Republicans have a secret weapon. It’s MSNBC and the Woke Progressive movement. Rachel Maddow, Joy Reid, and Nicolle Wallace were getting it wrong Tuesday night as they condemned the voters for electing Glenn Youngkin, the first Republican to win a statewide race in Virginia in 12 years.
Joy Reid argued that Terry McAuliffe, a former governor, didn’t fight enough for the issues people care about. Like global climate change! As an issue, climate change registered in the single digits. Joe Biden is schmoozing and snoozing at the Glasgow climate confab instead of opening up American pipelines and supply chains. The big issues in Virginia: Schools and the price of gasoline. WHAT? The state taxes groceries?
The three ladies agreed that Youngkin sold suburban soccer moms a bill of goods. Critical race theory isn’t being taught, the ladies tut tutted. In other words, mom and dad are stupid, easily gulled. Closet racists. “Lee Atwater’s playbook,” according to Joy Reid.
Calling voters racist is arrogant — but so progressive! Thereby fulfilling the prophecy of Erick Woods-Erickson, who predicted early Tuesday “They will then do what the press and progressives do best — blame the American people. … America is racist again.” Speaking of condescension:

In truth, Republicans were guilty of listening to the people rather than lecturing them. (So far as is known, Glenn Youngkin never wore blackface, unlike Virginia’s current Democratic governor Ralph Northam.) Republicans were on pace to pick up the lower chamber of the legislature (the upper house was not on the ballot) and other statewide constitutional offices.

→ The Republican in New Jersey was also doing well at this writing (10 p.m. Tuesday) (UPDATE Wednesday morning: Headed for a recount). A state that Biden won by 16 percentage points!
→ In Buffalo NY, the capital S Socialist India Walton, darling of John Nichols and his fellow travelers at The Nation, lost to the incumbent mayor, who had to run as a write-in after losing to her during the Democrat(ic) primary.
→ In Seattle, a Republican was elected city attorney over the defund-the-police candidate.
→ Former cop and one-time Republican Eric Adams was elected mayor New York. Republicans won races throughout Long Island, Queens and Brooklyn. — New York Times.
Progressives have made education political
- Wisconsin Republicans should remove the requirement that school district superintendents hold a doctorate in education. Schools of education are assembly lines of CRT.
- Put the Department of Public Instruction in the governor’s appointive cabinet.
- Erase race questions from the next Census. (What is Tiger Woods? A great golfer and a dangerous driver.)
Glenn Youngkin did better among Washington D.C. suburban mothers who buried Trump, who lost statewide by 10 points. Youngkin reversed that, winning by 10 points (as of this writing at 9 p.m. Tuesday, 2 November 21). Youngkin won without Donald Trump. Went out of his way not to antagonize Trump voters but kept arm’s length. Never shared the same stage or the same screen with #45. Trump also under-performed Republicans in Wisconsin’s prosperous Milwaukee suburbs, as Sen. Ron Johnson reminds.
Blaska’s Bottom Line: McAuliffe campaigned with Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and national teachers union boss Randi Weingarten. He would have done better to carpool with Jimmy Carter. Build Back Better, whether $3.5 Trillion or $1.75 Trillion, just took a flat. Thank you Bernie, AOC, Mark Pocan, The New York Times’ 1619 Project, and the ladies of MSNBC.

Yes, I do think that Evers is vulnerable. I think people will remember the site of Kenosha burning and think that this is not the right guy to lead the state. He should have sent in the National Guard right away.

I see the instructor holding the rod, and, given the position of the young man, I think I can, with some certainty, determine where she intends to shove that rod. My question is – Does this really work on the “woke”? (other than improving their posture, and discouraging participation in “sit-in” demonstrations)
I ask because so many “woke” liberals show indications of having undergone the procedure previously, (probably with multiple objects) Sometimes they are intrigued by it, sometimes they just become more “woke”, and far too often they just run for office.

Joy Reid said last night on the air that Republican candidates are a danger to the national security of the United States.
She should have been removed from the air, put into a special uniform with a spit mask, and carted off by a team of men in white coats to immediate involuntary commitment to what used to be referred to as the insane asylum.

Seems to me what we have here is a FAILURE of the democrat/marxists to communicate with WE the PEOPLE!
Hopefully WE the PEOPLE will become WOKE to the dangers of what the marxists/socialists want our nation to be and kick all of these quasi-communists out.

Wonderful virginia won big night, new jersey gave it a go but with dem counties having most outstanding votes, looks like it will be dems again there.
There is zero excitement it will happen in wisconsin, don’t see the former lt gov of wi doing well. About as exciting as current governor. Lasry has the upper hand with the senate race.

Glenn Youngkin won Virginia mirroring President Trump’s policies without directly involving President Trump. It was a genius strategy in a TDS pandemic infected blue state.
Up and down the ticket, it was a bloodbath for the Dems in the land of lovers and it portends more GOP victories in 2024. Winsome Sears became VA’s first black and female Lt. Governor.
Normally, I wouldn’t care about a candidate’s race or sex. It matters this time because in this age of hyper-identity politics, she is a Republican. It’s a huge slap in the face to those who insist that Republicans are White Supremacists. Sears is also a former Marine which just makes it all better.
It shows me; Republicans can win and achieve victories beyond the margin of Democrats’ cheating. It’s just a shame that it takes the D卐M☭CRATS putting America on the verge of collapse for so many good, intelligent, and Conservative Americans to get to the polls.

The Lt. Gov.-elect in VA being a Black woman, and the new GOP AG being a Cuban-American, won’t stop leftist craziesfrom blabbing about rayyycist white supremacists being the reason the commie Dems got their butts whooped last night.
I hope they keep up the rayyycism and “Jan. 6 was worse than 9/11, Pearl Harbor, and the Civil War” hysteria routine all the way through 2022 and 2024.

Yes there was high turn out in Red Counties but what put this over the top was blue dog democrats crossing over, and not republican turnout that won it for Youngkin. Need to recognize that as soon as he is inaugurated for office he will be attacked non-stop and the those Dems will flip back to their usual voting block like good little sheep.

Democratic strategist James Carville is correct. He thinks that for Dems to win elections on a consistent basis, they need to lose critical race theory, or this “woke” nonsense. He made this comment right after the 2020 Presidential election when he acknowledged that Joe Biden won by a slim margin. It was apparent that CRT was hurting Dems before 2020.
Blacks on the national scene are willing to have a fair discussion about racism. White wokesters are the ones shutting down debate on the issue.
Voters care about rising food and gas prices, heating their homes, educating their kids in a school where they, as parents, can avoid CRT brainwashing.
Virginia and NJ are bellwethers. Republicans are smiling.
