The Babylon Bee reports, you decide:
How veddy, veddy Deplorable!
The indispensable Titania McGrath — a conservative pranking the left — reports from the United Kingdom in the aftermath of Boris Johnson’s beat-down of Labour:
‘Not one shred of humanity’ (!!!)
Cry “racism,” of course! Statement of the Democratic Socialists of America, which endorsed Bernie Sanders and Jeremy Corbyn’s Labourites:
Over the last several months, DSA has not been merely watching the Labour campaign — we have been deeply invested in it, with our members and leaders doing everything they can to support our comrades in the UK. We understand that the fates of our two countries, and of the international working class, are inextricably linked.
We wish today’s results had been different, and we stand in deep and unconditional solidarity with the working class — with the women, queer people, people of color, immigrants, disabled people, and marginalized people — of Britain, who will be hurt daily by the policies of the Tory government. It is not lost on us that Brexit was a major factor in this election, and that xenophobia, Islamophobia, and racism have served as blunt tools in the hands of the Tories.
Labour’s loss does not mean that socialist politics are unpopular or unnecessary in this moment. Rather, this loss reflects the ongoing erosion of democracy at the hands of the ruling class … our opposition has power, a stranglehold on the media, and not one shred of humanity.
We’ll take ‘Or both’ Alex, for $50
The New York Times says Americans are asking what…
… Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s landslide victory meant for them: Was it a good omen for President Trump’s re-election chances in 2020, a cautionary tale for Democrats — or both?
Finally, this admission from the New York Times’ Maureen Dowd:
The inspector general’s report about the F.B.I.’s Russia investigation offered a hideous Dorian Gray portrait of the once-vaunted law enforcement agency. As Charlie Savage wrote in The Times, the report uncovered “a staggeringly dysfunctional and error-ridden process.” The F.B.I. run by Comey and McCabe was sloppy, deceitful and cherry-picking — relying on nonsense spread by Christopher Steele.
And at least one Democrat, Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey, plans to switch to Republican in disgust at impeachment.
What do YOU think?
Jeepers Blaska, you’s want your pound/453.592 grams of flesh as well?
James Comey: ”I was wrong (to say the FISA process was) followed.”
Did Comey misspeak, or was he “inartful,” ala Hillarity?

Comey, Brennan, and The CLAPper are furiously developing Alzheimer’s, a technique they learned from Hildebeeste several years ago. Amazing how fast that disease can overtake one’s memory.

17 egregious errors in procedure from “pure as the wind driven snow” Comey. Equally true in the ‘Hillary didn’t mean to send 22 highly classified documents” despite intense training. Lies , corruption and a weaponized DOJ/Intel apparatus.
That ain’t “sloppiness”. It is precisely what Obama did to use the IRS against the Tea Party.
We can be grateful that Comey, Brennan and Clapper were as incompetent as the president who placed them.

What a pity the word “cunt” doesn’t have the same currency (or connotations) in the US that it does in the UK. So many in this country’s political scene–male and female–are prime practitioners of cuntery–though it takes on a certain piquancy when applied to a male. Can you think of a more descriptively accurate term to apply to Adam Schiff, for example? But call a woman a cunt–no matter how richly deserved (listening, Nancy? AOC?)–and you’re cast into outer darkness by the language police. And then there’s “wanker,” which seems to be gaining a foothold on these shores. Another term that seems tailor-made to describe certain players in the current political scene.

Jeeze, Professor, why don’t you treat us all to your views of the “N” word, piquancy or not.

Here’s one view: the n-word filled the void left by the f-bomb when it (and its many variants) became as common in everyday discourse as “and” and “the.” (Don’t believe me? Eavesdrop on a conversation among college students.) Sorry if you found my post distasteful, but I operate on the principle that every word deserves its fair share of scrutiny–and I confess to a fondness for the good old Anglo-Saxon ones.

Once again we see conservatives for the hypocrites, or is it clueless morons they’ve come to be. The DOJ IG report found “Found that FISA procedures were not followed” and former FBI director(the one who torpedoed Clinton’s candidacy, but not trump’s) James Comey stated “I was wrong (to say the FISA process was) followed”
So why did conservatives say nothing when Bush failed to follow FISA procedures? Bush even stated he “found FISA laws to slow and cumbersome, hell he even signed an executive order allowing wiretapping on American phone lines without a court order. I think we know why, their contempt for the constitution knows no bounds.

Says Geo.
You meant to say that in Washington DC, corruption and piggish self interest knows no bounds. The Constitution isn’t even a consideration.

@Batman;
“The Constitution isn’t even a consideration.”
But, but, but, but, but, but, wasn’t it the talented @AnonyBob that claimed (December 5, 2019 at 12:58 pm) “American law schools are notoriously respectful of the Constitution”
This piggy-backed his somewhat dodgy observation that, and I quote: Turley, the reliable Fox commenter hack, a liberal democrat? Only in the RWNJ universe!
The FACT that Turley is a registered democrat AND voted for Hillarity leaves us to ponder the preference of @AnonyBob: Alcoa or Reynolds Wrap

Please tell me again how egregious it is for outsiders to meddle in and influence a country’s election!
Per the Democratic Socialist party of AMERICA:
(whose face, Bernie, is surging in the latest polls in Iowa) “Over the last several months, DSA has not been merely watching the Labour campaign — we have been deeply invested in it, with our members and leaders doing everything they can to support our comrades in the UK. OK, Natasha (and Boris–Badenov, not Johnson) get a pass. That show was one of my favorites as a kid but it was decades before realized that Boris Badenov was a clever pun on Boris Godunov.

Been following this ferrago for NOT months now -for Years. SO. Apparently unwanted UK Labour hasn’t figgered it out yet, and the USA “Never-Trumpers” will follow their hebetudinous lead (impeachment).
Comments by Anonybob, while succinct, are clueless again concerning fact. Perhaps his mining the ‘Net for a new avocado toast variation would satisfy.
