Where is an unmarked police car not unmarked? In Madison WI. Where are undercover plain-clothed officers clearly marked as the constabulary? Here in Progressive Madison WI. Where can scofflaws speed off into the sunset unmolested? In Defund the Cops Madison WI — at least until unfettered police in nearby Monona track them down.
Virtue signaling like a sinking sailor doing semaphore, Madison’s police chief — appointed by Mayor Satya — is ordering placards be placed in the windshields of otherwise unmarked police vehicles. The signage will read “Madison Police” — in English AND Spanish, yet! (But not Somali?) Plain-clothed officers will now wear insignia indicating “Hey, I’m a cop — but at least I’m not I.C.E.!”
Envious Madison is determined to stumble in the footsteps of Jacob Frey, the preening mayor of Minneapolis. Do some quality “learing” at the feet of Minnesota governor Elmer Fudd.
The capital city of Wisconsin is girding for passive– (that inevitably turns to) aggressive resistance to legitimate immigration enforcement. Make the Feds conduct their lawful enforcement out on the streets, without the mitigating crowd control of the local gendarmerie. All to signal that the City intends to encourage, however tacitly, the usual idiots to interpose themselves into the midst of active law enforcement, thereby endangering themselves, government agents, and even the unlawful immigrants. And you thought nullification was only a tool of Southern separatists!

Sheriff Kalvin Barrett should invite immigration authorities into his jail — no foolish bystanders, no weapons — and say, “Here’s who we’ve got.” But he does business as a Dane County Democrat and that party has been taken over by Francesca Hong’s socialists.

In service to this city’s simmering insurrection, former alder Brenda Konkel agitates for a battle plan to protect The Homeless (aka: the “unhoused”) from the law.
“If I.C.E. comes to town what is the plan for unhoused people in shelter or on streets?”
Heaven forfend that taxpayers should be relieved of providing more government services to illegal immigrants who are homeless, intoxicated, and disorderly.
Via social media, one Jud Sojourn recommends: “Rapid response groups to locate events, blow whistles and try to get marked people to safety and prevent future arrests. … Need temporary safe locations lined up, drivers, and people to help run interference.”
Madame Brenda, who possesses a law degree, raises a Fourth Amendment, search and seizure issue: “Is a sleeping bag on a sidewalk a private space? Or a tent?”
County Supv. Heidi Wegleitner proposes “quality training for shelter staff to prevent ICE access to space or guest info.” [“Guest”?]
Sabrina Marie asks, “Could we start a list of privately owned businesses that welcome vulnerable people to come inside if they feel threatened, with no requirement to spend money? Businesses that will stand against ICE on their property?”
Blaska’s Bottom Line: If I.C.E. comes to town, here’s Blaska’s plan for unhoused people: Invite them to bunk in your home. Ask how they like their eggs in the morning.
