Of the 1,270 convicted for January 6, 2021, a total of 1,009 pled guilty. Of the total 1,583 arrested, 608 were charged with either assaulting or impeding federal police officers. 18 were charged with seditious conspiracy — a felony akin to treason that carries a maximum 20-year penalty. Ten defendants were convicted of seditious conspiracy after trial and four more pleaded guilty to the charge. All were members of either the Oath Keepers or Proud Boys.

I have been outspoken about not issuing a pardon to any January 6th rioter that physically attacked a police officer(s) during that riot, unfortunately I wasn’t consulted before issuing these pardons. I think those that approve of pardoning the violent rioters that physically attacked police officers are engaging in unethical rationalizations. This is out of my control, it’s done, it’s over with, and complaining about it doesn’t change a thing. As I have done with the other pardons issued by President Biden over the last few months, I’m letting it go.
Additionally, I think the word “hostages” is the wrong word to use, I think the correct word/phrase to use for a LOT (not all) of the people prosecuted for the January 6th is “politically persecuted”.
But Trump is pardoning them all.
David, it’s time for you to MOVE ON.
What is a bridge too far from our government? Were thousands of protesters taking over our state Capitol in 2011 and preventing the state’s business from being performed a “bridge too far”? Was anyone even arrested for this shameful charade?
How many arrests were made in Minnesota, Portland Oregon, Seattle, Kenosha, and other cities following the George Floyd inspired incident? Oh that’s right, Kyle Rittenhouse was arrested and tried for defending himself.
Was the officer who shot Ashley Babbitt disciplined? I don’t think so.
Time will tell if yesterday’s J6 pardons are a “bridge too far”. In my opinion they were a “promise made promise kept”. They weren’t even the most controversial pardons that occurred yesterday, when compared to the disgraceful Biden crime family pardons.

Biden commuted the sentence of somebody who killed 2 federal agents – where is the outrage about this? Contrary to the left’s belief, no officers were killed on Jan 6 – Sitnick sounds like he just got wore out. Byrd also pardoned for taking out Ashli. Where were the guns and weapons on Jan 6? For an insurrection, it sure was a curious one with grandmas walking through the capital and horn boy escorted through the halls of Congress for photo ops. Nobody served any real time for the George Floyd riots and the desecration of our very own capital city. 4 years of suffering for many people for a riot that lasted a couple of hours is/was punishment enough.
