To be a Trump voter in Madison WI?
Isn’t that what the Nazi dentist asked poor Dustin Hoffman in Marathon Man? Where can a conservative plunge a Trump/Vance yard sign into the soil here in Mad Town without stirring up a neighborhood petition, an emergency meeting of the neighborhood board, or curdled kibble for the bow wow? The answer is, maybe in Dodge County. Because Madison WI remains a No Fly Zone for Republicans.
The faceless bureaucrats at Blaska Policy Werkes fired up OI’ Sparky, our Eisenhower-era YouKnowWhat, to determine what parts of this progressive oasis are the most conservative areas of Madison. What better measure than the vote for Donald J. F-ing Trump? (!!!)
Where are conservatives more scarce than actually humorous comedians on late-night television? Answer: the Tenney Lapham/ Marquette neighborhoods on the isthmus. Ald. Marsha Rummel’s satrapy. All those high-rise apartments full of young Epic programmers along E. Wash, the retired hippies on Willy Street, and the granola munchers on E. Johnson. Fewer than 6 of every 100 voters cast votes for the Orange Satan.
NOTE: We are computing the Trump/Vance vote head-to-head against the Harris/Walz vote, which is 15.4%. If we count third parties, the total Madison Trump vote equals 15.1%)
Go west of the State Capitol, young man, for something of a surprise. There be dragons, comparatively speaking. Trump pulled one of every 5 voters in Alds. Juliana Bennett’s and MGR Govindarajan’s districts, which encompass lots of college student housing. Even Mike Verveer’s downtown district gave a respectable 15.9% to the Trump-ster. O.K., 15.9% is not terribly respectable, but it’s a bit above the city-wide average of 15.4% who voted Trump/Vance.
Blaska’s Bottom Line: We still think Nikki Haley would have done better — maybe 15.5%. But we’re bitter enders that way.
What’s the most Trump-friendly place in Dane County?

Aaah, to wake up, get online, drink coffee and hear another day of the wailing of the damned in Washington. Each new appointment calls forth shreiks of dismay from the Swamp. The Pentagon, the State Dept., DOD, FEMA, 17 intel agencies, the Beltway Bandits, ICE, HHS, Homeland Security and the other morbidly obese bureaucracies and, best of all… the DOJ. Imagine the panic, the angst of the schedulers and talking heads on TV to know they must interview the MAGA folks.
