measure: America deserved 9/11.

Francesca Hong poses with communist influencer Hasan Piker; notice the Red Chinese flag (background right)

Hong is on record saying “ ‘Defund the Police’ isn’t just a slogan. … Police exist to uphold white supremacy. … Defund then abolish. Reform can’t be an option.”

Hasan Piker, dem socialist

Rep. Hong is a member of the same “democratic” socialist party as New York’s Avila Chevalier, who won last week’s Democrat(ic) nomination for Congress with the support of fellow travelers Zohran Mamdani and Bernie Sanders. Chevalier demands “seizing the means of production,” wants to abolish police, prisons, and borders. She would legalize prostitution. Francesca’s doppelgänger!

Chevalier attended a pro-Palestinian rally in Times Square one day after Hamas’ attack on Israel that featured speeches and rhetoric praising the attack.

The worry, of course, is that Wisconsin’s Little Suamico’s and Potosi’s don’t vote New York City. What we’re not seeing from Madison’s former mayor, from candidate Rodriguez, from Mark Pocan (D-Hamas), or from any Democrat here in Wisconsin is a full-throated denunciation of her absurdities. Or are their differences only a matter of degree?

Anyone willing to lead?

They are lacking spine — some moxie! Is the soul of the Democrat(ic) party not worth the fight?

“If the other Democrat candidates for governor refuse to condemn these statements,” Republican party nominee Tom Tiffany told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, “they’re making one thing clear: this is the extremism today’s Democrat Party fully embraces.” Can you argue that?

→ Who is Wisconsin’s James Carville?

→ In Denver CO, “virulently anti-Israel” socialist candidate Melat Kiros defeated incumbent Democrat(ic) Representative Diana DeGette, who has held the seat for nearly three decades.

Capital Times publisher Paul Fanlund, wearing a hazmat suit and a Covid 19 mask, approaches the elephant in the room with a 10-foot pole. “No, this isn’t another moderate attack on the party’s far left,” the publisher swears to Gawd, nervously looking over his shoulder at Bernie bro John Nichols.

Fanlund grouses, “This tribe, incidentally, controls public policy in Madison, seldom compromising.” (But your newspaper endorses them just the same, Paul.) Girding his loins with extra-strength Depends, Fanlund proclaims at the very end of his thesis:

It will be a shame if intra-party politics prevents Democrats from being able to fully exploit Trump’s abysmal record and uplift ordinary Americans as they all claim to want. But it sure could happen.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Hardly Damn the Torpedoes, that whimper.

Mayor Dave, if it came down to it:

Francesca Hong or Tom Tiffany?

Trump is the most corrupt president in history and all this blog can talk about is the “socialist menace.” If cons wouldn’t have put us in this insane corrupt reality, there wouldn’t be a groundswell for another way to govern. Hoan was elected way back when because corruption was rampant. You should spend some time getting your house in order if you really want to convince people that cons are a better choice. Anyone who excuses corruption is corrupt.

Corruption is bad, including Trump’s. It is also as American as Apple Pie. Jew hatred is not as American as Apple Pie. and it is Jew hatred, not some “socialist menace,” that is the destructive danger now. Jew hatred is why the DSA candidates are winning. In most cases, they are defeating other liberal Democrats who are on board with socialism (Brad Lander vs. Dan Goldman in NYC or Melat Keros vs. Diana DeGette in Colorado. Socialism is a recipe for economic stagnation, but Jew hatred is what destroys the societies that cave to it. In the end, you are not even helping your own cause by denying this.

“Democratic” socialism is the term they apply to themselves when they’re running for political office. If enough of them are elected, you can be sure they’ll drop the “democratic” like a hot potato. As for their “pro-Palestinian” stance, it’s Jew hatred by another name. While Hitler’s Jew hatred is well known, Stalin’s Jew hatred, thanks to a decades-long leftist bias in media and academic circles, is seldom discussed. He was in the process of planning a major pogrom just before he died.

Saying corruption is as American as apple pie is an interesting reply. You don’t like it, but oh well, ho hum, it’s just how it is… even if Jew-hatred isn’t, Black hatred sure is – no need to be bothered about that either, I guess…

Something tells me that if Mamdami was getting billions of dollars of bribes you’d be taking a different view.

Though not all socialists belong to the DSA, I assume you think the DSA has anti-Jewish bias. It’d be clearer to focus the argument, because it’s absurd to say all socialists are anti-Jewish. You may argue that we should not support DSA because of bigotry, but what then of the Republican Party?

The Jewish people I know are anti-Trump for a similar reason – excusing and normalizing his bigotry and supporting his platform despite its bigotry and protecting him from impeachment only teaches us that it’s ok to mix in bigotry so long as you agree with other policy positions.

I am not “ho hum” about corruption, but it is in fact endemic to this and every other political society. Including all the socialist and communist versions to date. Human nature being what it is, as opposed to the romantic dreams of utopians. Trump’s corruption, in any case, is certainly dwarfed by the levels of Democratic corruption we have seen revealed of late in Minnesota, Californian, and elsewhere. To the tune of MANY billions of dollars.

Antisemitism, on the other hand, while endemic at a low level, often erupts in spasms of insanity when a social order is experiencing stresses. It is erupting now far more so on the left than on the right. If you cared about DSA and/or the Democratic Party, you would not dismiss this as you seem to do here. Unlike corruption, antisemitism deranges those who give in to it. Hence the uniquely personalized over-the-top rage we see directed often in demos of late even at ordinary citizens who fail to bow properly to the vile mobs along the way. Or the rage we all saw lately directed at the pathetic Scott Weiner out in San Francisco the other day. This rage is uncontrollable and will not stop with Jews only. It bears no relation to any actual fact or idea — as the Weiner case proves, given that he already endorses the cult fantasy that Israel is committing genocide.

As for those Jews you mention who you think agree with you, it only goes to prove that the notion that all Jews are smart is very wrong. Anyway, I likely won’t convince you. I have to stop now in any case. This will be my last to you on all this. Mark my words, this will destroy the Democratic Party if it is not stopped, and so far, Fetterman is the only Democrat who seems to understand this fully.

Trump has ADMITTED to have taken at least $1.6 billion in BRIBES. It used to be that a guy would have to at least go through the hassle of transacting in inflated-value real estate, and there was only so much almost-plausible latitude possible for the fake prices. It would take a while to scheme out $1.6 billion. Now, with the genius of crypto, a guy can transact in imaginary tokens in exchange for any amount of money. So much less hassle!

This is why regular people are looking for another way to govern. Rich people purchase our government and use it for their own ends. Instead of Rs finding a solution to this problem, they attack the few people who name the problem what it is. A better way to guard against socialism is to see to it that non-socialist politicians serve the people instead of corrupt interests. Propose your own way to reign in corruption instead of attacking people who are trying to solve the problem.
