Apparently she is one of “500 veterans” of Joe Biden’s presidential campaign who parrot the Democratic Socialists of America party line. Their communiqué demands the President “call for a ceasefire, hostage exchange, and de-escalation, and take concrete steps to a dress the conditions of occupation, apartheid, and ethnic cleansing at the root of the horrific violence we are seeing now.” A statement Nichols is only too pleased to regurgitate.

Just a slight correction to your basically accurate statement that Madison is “filled with construction cranes … building high-rise apartments.” A more accurate statement would be “high-rise LUXURY apartments” to benefit UW students whose parents are paying the bills and/or pampered Epic employees who wouldn’t dream of living anywhere but the “cool” part of town–neither of whom has any trouble paying the exorbitant rents–you know, the ones that drive up everyone else’s rents. This state of affairs would be deplorable enough, but we have to listen to the jackasses, who run this town and who give out-of-town developers a free hand, bleat about how they’re the champions of the poor and downtrodden.
Maybe the Mayor could kick in the savings on the Lake St. parking ramp to help out the County like the County Exec. always kicks in money to help out the City like the homeless shelters, city market and the rest. Oh that’s right, the City already spent the money on other projects.
