Not when you are criticizing Donald Trump. You’re supposed to have a clear shot at the President in a carnival arcade without taking return fire.
Trump is a “Russian asset.” An illegitimate President. He pees on women. He’s racist. Kidnapped the Electoral College. Cheats at golf.
Rep. Elijah Cummings of Baltimore can accuse Trumps Border Patrol agents of “child abuse.” Heaven forfend if Trump responds. Which, of course, he did — with both barrels.
Conditions “in his Baltimore district are far worse and more dangerous … a disgusting, rat and rodent-infested mess. Maybe if he spent more time in Baltimore …,” Trump tweeted.
Why is so much money sent to the Elijah Cummings district when it is considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States. No human being would want to live there. Where is all this money going? How much is stolen? Investigate this corrupt mess immediately!
Rats! I hate them!
Immediately, the liberal news media played the race card for two essential reasons:
- Rep. Cummings is African-American and
- Trump criticized him.
Rather than address the issue
ABC News pontificated:
The president employed language similar to what he has used before to describe political opponents of color and majority black areas. Cummings represents Maryland’s seventh congressional district, which encompasses parts of Baltimore and the surrounding area. He is black, as are 53% of his constituents, according to census data.
The Baltimore Sun editorialized: Mr. Trump sees attacking African American members of Congress as good politics, as it … warms the cockles of the white supremacists who love him.
A Baltimore Sun columnist professed that “People who refuse to see or hear Trump’s racism in attack on Baltimore are beyond reach.”
So, yeah, Baltimore has had a long spell of violent crime, and we are per capita one of the most violent cities in the country. It has been a miserable fact of life here for a long time, the last four years particularly. And yes, we have rats and we have trash.
But we do not need the president of the United States to rub it all in our faces, especially a president of a political party that has done as little as possible over the last half-century to relieve us of these problems.

Democrats have been governor of Maryland for all but 9 of the last 50 years, including the esteemed Martin O’Malley, primary challenger for U.S. President in 2016 .
Speaking of mayors of Baltimore (which O’Malley was between 1999-2007), Democrats have run city hall for all of that time. All 50 years.
Five of the last six mayors have been African-American, including (until this May) Catherine Pugh, who resigned in disgrace after her home and her city hall offices were raided by the FBI and the IRS. There’s corruption for you.
Democrat(ic) presidents Clinton and Obama served 16 of the last 26 years. Taxpayers in flyover states have been pumping federal money into Baltimore ever since the Great Society. Tell us when it starts working.
Physician, heal thyself
It’s not just Trump. A few years ago, Bernie Sanders described Baltimore as “Third World country” and “a disgrace.”
The Washington Post ran this story six years ago “Oh, rats. There’s one aspect of Baltimore she can’t get used to.”
The good people at Orkin list Baltimore as the ninth-most rat-infested city in America. (After #1 Chicago, followed by Los Angeles, New York, Washington DC, and San Francisco. Milwaukee is 21st.
More ominously, Baltimore is the runner-up as the murder capital of America.

I seem to remember quite clearly when President Trump was critical of the aid amount to Puerto Rico, and every cry from the media was ‘raaaaaacccciissssstttt!’ against ‘Brown People” (ugh, what a disgusting Leftist phrase I loathe. Reducing a person’s individuality to only their skin color). He was proven right, and I suspect he was operating on information he was privy to at the time. Larry Hogan is the Governor of Maryland – “His state; his job.” False! The Governor is responsible for running the State government NOT the cities and/or neighborhoods. If the Governor went in and told the cities how to do their jobs there would be hell to pay for over stepping his authority.
Elijah Cummings is the Representative for Maryland’s gerrymandered District 7 – “His district; his job.” This is LITERALLY true. It is HIS district, it is his job to Represent his constituents in that district and do things to help that district improve and prosper. He has been the Representative for that gerrymandered district for 24 years and he deserves some of the blame for the conditions in that district, but he doesn’t run the district either, the city does.
Bernard Young is the Mayor of Baltimore – “His city; his job.” This is factually true in just about every respect. It is LITERALLY his job to run the city of Baltimore and that includes things like permits, trash removal, mass transit, roads, crime, etc… All these things DIRECTLY impact neighborhoods and individuals. What the Mayor cannot control is the individuals that choose to make a SHIT HOLE out of a huge swath of his city. Have you been to Baltimore in recent years? Trump parroted what Baltimore city leaders have been saying about their own city but now Trump is attacked as being racist for saying it on a national level. To be sure Trump was being a real jerk (yet again) for saying it, he shouldn’t have said it, but it was NOT racist.
That was a very stupid thing to write. Maybe you should consider staying away from the hooch and doing a little research before you type such verifiable falsehoods. There isn’t one shred of overlap between Washington DC and Maryland’s District 7, in fact, any overlap of districts would be illegal.

The 2020 presidential election will be a defining moment for the 21st century political left, they have too much invested in their social justice rhetoric to let up or turn back now. They have defined all things that are to the political right of the extreme political left as evil, it’s time to move ahead full steam. The political left MUST nominate a non-white person to run for President or they risk alienating the entire non-white community and all of the social justice warriors, plus if they were to nominate a “white” person they will prove beyond any doubt that their social justice rhetoric is a complete fraud. Either they practice what they preach or they become completely irrelevant, it’s all in, or it’s nothing.
Regardless if you agree with anything I wrote above or not; we saw the reaction to Trump winning in 2016 and the followup three years of growing hate and irrational behavior from the anti-Trumpers, do you think the hyped-up irrational anti-Trumpers will react with same kind of devastating sorrow this time around; I don’t. I ask you, what could possibly go wrong inside the brain of an already irrational anti-Trumper that’s been constantly bombarded for four years (in 2020) with unethical and immoral rationalizations justifying their hate? I hope I’m wrong, but what could go wrong? Eventually these emotional lunatics are going to SNAP because they don’t get their way.
I’m worried about what the hoard of irrational hate filled anti-Trump sheep will do. It’ll be kinda like feeding your pet Mogwai after dark and then throwing the resulting Gremlin off the Milwaukee Wisconsin peer straight into Lake Michigan.

Are these apocalyptic predictions, you bet they are and like all predictions there is only a chance that they will come true. If there is one thing that history has shown us it’s that when there’s verifiable patterns of escalating unhinged emotional reactions from people and those emotional reactions include physical violence, it’s terribly unwise to disregard the existence of those patterns and plan ahead as if everyone is coexisting peacefully.
We do not know and cannot predict what the snapping point will be for unhinged people but you damn well better be ready for it IF it happens.

Good point. To be fair, looking back I should have stated and what I meant I should have worded it more completely. I wrote “…he shouldn’t have said it…” what I really meant was “…he shouldn’t have said it the way he did…”. Trump was intentionally being a jerk and not being presidential yet again. Using a tit-for-tat rationalization to justifying how Trump said what he said all because Cummings is a jerk for falsely accusing ICE of sins just doesn’t cut it for me.
So to sum up this part; Cummings should have been called out but in my opinion there are better and more productive ways of doing it.
I am one of the people that wish President Trump wouldn’t tweet. President Trump is literally trolling his opposition on twitter trying to prod them into doing or saying stupid things. Even though it easily exposes the terribly poor character of his opposition it also shows terribly poor character on his part too; it’s not presidential. President Trump was elected to get things done Washington DC, he was not elected to destroy his opposition, there IS a ethical and moral difference.
On this point we disagree.
