and a second helping of vitriol
not so much for lying as for electing Donald Trump!
No one seems to believe Joe Biden’s Stage 4 cancer, already metastasized to the bones, was only diagnosed last week. For four years, the 46th President and his handlers — led by Dr. Jill — denied what America’s lying eyes could plainly see for themselves: the old man was slipping. Did no one ask Joe Biden to draw a clock with hands pointed to 4:45?
Now the cancer. We do pray that if this is “it,” the poor man be given an easy glide path out of here. (That exhausts this week’s ration of empathy.) Are we supposed to believe the cancer was only diagnosed last week Friday 05-16-25? Is any human being more doctored than the President of the U.S.A.? Physicians are on call for every runny nose and stubbed toe. The President sneezes and the stock market says gesundheit.
The Democratic Party’s ongoing insistence that Biden was basically fine looks like a fraud committed against the electorate. … [In] Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson’s explosive new book about Biden’s deterioration, they call the widespread refusal to admit how bad he had become a “cover-up.” — Michelle Goldberg, New York Times
If Democrats were P.O.’d about Biden’s brain fog, they should be livid at the delay in the cancer news. “Yet another reaffirmation of the former president’s hubris,” Andrew Egger thunders in The Bulwark. We hear tables being pounded. “How could he ever have thought he was up to the task?” We might ask, why the books and livid essays only now and not — like, before the election?
Sorry David Axelrod, reaction to this latest health news cannot “be more muted and set aside for now.”

Not the first cover-up
The nation was shocked when the news came out of Warm Springs, Georgia, that the only President many of them had known had suddenly died. Voters had no idea FDR was failing. Hellz bellz, the news media of the day hid his wheelchair! But the party poobahs well knew the President was not long for this world. In one of those proverbial smoke-filled rooms at the 1944 Democrat(ic) convention, they replaced the commie-loving Henry Wallace with a vice president who could take over for the old man. Harry Truman is, by every historian’s ranking, a near-great President, at the very least.
No recriminations in 1945. What’s different today among our progressive … acquaintances is that Joe and Jill Biden’s hubris led to Donald Trump, not another Democrat. THAT is the outrage you’re hearing today. If Kamala Harris had prevailed, no harm, no foul, no Jake Tapper book, no renting of garments at the New York Times, Happy Days Are Here Again!
Democrats who faulted Trump’s cabinet for not invoking the 25th Amendment at the end of his first term never pulled that rip cord during Biden’s.
Blaska’s Bottom Line: We can see Democrats wanting to make Biden’s praetorian guard squirm at congressional hearings. Dr. Jill, you’re invited, too. But history throws curve balls that even Johnny Bench couldn’t catch. Who knows? (We sure don’t) Joe’s belated flame-out may have done the nation a favor by paving the way for Trump. Because for certain the Joe Biden/Kamala Harris regime was not working. If Democrats think Gavin Newsom or Pete Buttigieg could have defeated Trump/Vance, they’re guilty of more hubris than Joe Biden — without the senescence excuse.

If Biden’s prostate cancer had been diagnosed earlier, they also would have found then that it was poz for the testosterone receptor which is necessary for it to grow. They would have treated him for that and the cancer likely would not have spread to his bones. At the very least, if it was treated then and still spread to the bones, anti-testosterone therapy now would be pointless and he will very soon be dead. There is inconsistency in how that particular cancer is treated and the idea that it was actually diagnosed several years ago…
Lets not forget ronald reagans early signs of dementia during his 2nd term. The brain and body are resilient until they are no longer able to compensate. Everyones days are numbered and downhill slides can happen unexpectedly even under constant care. I do not care how or when it was found, he was awful as a president and vice president as well as a senator, but that does not mean he should not be able to keep private about this matter going forward. If they decide to share updates, then they need to take the vitriol that comes with giving up that privacy. Long live 45 & 47.

Report from the Grammar Police: It’s “rending” of one’s garment, not “renting” it … unless it’s a tux for the Senior Prom.
