Not since the Head Groundskeeper’s experiments with mind-altering substances in the 1960s has reality ever been in more doubt. Best we can figger, two causes: 1) Artificial Intelligence and 2) Natural Stupidity.
Some algorithm has targeted the Werkes’ Facebook feed for a barrage of B.S. — bogus on its face (one might think) except that the folks who blame Mike Pence for the nation’s ills are sucking it up like flies at a manure spill.
Because he opposes a certain former President’s candidacy, Robert DeNiro is a favorite target. Did you know the actor was thrown off the Warner Bros lot? Neither does anybody. Yeah, fake.
No one attracts more ire from the (likely) Russian disinformation bots than The View’s Whoopi Goldberg. Did you know she’s going to leave America soon. That’s what something called Znews32.ink maintains. Or that Taylor Swift has been banned from Kansas City Chief games? Just ask “cnnnews.ink.” (“Ink”!)
Most of these posts carry a “SATIRE” disclaimer, apparently as a means to evade the fact checkers. Not that it deters the wishful thinkers from believing the unlikely. It’s poor satire — if it was satire at all. Jonathan Swift, they are not! Real satire (like that in Babylon Bee) takes the truth and magnifies it so that even the blind can see. (Stanley Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove is the avatar.) But we’re post-truth — that’s the victory of the academics. Too many Americans (it sez here) believe what they want to believe — anything else is Fake News!

Class, activate your B.S. detectors! A clue: No motion picture has yet been made for that amount, even with Biden/Kamala’s inflation. Now, class, let’s dial up our God-given common sense-o-meter: If such a big budget movie were attempted, would it star Roseanne Barr (bless her soul!)? Is this a sequel to Barbie? (Maybe in a Kathy Bates type of role, but not above the title!)
Headline: “Trump doesn’t care what Sen. [Lindsay] Graham thinks.” After which, the senator gets back down on his knees, which must be worn to the bone by now. Have a little respect for yourself man! More fake news? Roll the tape!
Blaska’s Bottom Line: The great showman P.T. Barnum said a sucker was born every minute. Everyone from Tucker Carlson to Adam Schiff, from Alex Jones to John Brennan, has figured that out.

Not to quibble, but it’s actually attributed to one David Hannum, ironically in response to Barnum’s well chronicled skeeziness upstaging his own.

“No one attracts more ire” at the Policy Werkes than ‘ol Rickster. And some of it gets pretty nasty. (Goootch) No one wants to listen to the lone Democrat point out their flaws. I get that. But when the people here bend “their” knee to the group and constantly call for me to be banned and that ban is carried out; it does raise questions. Not just here, but all through the government.
Speaking of fake news what happened to The Drudge report? Between TDS and “Musk Derangement Syndrome”, the site has become all but unreadable.
