‘Growing limitations’ were ‘long apparent’!

Pardon us all to hell if we seem obsessed by President Biden’s meltdown, televised in prime time four months before Election Day. Because we are amazed, astonished, agog, and gob-smacked! (!!!)

This is a constitutional crisis akin to Watergate. Or January 6, if we may insist. America must now ask: What did all the President’s men know and when did they know it?

Before we get to shocking reportage from Politico, we must say that voters should be furious that they have been gaslighted by the Biden White House, by the likes of Nancy Pelosi and most of the news media. (Credit to Brit Hume of Fox News, himself 81, who has been sounding the alarm for over a year now.) When Joe Biden passed up the usual softball CBS 60 Minutes interview at the Super Bowl in January, CNN’s Oliver Darcy excused the dodge as “part of a larger media strategy.”

One wonders now if the Justice Department will accede to Republican congressional demands for the audio of the President’s interview with special counsel Robert K. Hur in which he concluded the President could not be prosecuted for mishandling classified documents because he is “an elderly man with a poor memory.” (Rep. Hank Johnson, D-GA, claimed that Hur had deliberately played “into the Republicans’ narrative that the President is unfit for office because he is senile.” — The New Yorker) Maybe because he is?

Politico reports that Biden’s deteriorating condition was exposed for the world to see only because his protective White House handlers were blindsided by the campaign staff:

‘Kept him in a cocoon for 3½ years’

Inside the White House, Biden’s growing limitations were becoming apparent long before his meltdown in last week’s debate, with the senior team’s management of the President growing more strictly controlled as his term has gone on. During meetings with aides who are putting together formal briefings they’ll deliver to Biden, some senior officials have at times gone to great lengths to curate the information being presented in an effort to avoid provoking a negative reaction.

“It’s like, ‘You can’t include that, that will set him off,’ or ‘Put that in, he likes that,’” said one senior administration official. “It’s a Rorschach test, not a briefing. Because he is not a pleasant person to be around when he’s being briefed. …

That the President’s difficulties came as such a shock was largely the result of how effectively his top aides and the White House on the whole has, for three and a half years, kept him in a cocoon — far away from cameras, questions and more intense public scrutiny.  …

By the time Biden’s campaign proposed two debates with Trump, many White House staffers had no idea it was in the works.

Watergate cultural icon Carl Bernstein described on CNN what his sources close to President Biden are saying:

People, several of them, who are very close to President Biden, who love him, have supported and been among … are adamant that what we saw the other night . . . is not a one off, that there have been 15, 20 occasions in the last year and a half when the President has appeared somewhat as he did in that horror show that we witnessed.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: This isn’t the establishment hiding FDR’s wheelchair from public view. But when Democratic poobahs knew in 1944 the old man was dying, at least they jettisoned that communist sympathizer, Henry Wallace, in favor of Harry Truman for vice president. House Speaker Mike Johnson should call congressional hearings to determine:
