Quit telling us what we need to believe!
My old boss Dave Zweifel put into print his thoughts on “How DEI became an insult.” We won’t link because Dave uses an egregious example which does nothing to explain how DEI became a deserved insult. Here’s a better example:
A liberal environmentalist and near-West side Biden supporter reported some local issue to his Madison alder at the time, Shiva Bidar-Sielaff. Ms. B.S. responded by accusing him of white male privilege! Ms. Bidar-Sielaff (“she/her”) now enjoys a six-figure salary as the diversity, equity, and inclusion coordinator at UW Health.

Conscious bias goes in both directions
NPR and most of the news media ignored Hunter Biden’s toxic laptop; they dismissed the Wuhan Lab theory out of hand. Their overt bias hit 11 on the dial after George Floyd’s death in May 2020. NPR staff, Berliner recounts, were told to “be aware of how we ourselves have benefited from white privilege in our careers. We must understand the unconscious bias we bring to our work and interactions.”
Race and identity became paramount in nearly every aspect of the workplace. Journalists were required to ask everyone we interviewed their race, gender, and ethnicity (among other questions), and had to enter it in a centralized tracking system … In a document called NPR Transgender Coverage Guidance —disseminated by news management — we’re asked to avoid the term biological sex.

“In D.C., where NPR is headquartered and many of us live, I found 87 registered Democrats working in editorial positions and zero Republicans. None.
I suggested we had a diversity problem.“
The “intersectionality” of oppression, Berliner reports, “meant highlighting the suffering of Palestinians at almost every turn while downplaying the atrocities of October 7.” Pretty much explains why the print version of The Capital Times says it’s time for the Israelis to surrender. “A growing number of Israeli voices are calling for an end to the nightmare that Netanyahu has unleashed.” But more of those voices belong to John Nichols, Mark Pocan, the AOC Squad, and the Democrat(ic) party.
Blaska’s Bottom Line: What? Netanyahu unleashed the nightmare? Hamas gets no credit? That’s how DEI became an insult, Dave!

Didn’t Earn It/Discrimination Exclusion Inequality (or whatever) started out as a despicable Lefty Call To Arms (not unlike WOKE) meant to rally pierced, pasty, pink-haired, porcine pedants, and ‘nadless beta-male incels.
Through deft marketing and a serendipitous coup by a fact-based Reality, it collapsed under the sheer weight of its monumental inadequacy to become an Ultimate Pejorative, which sums up Lefty’s consummate uselessness by hoisting them on their very own petard.
The ever LUVin’ kicker? Lefties still strut around like pigeons thinking it’s a Badge of Honor rather than a Sword of Damocles prepared to render them fit to guard the King’s Harem.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, NPR’s and PBS’s parent, received $525 million for fiscal 2024. Of that, $367 million went to public television stations. Glad the Gub’ment is committed to selling us what to think.
The gop needs to bring more dei into their members of congress. Right now they can’t agree on one ply or two ply ass wipe. The only real majority they hold is in the dumb-ass group. The only thing they are able to pass is gas and that’s debatable.
