We saw what we saw!
Donald Trump would never have gotten away with all the lies he told at the CNN debate Thursday if Joe Biden had been there. — Bill Maher

President Biden is going to do a sit-down with former Clinton aide George Stephanopoulos on ABC News at 7 p.m. CST Friday to prove that that marble has stopped rolling around in his head.
This show and tell will prove nothing — not just because the small sample is taped (in Wisconsin), not just because the exercise could last as little as 15 minutes (unsettled as this is written), not even because the interviewer may be in the tank for his subject. (Likely.)
Old Joe could recite the Xhosa alphabet backwards, tick off the first 50 numerals of Pi, and carve a bas-relief of Kamala out of a rosewood stump with a chain saw. Doesn’t matter. Why doesn’t it matter, Master Po? Because of that CNN debate one week ago today, my little Grasshopper. Because of mixing the Presidents of Mexico and Egypt. Because of the Robert Hur report. Because of tripping over that sandbag at the Air Force Academy. Because of Corn Pop and the cannibals. Because first it was a cold and then it was jet lag from that European Trip to the G-7 — 12 days earlier! (Next, the White House will claim Aaron Rodgers slipped the Old Man some of his ayahuasca.)
Because we can see with our own eyes, little Grasshopper. Because, as others have said, cognitive decline only goes in one direction. (Like a drunken Churchill told Lady Astor: tomorrow I will be sober but you will still be ugly.) If it happened once, it will again. Next time, Uncle Joe might give away Poland. It’s happened before.
Nikki Haley called it last August
If Biden is incapable of campaigning because of his deterioration, he is also not capable of being President. And if he is incapable of being President, then he should resign and allow Vice President Kamala Harris to take the oath of office. — Adam Serwer, The Atlantic
CNN’s Jack the Tapper — who conducted that presidential debate — put it to Sen. Chris Coons Wednesday 07-03-24. Instead of lobbying Democrat(ic) governors behind closed doors, how about walking into the White House briefing room with a chair and a whip (O.K., some hyperbole here) and tell Karine Jean-Pierre to yield the podium. “I’ll handle these hombres, Lil’ Darlin’.”
Blaska’s Bottom Line: Instead, White House correspondents are asking, mid-day, if it’s Biden’s nap time. When you are a punch line, you are a-losing.

Thanks Gotch and Mordechai for articulating some pretty obvious policy issues, not to mention more existential issues such as secure borders, expecting allies to pay their fair share, the rule of law, etc. I’m still waiting for Anonymous’s answer to where they’ve been the past 4 years regarding Biden’s cognition….
