Stealing the 2024 presidential election begins today!

Cover me! I’m going in to vote! (Again!)

Today is first day of cheating voting here in battleship ground Wisconsin. We are two weeks out from November 5 and — as seems possible — another rendezvous with broken glass and plea bargains.

Barack Obama and “Tampon Tim” are in town today in Madison. Skipping. We might do the drive through at Mickie D’s on Park Street just to see if The Donald is handing out fries with that. (Does Bobby Junior know that DJT is not making American Healthy Again?) So, the full page ad in our favorite Madison daily newspaper is timely. It’s headlined: 

As Election Day approaches, we, Pillars of the Community in Wisconsin,
are united in expressing our confidence in the integrity of our state’s election system

Signed by 32 personages, of whom we are most familiar with former WI State Journal editorialist Tom Still. Also includes Sawyer County Republican chairman John Righeimer. (But “pillars”?)

Which raises the point, why aren’t all of Wisconsin’s GOP county chairs signing on to something like this? And our friend state chairman Brian Schimming, his board of directors, and our state’s national committee members? Our 86 Republican legislators? RoJo and Hovde? Because, it says here, we know that they know (most of them) the 2020 president election was not stolen.

We can understand why Donald Trump might win — the two principal reasons being cheap gas and Kamala Harris. But this election denial business — thoroughly debunked by every court, Republican governor, Trump’s own attorney general, and independent investigation in the land — is turning the U.S. into Pakistan. Which takes us to the Page 1 story in today’s Wall Street Journal: 

With armed guards, drones, poll workers brace for deniers

PHOENIX — As Nov. 5 looms, the election headquarters in the most populous county in the crucial battleground state of Arizona has become a fortress.

“You’d have to be a psychopath to say you enjoy this,” said Maricopa County’s top election official for voting by mail, Stephen Richer, a Republican. The building has added metal detectors and armed guards. On Election Day, as workers tabulate ballots behind new fencing and concrete barriers, drones will patrol the skies overhead, police snipers will perch on rooftops and mounted patrols will stand ready.

Across the state, election workers have gone through active-shooter drills and learned to barricade themselves or wield fire hoses to repel armed mobs. At the ready are trauma kits containing tourniquets and bandages designed to pack chest wounds and stanch serious bleeding.

Arizona is one epicenter for threats against election officials propelled by years of Donald Trump’s false claims that the 2020 election was stolen, which he has told his supporters could happen again. …

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Trump supporters, repeat after me: “My man lost the last election fair and square but we’ll will win this time because American can’t afford Kamala/Walz, socialism or their Woke boys-in-the-girls-bathroom progressivism. And if we lose again, it’s because our man is a narcissist who refused to take responsibility for his own failure.”

Must Republicans wait until it is safe to find their courage?
