Standing up to Trump on behalf of Iran and Hamas!

is one reason Democrats can’t run things!

Mostly peaceful 2. The law enforcement memorial on Capitol Square was defaced during the 06-14-25 No Kings rally. Three suspects have been apprehended. (Read & Weep)

Mostly spendthrift, too. A single member (out of seven) of the Madison school board warns that our public school district is using $22 million in one-time funds to cover ongoing expenses. For its next budget, the projected shortfall is an estimated $11.6 million. Giving unionized teachers raises of 10% in 2023, 6.12% in 2024 and 4.95%. That’s a cumulative (check our math) 27% increase over three years.

Instead of moderating spending, the planned budgets over the last two years have outpaced the $60 million increase in revenue from the referendum. — Chris Gomez-Schmidt

Can’t we have a spending ceasefire in Madison WI?

Israel basher for mayor of NYC

Mostly crazy. The faceless bureaucrats here at the Werkes are fascinated by today’s Democrat(ic) primary for New York mayor. Eleven candidates, each worse than the next, are led by former governor Andrew Cuomo, who was driven to the wilderness during the feminist @MeToo purge after bunking Covid-19 contagions with old folks. Even worse is Zohran Mamdani, the Bernie Sanders/A.O.C. socialist.

[Mamdani] wants the government to operate grocery stores, as if customer service and retail sales were strengths of the public sector. — New York Times editorial

Comparisons with another socialist mayor, Chicago’s Brandon Johnson, are inevitable. The Chicago mayor stocked his administration with teacher union toadies. Tried but failed to launch government-run grocery stores (!!!) and levy a “mansion tax,” just as Mamdani proposes. Voters said no! Johnson’s approval rating in Chicago has cratered to a mere 14%.

“What sounded good in theory has translated into dysfunction, driven by fiscal missteps and political inexperience,” the [Chicago Tribune] wrote of Johnson, arguing Mamdani “inarguably, is yet more radical.” — Politico

Tuesday 06-24-25 might not be the opportune time for a Muslim in New York to cry “Globalize the intifada,” The Atlantic observes. “In recent months, pro-Palestine activists have carried out homicidal or potentially homicidal attacks in Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., and Colorado.

Or take Iran’s side. In the anti-Israeli publication The Nation, John Nichols exults, “Zohran Mamdani just showed how to stand up to Trump.” After the President swung the midnight hammer down on a nuclear-ascendant gangster state?

Blaska’s Bottom Line: NYC Mayor Eric Adams knew what he was doing when he left the Democrat(ic) party to run Independent. The problem Democrats have is not that their message isn’t getting through but that their message IS getting through.

Does Mamdani finish worse than 2nd?

Once again Democrats pick the losing side. What’s with them always doing that? Are all of them bears fans?

There is no moderating spending on stolen land.

“What sounded good in theory has translated into dysfunction ….” That Marxism, when put into practice, has without exception proved disastrous for the very people it purports to help hasn’t kept a sizeable portion of the American professoriate from identifying as Marxist. It also hasn’t kept those champions of the proletariat at UW-Madison from striving mightily for tenure, drawing bloated salaries and living in Shorewood Hills.

There is only one place in the world that socialism works. And that’s on paper.

Was one of the monument vandals Tony Robinson’s buddy? Wouldn’t be his first offense, although the MJS article fails to mention that. In a just city, the perps would be punished by paying for the damage with money they could only earn by cleaning toilets at the police station.

Worse than 2nd???Cuomo conceded. He won it straight up. Mandani is an up and comer same as the mayor of St. Paul. Neither will listen to any crap from DOWN IN THE POLLS TACO.

Been to St. Paul lately? Used to be a decent city but it’s turning into a cold version of San Francisco. Homeless in increasing numbers. Open air drug use on public transit. NYC is already turning into an overpriced hellscape and this guy is going to drive it off the cliff. Especially when the business tax base gives him the finger and moves elsewhere, as several have threatened to do. But if New Yorkers really want socialism, then they deserve to get it, good and hard.

I go quite often. Carter went to HS there and UofM. Not some loudmouth transplant. In his second term. Used the Covid money to reduce medical debt for the poor. The property taxes there puts Madison to shame. You’re listening to much Hannity.

Yeah, and I’ve been visiting often enough for the last 20 years to have perspective on its degradation. Back then, it was relatively clean and free of addicts, homeless, and violent crime. But hey, keep lowering your standards if that makes you feel better. Leftists will do that long before they’ll admit that their policies are causing the problems.

I’d love to hear you explain the TACO reference to Hamas, ISIS, Hezbollah and Ayatollah Khameini.

Mamdani wins. Could be the greatest thing ever for the Madison left as it makes them look relatively sane.

Is the only way out for New York THROUGH?
