Promoting the partisan pan-DEM-ic

CNN & NY Times promoted Russian collusion hoax;
now they pin hopes on the pandemic.

Very clever, the gnomes at the New York Times. Page One of my Sunday paper is almost all agate typeface text naming almost 100,000 individuals who died of COVID-19. An impressive job of compiling this data. Worker bees scoured obituaries for telling comments. A sampling:

… Stanley L. Morse, 88, Stark County, Ohio, trombonist who once turned down an offer to join Duke Elllington’s orchestra • Margaret Laughlin, 91, Massachusetts, had a mystic’s direct sense of wonder and oneness • Cynthia Whiting, 66, La Plata, MD., retiree determined to spoil her granddaughter …

This bit of advocacy journalism is the latest salvo in the NY Times’ stated objective of bringing a President down. Adam Schiff couldn’t do it. Russian collusion proved to be a Hillary Clinton/James Comey hoax. The coronavirus may be the ticket. If only Donald Trump had acted one week sooner!

The NY Times knew very well that their piece de resistance would be fodder for Trump haters. Sure enough, this doctored piece:

Trump golf NY Times

NY Times almost begged its minions to Photoshop the President onto their Page One political stunt.

While Pelosi played the race card

But while Trump was closing off access to Wuhan province after the Chinese government tried to cover up the origin of the pandemic, Democrats like Nancy Pelosi were busy virtue signaling.

On February 24, KQED radio San Francisco reported:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi took a walking tour of San Francisco’s Chinatown on Monday as part of an effort to calm fears around the coronavirus, or COVID-19 as it has now been named.

Pelosi addressed concerns about tourism and reassured the public that the risk of contracting the coronavirus remains low in the U.S., adding that she thinks the fear is “unwarranted in light of the precautions that are being taken here in the United States.”

No face masks? No social distancing?

“Come to Chinatown,” Pelosi said. “Precautions have been taken by our city, we know that there’s concern about tourism, traveling all throughout the world, but we think it’s very safe to be in Chinatown and hope that others will come.

Journalism in action!

This very day (05-26-2020) CNN breathlessly reports: “Trump has spent far more time at golf clubs than Obama had at the same point.” (Also on the CNN website: “Michigan man refuses to wear mask.”)

So,, Donald Trump played golf over the Memorial Day weekend. The President also visited the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and spoke at Fort McHenry in Baltimore, which inspired our national anthem. But somehow he is supposed to do penance for an pandemic that he did not cause.

There are some small stirrings that the double standard is curdling American politics. This is Van Gordon Sauter, former head of CBS News:

News organizations that claim to be neutral have long been creeping leftward, and their loathing of Mr. Trump has accelerated the pace. The news media is catching up with the liberalism of the professoriate, the entertainment industry, upscale magazines, and the literary world. Recent arrivals are the late-night TV hosts who have broken the boundaries of what was considered acceptable political humor for networks. …

Much of journalism has become the clarion voice of the “resistance,” dedicated to ousting the president, even though he was legally elected and, according to the polls, enjoys the support of about 44% of likely 2020 voters.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Donald Trump is, in many ways, a thin-skinned narcissist. A junkyard dog in a luxury high-rise apartment. But he did not put COVID-19 patients in senior citizen nursing homes.

What do YOU think?

Enjoy the vid. Pretty much sums it up.

If for but a day, THAT front page saved the POS New York Slimes the embarrassment of printing something for which they’d have had to bury a retraction a few days later.
