This is what democracy socialism looks like!
Social justice warriors have established their autonomous zone on Madison’s Willy Street, 10 blocks from the State Capitol. Barricaded with commandeered trash bins, pestilential mattresses, wood pallets, and iron pipes.
All to “honor” a career criminal named Corey Ruiz who stabbed police attempting to take him off the neighborhood’s troubled streets before police responded with gunfire, killing the 38-year-old man then and there. Elect Francesca Hong as governor, Wisconsin, and expect more of it because this is the bleeding heart of her legislative district.
Seasoned and hardened revolutionaries from the George Floyd riots in Minneapolis are said to be on the ground now in Madison. Brought their ugly George Floyd monolith with them. The City obligingly detours traffic around the occupied zone. Saturday night on the other side of Capitol Square, citizens seeking food and beverage got bullhorns shoved into their faces if they dared patronize the many establishments on State Street. Police told to stand down. (A poster advising a blockade of the Beltline Hwy is being called an A-I hoax.) But Wednesday’s Concerts on the Square has been canceled. Again.
Bullhorns in your face, blockades, harassment, and intimidation — that’s what the communists mean by the term “social justice.”

From Patrick on social media:
Just dropped my daughter off down town. Chaos!
I won’t go in to details nut the demonstrators are going out of their way to be confrontational to anybody and everybody. They are looking for it while asking for it.
The police are nowhere to be seen.
I’m 71 and I took more abuse tonight than I care to. Soon They will do to someone 22 what they did to me and then all hell will break loose. Sad what’s become of my hometown.
Shame on you Madison.
‘Social justice’ means mob rule
Progressive Dane, a local political party, is once again demanding police be defunded “to dismantle the white supremacy ingrained within policing and public safety policy.” Mayor Satya Rhodes Conway is Progressive Dane. The city’s leader has already thrown police under the bus. “It doesn’t matter who you are or what your past is. No one should lose their life as a result with an encounter with law enforcement,” the mayor said last week. Might it matter what you DO? (Apparently not.)
Representing Willy Street and downtown Madison in the State Assembly is Francesca Hong (D-Madison), although her actual party affiliation is Democratic Socialist. Has her own bullhorn, apparently. Used it to crazy up the mob. “This state-sanctioned violence was an execution!” Judgment now, trial later.
According to statewide polling, Hong is the Democrat(ic) party’s leading candidate for governor — with statewide support, apparently. A straw poll reported by Jessica McBride among party activists in populous Washington County went for Hong 21, David Crowley 3, Kelda Roys 2, Mandela Barnes 1, Joel Brennan 0, undecided 9.
Mark Pocan, Madison’s rep in the U.S. Congress, is clearly backing Hong even if he won’t come out and say so. And so are most Republicans of my acquaintance in this open primary state — a bit of mischief designed to force Democrats to come to Jesus.
Blaska’s Bottom Line: Madison’s socialist intifada is providing campaign advertising B roll for Republican candidates from Tom Tiffany on down the ballot. National mainstream Democrats are worried. “A slow-rolling car headed for a cliff,” former Obama staffer David Axelrod calls the Democrats race.
Francesca Hong had been trying to tiptoe past Defund the Police. Now she’s its angry face.

The “Block the Beltline on Monday July 26th?” was a gotcha, I believe.
BUT, CONCERTS ON THE SQUARE has been cancelled, again.
Yes. All the “reputable” prog orgs are disclaiming it.
Concerts on the Square has been cancelled, AGAIN. https://www.wmtv15news.com/2026/07/27/concerts-square-canceled-wednesday/?fbclid=IwY2xjawTUeh1leHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFaRTNoenBreldHeXIzcG9kc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHjA7RhfOGovyLqtQQH2-23Enwc0wK2IZxb6jSIQMGts66X9YKq1uN28–2Tr_aem_Egftcxnp6vnwtu2K7zl_BA
I banged my gong yesterday (absentee ballot is on its way back).
That is a great statement. Who will restore order? I wish I knew the answer.
It’s going to be a long hot summer. Hang on and strap yourself in for the ride! This is why I tell people I’m from around or by Madison.
The people participating in these kind of autonomous zone protests are anarchist that think they, and those that think like them, are above the law.
Anyone think there’s a reason that these anarchist don’t build an autonomous zone on Monona Drive?
Madison is literally enabling the anarchists.
Or in Maple Bluff?
Interesting they are not protesting in Chicago where blacks are killed on a regular basis and [their] mayor is goofier than Madison. Hard to believe.
This further strengthens my resolve to never set foot inside the city limits of Madison ever again…until and unless someone rolls tanks. Let that city rot, wither and blow away.
Would it be out of line to request from authorities a list of crimes that one can do w/o repercussion such as riding bicycles around the Capital while nude in front or with kids, or blocking roads etc.? Izzit disturbing the peace to interupt the Concert on the Square?
Concerts on the Square was an island of civility in a sea of madness. They will be back.
Put up razor wire fencing with on exit an.d entrance. Cut off electricity, gas lines, jam cell service, cut internet and water let them be autonomous all they want no one enters or leaves. Let them rot in their dsa wisdom. All this is now is a fund raising rally for dsa candidates.
On a hot day today, they said they needed ICE – in capital letters, I kid you not!
One thing the local anarchists lack utterly is self-awareness. Well, that and gainful employment.
Mr. Ruiz is listed as “white” because in Madison the highest level of “Diversity and Equity” is Included in the Dane County Jail.
Frannie sez “Abolish everything” and posted all over social media.
Fact checker sez “That doesn’t seem to be her position”
Madison Police Oversight Board wants 1% of the police budget. Almost a $1m a year. So much for the body cameras.
