Palestinian advocates hurt their cause

Gaza not starving enough to release hostages. — Babylon Bee

Has advocacy for any cause created more ill will than the push for Palestinian statehood? The movement is on some kind of public relations suicide mission. Their martinets keep demonstrating why Palestine should NOT have a state. Latest case in point, the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The school suspended the campus chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine for six months after its hotheads disrupted a speech by Joe Biden’s United Nations ambassador. Blew slogans through a megaphone while the cadres outside Shannon Hall pounded on doors. (Can’t the university confiscate megaphones? They’re kind of big.)

“I really appreciated this young man expressing his views, what I didn’t appreciate is that he didn’t want me to express my views.” — The former ambassador, as quoted in the student newspaper

But that’s the nature of totalitarianism, isn’t it? Students for Justice for Palestine cannot argue the merits of their cause so they resort to bullyingAs do their counterparts in the Middle East, albeit shedding more blood.

Coercive, not persuasive

Columbia University has already suspended its chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine — one of 300 claimed across the nation. Took over large portions of the New York City campus in April 2024. Again in May 2025 they occupied the main library. Columbia has since kicked about 70 of them off campus and even rescinded some diplomas.

Keffiyeh-wearing SJP and their sympathizers (many of them faculty) occupied Library Mall on the UW’s Madison campus with their own tent city for 12 days until 05-10-24, when Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin sent in the garbage trucks. The feckless UW-Madison Faculty Senate voted 79-52 to condemn “police violence” in breaking up the illegal takeover. Violence? Nobody got hurt.

Can we stipulate that Palestine would have its state by now if they would quit killing Jews! Israel gave self-rule to Gaza in 2005; Hamas invested billions in donated oil money on munitions and tunnels, culminating in the October 7 (2023) massacre. The latest in a long list of infamies, dating back to at least the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre. (“They’re all gone.”)

→ “At illegal encampments on college campuses, many individuals have championed anti-semitic rhetoric calling for the elimination of Jewish people.” — U.S. House Committee on Oversight

→ Pocan subject of GOP ethics complaint.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Justice for Palestine doesn’t just hate Israel, it hates America — our democracy, our constitutional guarantees, and our tolerance of other viewpoints (on a good day, anyway).

Ever consider: maybe students for Palestine ARE getting justice?

They are protesting because of the tone-deaf morons in DC are idiots. Dementia Don wants to “take” Gaza. Use “forced displacement’ to move everyone to “BEAUTIFUL places around the middle east and not be allowed to return. Then he and the other oligarchs can build “THE RIVIERA OF THE MIDDLE EAST. Using your tax dollars and pissing off every Arab in the world. He presented this scam to the UN I’m sure the protestors will be putting the signs away because this is such a genius idea. Now you know why people around the world hate us. And the spinless MAGA nuts will follow this and never say a bad word about it.Send your condo deposits in by the first.

Wrong. They’re protesting because their heads are so far up their @ss that they can’t see who the good guys are in this fight.

Pissing off every Arab in the world? Tell me another one. Several Middle Eastern countries have already said they’ll participate in rebuilding Gaza. Which would be far better than what’s there now, as the Hamas gangsters (that the Palestinians put in power) have bankrupted one of the most beautiful places in the world and forced its inhabitants to live in squalor. And tried to blame it all on Israel, with much success among left wing sycophants.

No one has oppressed Palestinians more than Hamas.
Why hasn’t Egypt opened its border with Gaza?
Because they know more about Palestinians than any one in Madison.

EXPAT: Good post. My cynical take on Madison is that a portion of the natives are too busy existing inside their individual blue bubbles to consider the plight of Palestine.

Yes. Free Gaza from Hamas? Israel has done that by transforming the territory into a hellish landscape. Now they are using starvation to complete their objective.

Initially, Israel had every right to defend itself, but now this nightmare has become the stuff of war crimes prosecutions. Israel’s top brass will pay.

And how will Hamas be prosecuted for kidnapping and raping, for throwing babies into ovens? I don’t know. I do know that anyone who brings up these points to the average snot-nosed Palestinian street protester risks being assaulted. Proceed with caution.
