‘Colonial’ is offensive?
“Step by baby step, we move closer than ever to demonizing the Founding Fathers,” The American Conservative reports.
Students at George Washington University in the city named for him voted to end the use of the “Colonials” mascot because colonialism might be offensive to foreign students. Never mind that America was colonized.
“It’s all about imbuing the core identity of this country with moral stain. They’re training the next generations to hate America and what it stands for by institutionalizing national self-loathing.”

Shooting at a car
Terquil D. Davis, age 17, no permanent address,
was arrested 09-09-19 for first degree reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent after shooting at a moving car .
Detectives learned Davis is in the midst of a dispute with a couple of other young men. Davis was walking when those young men pulled up near him in a car in the 1700 block of Northport Drive around noon Monday.
A retired Dane County Sheriff’s detective was in the area and watched as Davis fired multiple rounds at the car. The retired detective and a Wisconsin Department of Justice agent – who also happened to be close – chased after the suspect. With help from Maple Bluff police officers, the two men took Davis into custody.
MPD officers were also on the scene very quickly. They arrested Davis and confiscated his revolver.
Detectives have now located the involved car and found it contain two bullet holes. There were no reports of injuries. The investigation is continuing.
The MPD thanks the retired detective, the Department of Justice agent, and Maple Bluff police officers for apprehending a suspect who opened fire in broad daylight in an area where many innocent people were going about their lives.
Stolen used car lot
8:28 a.m. Monday morning Officers responded to a parking lot on Kessel Court to check for a stolen vehicle. Three vehicles were found in the lot that were confirmed to be stolen. A fourth vehicle, also confirmed to be stolen, fled from the parking lot. A handgun and ammo were located in one of the vehicles. Multiple law enforcement agencies involved due to where the vehicles were stolen from. Investigation continuing.
Off-field scrimmaging at Memorial H.S.
9:09 pm. Friday 09-06-19 — Officers responded to the area of Gammon Rd between Memorial High School and Odana Rd for a report of large groups of people congregating and disturbances breaking out after the football game.
Six officers and a sergeant were in the area attempting to move people along and disperse the crowds. Things calmed down briefly until reports were again received of disturbances near McDonald’s on Odana Rd. No incidents resulting in charges at this time.
