Best actor in a social justice role: Jussie Smollett

Catholic Boys of Covington KY say ‘tell us about it’

What does it say about our beloved USA when an increasing number of the best and the brightest aspire to Victimhood? Or that our leaders bestow the Croix de Victime on entire demographies? Blacks, hispanics, gay, college students, women — every member a victim. If they do not so regard themselves, then they are not sufficiently “woke.”

Remember “I am woman, hear me roar”? Today, they sing: “Help, I have fallen because a U.S. Supreme Court nominee advertised for sex slaves in his high school year book.”

Jussie SmollettPoor Jussie Smollett. The well compensated television actor lunged for the brass ring of Victim Super Star but in his fall they sinned all. The satiric Babylon Bee “reports”

“Nation’s liberals devastated after learning hate crime
didn’t actually happen”

The earliest knee jerking came from Kirsten Gillibrand, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, and other Democratic presidential candidates. For the liberal-progressive-socialist agenda of identity politics requires a steady diet of victims.

The facts, they’re still unfolding

Ann of Althouse deconstructs Kamela Harris squirming before the news cameras, post hoax unveiling:

She acts as though she doesn’t remember what she tweeted, then, when reminded that she called it “an attempted modern-day lynching,” she looks back (at 0:27) as if to seek help from somebody … then turns forward again, says “sorry” and giggles. She giggled in response to the idea of lynching!

Then she partly composes herself, lifts her eyebrows halfway up her forehead and says “ummm, uh, uh, okay” and otherwise stalls for 10 seconds before coming out with “The facts are still unfolding,” which struck me as ridiculous considering that she didn’t wait for facts to unfold before declaring it “an attempted modern-day lynching,” so she’s making it seem as though she’ll jump to a conclusion when she likes where she can go and will take refuge in restraint when she doesn’t like it.

Smollett’s story reeked from the start

best-victimWhile returning to his Chicago home around 2 a.m., the actor said, he was beaten and doused with bleach. His assailants tied a noose around his neck and shouted racial and homophobic slurs. “This is MAGA country!”

Yeah, right. In today’s NY Times, Noah Rothman deconstructs the rush to judgment and the extreme confirmation bias.

These details strained credulity from the very start. There was the idea that downtown Chicago was Trump country. Then that Mr. Smollett reportedly hung onto the Subway sandwich he picked up before the attack. The rope his attackers placed around his neck remained there even when he arrived in the lobby of his building. His assailants were roaming the streets for high-profile targets at 2 a.m. during a historic cold front.”

If you are inclined to believe that America — especially in the age of Donald Trump — is plagued by racism and homophobia, none of these extremely fishy details seemed to register. Indeed, many politicians and journalists seemed to suspend all critical thought in a campaign to indict not just Mr. Smollett’s attackers but the country as a whole.

Victim mentalityMadison’s elite does the same thing with its Blame Police Officers First campaign. They would have you believe cops are responsible for 60% of black Madison public school students scoring BELOW basic proficiency in reading and writing.

Mr. Rothman, BTW, wrote a book titled Unjust: Social Justice and the Unmaking of America. Sounds like a must read.

We’ll leave the last word to the The Babylon Bee:

After some deep breathing exercises, [U.S. Sen. Cory] Booker spoke with reporters. “How are we supposed to intentionally turn the nation against each other and exploit these divisions for political power if people won’t commit a simple hate crime once in a while?”

First the Catholic boys of Covington. Now this!

Postal Inspectors (Texas Rangers without the hats): “This is not a whodunit. It’s a how-many-people-dunit.”

I think you are mistaken that it’s the “best and brightest” of our society that aspire to victimhood. It’s actually the parasites, the stupid, the lazy; the bums. These people have nothing of value to offer. However, they have found they can parlay their suck into political power and help themselves to the product of people’s labor by voting for the right people. This has created an economy based on victimhood. The greater your victimhood, the more graft you will be rewarded with.

Jussie (proof women shouldn’t be allowed to name their children while drunk) thought he was going to ride that victimhood gravy train. Having no seen no evidence to the contrary, he thought all he’d need to do was be gay and black, squirt a few tears and the manna would rain from heaven. Fortunately, the Chicago PD is not as stupid as the news media and we can all sit back and have a good laugh at this dipshit’s expense.

Just like the obvious false flag operation right here in Madison when somebody painted swastikas on the synagogue along with “Trump rules” and “Antifa sucks,” these are NOT things that Trump supporters would do. They are things that leftists think Trump supporters would do. And “antifa sucks” tells you exactly who it was who did this. They are not exactly rocket scientists.

I knew beyond the shadow of a doubt the first time I heard it that Smollett was perpetrating a hoax. It read too much like a bad Hollywood script: gay black man attacked by raging racists wearing MAGA caps, the bleach, the noose, racist and homophobic epithets being shouted in the middle of one of the gayest neighborhoods of Chicago, the minuscule scratch on his cheek. then the farcical interview in which his eyes were darting everywhere except at his interviewer’s face. Of course, there’s not the remotest chance of his being punished in any meaningful way. I predict his defense will be something along the lines of “Mr. Smollett was the victim of an abusive childhood [what criminal doesn’t have one of those?] exacerbated by living within the confines of the white racist heteronormative patriarchy of the U.S.”

During the OJ Simpson trial, Mark Fuhrman was quoted as saying that when he questioned a black suspect (he used a somewhat more pungent term), he automatically assumed that the first ten sentences out of his mouth would be lies. Plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose.

In related news, The Gotch is expected to have all his slacks altered to accommodate his mysteriously reappeared 32 inch/81.25 cm waist.

And the media has really cast so much doubt on his story, WHICH I FIND SO PERSONALLY OFFENSIVE that a gay black man is targeted then suddenly he becomes the victim of people’s disbelief? It’s so outrageous to me,

I think he misspoke. By “gun violence” I’m sure he meant “repeat offender black male, between the the ages of 14 and 35, violence”. Gun violence is a term used by disingenuous people to dance around the uncomfortable demographics of who does the killing in our society and their part in enabling it. It also allows them engage in cost-shifting from their client group to their political opponents.
